FIRE CLAY FACTS AND CARE
Fire clay is known for its strength
and durability. It is a specific type of
clay that becomes a stone-like
material during the firing process.
Its non-porous surface makes it
highly resistant to heat, chipping,
cracking and discoloring, as well as
acid and most other solutions. Its
stability during firing allows it to
maintain a flat, waveless surface
when used for large pieces. This has
made it very popular in both the
kitchen and bathroom.
Care and Maintenance
Fire clay is very easy to maintain. Simply clean with a soft cloth or
sponge using a mild soap and warm water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly
and wipe dry. A general purpose cleaner can be used for more heavy
duty cleaning. To remove surface scratches use a blue (non-abrasive)
scotch brite pad with Soft Scrub Cleanser with Bleach.
