How to use:
- Insert 2 new D-size batteries, noting polarity shown in rear cover. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.

To change the batteries and charcoal pack
(see figure above):
1. Press down both tabs on grey battery cover
and pull out rear cover to remove.
2. Replace old batteries and charcoal pack.
3. Insert 2 new D-size batteries, noting polarity
shown in rear cover. Do not mix alkaline,
standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries. Do not mix old
and new batteries.
4. Insert a new charcoal pack (#42093) in rear
cover recess.
5. Insert locking tabs at bottom of rear cover
into slots in front section. Push cover up and
guide tabs into unit until it pops into place.
Pour remplacer les piles et le sachet de charbon
(voir la figure ci-dessus) :
1. Pour retirer le couvercle gris du logement des piles, appuyer sur ses deux
languettes et tirer.
2. Retirer les vieilles piles et le sachet de charbon usagé.
3. Insérer 2 nouvelles piles de format D en prenant note de la polarité
sur le couvercle arrière. Ne pas mélanger des piles alcalines ordinaires
(carbone-zinc) avec des piles rechargeables (nickel-cadmium,
nickel-métal-hydrure, etc.). Ne pas mélanger de vieilles piles avec des
piles neuves.
4. Insérer un nouveau sachet de charbon (n˚ 42093) dans le logement du
couvercle arrière.
5. Pour réinstaller le couvercle, insérer ses deux languettes dans les fentes
inférieures du logement des piles. Pousser le couvercle vers le haut et
orienter ses languettes de manière qu’il s’enclenche en position.
Change the charcoal once a month.
