Antenna Connection
Connect an antenna cable to the TV.
An antenna connection is not required if using the TV with a cable receiver/set-top box combination or a satellite receiver/
set-top box combination.
If using a ground-wave antenna, connect the antenna cable to the Ground-Wave UHD or Ground Wave/Cable port. If using a
cable antenna, connect the antenna cable to the Ground Wave/Cable port.
If using a ground-wave antenna and a cable antenna, connect the ground-wave antenna to the 지상파 UHD port and the
cable antenna to the 지상파/케이블 port.

Turning the TV On using a Mobile Device

Connecting an IP-Control Device to the TV

In order to use this feature, Power On with Mobile has to be enabled.
Turning this feature on may allow other IP control devices to control your TV. We recommend turning this feature on only if

network is password protected.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
Changing the name of the TV

Screen Sharing (Smart View) with Your Mobile Device
You can watch the screen of your mobile device on the TV screen through Smart View or Tap View.

To turn off Screen Sharing (Smart View), disconnect the mobile device or press the button on the remote
control.
You can watch in full screen by setting the aspect ratio to 16:9 in Screen Sharing (Smart View) of your mobile
device.
Use AirPlay if you are an iPhone or iPad user. For more information, refer to Sources Connection
Guide Smartphone Apple AirPlay.
While the contents on your mobile device playing through the TV, you can adjust the volume on the TV using the
volume button on the mobile device.

Using the Tap View function
Tap your mobile device on the TV, you can watch the Multi View or mobile device's screen through the TV screen.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
This function is available in Samsung mobile devices with Android 8.1 or higher.
1.
Enable Tap View on your mobile device.
For more information about  refer to “Enabling the Tap View” below for how to set.
2.
Turn on the screen of your mobile device.
3.
Place your mobile device on the top of the TV. The TV screen switches to Multi View or mobile device's screen.
When you perform Tap View in Ambient Mode feature or Art mode (only in The Frame models), only the mobile device's
screen appears on the TV.
4.
Watch the Multi View or mobile device's screen on the TV screen.
The displayed TV screen may differ depending on the model.
This function enables mirroring (Smart View) by detecting vibrations generated when you tap the mobile device on the TV.
Be sure to tap away from the TV screen and bezel corners. It may cause scratch or damage to the TV or mobile device.
We recommend using your mobile device with the cover in place and lightly tap it on any external edge of the TV.
Enabling the Tap View function
Enable Tap View in the SmartThings app.
Depending on the SmartThings app version, you may need to register the TV with your mobile device.

Launch the SmartThings app on your mobile device.

Select Settings ( ) in SmartThings app on your mobile device.
3.
When any mobile device is near the TV, set "Allow phone presence detection" to On.

Tap "Allow phone presence detection" and then set the "Remote Smart View" to On.

Enter the "Remote Smart View" by tapping, and then set the TV to connect from the device list to On.
When the TV connects with the mobile device for the  time, select Allow in connection pop-up window on the TV
screen.

Using Multi View
While watching the TV, you can see content from your mobile device through mirroring (Smart View).
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.
In some models, you can watch the feed from a camera connected to the mobile device’s SmartThings app.
Q-Symphony is not supported by Multi View.
When an external device that connects to a receiver or Soundbar is used in Multi View, sound outputs from the TV speaker,
not from the receiver or Soundbar.

Optical cables do not transmit video signals.

The cable splits video signals into red, green, and blue channels and
transmits the signals in HD (1080i) quality. Audio signals are
transmitted via the red and white channels.

Changing the Source to a Connected External Device
It's possible to change the input signal of the TV and connected external devices.

From the screen, select a connected external device to set it as the signal source.
With models that support universal remotes, connecting an external device (e.g., a Blu-ray player or a gaming console) to
the TV's HDMI port and turning on the device results in the device being selected automatically as the TV's signal source or
the device automatically pairing with the universal remote. For more information, refer to "Using Samsung Remote to
Control External Devices (Universal Remote)".
When you connect a USB device to the TV's USB port, a pop-up message containing links to lists of media  stores on the
device appears on the screen.

Before Connecting External Devices
Described below are notes and suggestions on connecting external devices to the TV.
The number of ports and their names and locations may vary depending on the model.
When connecting an external device to the TV, refer to the device's user manual as well. The number of ports on an external
device and their names and locations may vary depending on the manufacturer.
Connecting using an HDMI Cable
The following types of HDMI cables are recommended:
High Speed HDMI Cable
High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet
Premium High Speed HDMI Cable
Premium High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet
Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
Use an HDMI cable that is less than 17mm thick to ensure an optimal connection.
Use of an non-certified HDMI cable may result in a blank screen or a connection error.
Certain HDMI cables and external devices may not be compatible with the TV's HDMI version.
This product does not support Ethernet access over HDMI. Ethernet is a Local Area Network (LAN) model
utilizing standard coaxial cables of the IEEE.
Use a cable that is less than 3m in length to get the best UHD-viewing quality.
Depending on the type of the graphic card used, certain computers may not support HDMI. If connecting a
computer that does not support HDMI, use an HDMI-DVI cable or HDMI-DisplayPort cable to connect the
computer to the TV.
Connecting the TV to an external device (DVD/Blu-ray player, set-top box, etc.) via an HDMI cable automatically
activates Power Synchronization Mode. Power Synchronization Mode continuously monitors external devices
that are connected via an HDMI cable. To disable this feature, disconnect the HDMI cable from the external
device.
Depending on the model, this feature may not be supported.

Connecting External Speakers
For better audio quality, connect an A/V receiver to the TV.
Connecting an audio device using an optical cable automatically changes Sound Output to External Audio
Device. However, the external audio device must be turned on before connecting the cable. Sound Output can be
configured manually as follows:
The optical port may not be supported depending on the model.
From Quick Settings Screen
Under Quick Settings's Sound Output ( Settings up directional button Sound Output), press the
Select button to choose Optical.
From All Settings Screen
Under Sound Output ( Settings Sound Sound Output), select Optical.
Refer to the sound bar's user manual when connecting it to the TV.
If you hear an unusual noise while operating an external device, the unusual noise may be caused by the external
device itself. In this case, contact the external device's manufacturer.
Digital audio is only available with 5.1-channel broadcasts.

Depending on network configuration, network quality, and device functionality, file-sharing may not be

Connecting a Mobile Device
In order to use the screen sharing (Smart View) feature, you will need a mobile device that supports a screen
sharing protocol like Screen Mirroring or Smart View. Refer to the mobile device’s user manual to find out if your
mobile device supports screen sharing (Smart View).
To use Wi-Fi Direct, the mobile device must support Wi-Fi Direct. Check your mobile device’s user manual to find
out if the device supports Wi-Fi Direct.
In order to use screen sharing (Smart View), the mobile device and the TV must be connected to the same
network.
Use AirPlay if you are an iPhone or iPad user. For more information, refer to

Depending on the network status, you may experience audio and/or video interruptions while using certain
features.
