Intensive and lengthy use of the appliance may require additional ventilation. This can be
achieved by opening a window or by increasing the power of the mechanical exhausting system if
installed.
Abnormal Operation:
Any of the following are considered to be abnormal operation and may require servicing:
- Yellow tipping of the hob burner flame.
- Sooting up of cooking utensils.
- Burners not igniting properly.
- Burners failing to remain alight.
- Burners extinguished by cupboard doors.
- Gas valves which are difficult to turn.
In case the appliance fails to operate correctly, contact FIORI for your closest authorised service
provider in your area.

CLEANING THE GAS HOB
CAUTION
Always disconnect or isolate the hob assembly from the Gas and Electricity supply, before
carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation.
To ensure correct and efficient operation of the Hob assembly, periodically wash/wipe all of the surfaces of
the assembly with a damp cloth.
Periodically wash in luke warm water after they have cooled to touch and remove any heavy deposits
gently from any of the following parts:
* the trivets – or the enamelled pan supports,
* the burner cap,
* the burner head,
* the burner-ring; if supplied.
Note: All of the components are freely mounted above the Hob surface and are easily removed without
tools.
* Never use aggressive or abrasive detergents or cleaning powders.
* All parts should be thoroughly rinsed and dried before re-assembly.
* Do not allow: cooking overspill, splashings of vinegar, coffee, milk, salted water, lemon or tomato juice,
or other corrasive material to remain on the surface of the Hob or components for any extended period of
time.
* Ensure that the Ignition plug is clean and free of foreign matter.
WARNINGS:
Ensure the following is carried out before re-assembling the components.
Check that the burner head slots are not clogged with foreign matter – carbon etc.
Ensure that the enamelled cap, burner head and ring; if supplied, are correctly positioned on the
burner base – wich protrudes through the Hob surface. The assembly must feel steady.
The Trivets or Pan-supports must be positioned, so that the rounded corners are set adjacent to
the side-edges of the Hob top-plate.
Do not force the Gas cocks/taps, if they are difficult to operate – open or close – contact the

ensure that the available gas supply matches the Data Label.
Before Leaving
Check all connections for gas leaks with soap and water.
DO NOT use a naked flame for detecting leaks. Ignite all burners to ensure correct operation of gas
valves, burners and ignition. Turn gas taps to low flame position and observe stability of the flame. Check
and adjust the gas pressure as per the Data Plate. When satisfied with the hotplate, please instruct the
user on the correct method of operation. In case the appliance fails to operate correctly after all checks
have been carried out, refer to the authorised service provider in your area.
8) GAS TAPS
Our gas taps are suitable for all gases, they are a male conical type.
“Reduced rate” adjustment
- Switch on the burner and turn the relevant knob to the “Reduced rate” position (small flame fig.1).
- Remove knob (fig. 15) of the tap, which is simply pressed on to its rod.
- Insert a small screwdriver “D” into the valve shaft (fig.15) and turn the throttle screw to the right or left
until the burner flame has been adequately regulated to the “Reduced rate” position.
Check that the flame does not go out when the knob is sharply switched from the “Full on” to the
“Reduced rate” position.
It is understood that only burners operating with Natural gas should be subjected to the above
mentioned adjustments. The screw must be fully locked when the burners operate with propane
gas.

9) REPLACING THE INJECTORS
The burners can be adapted to different types of gas by installing injectors suited to the type of gas
required. To do this, first remove the burner tops using a wrench “B”. Now unscrew injector “A” (see fig.
16) and fit a injector corresponding to the type of gas required.
It is advisable to tighten the injector in place.
After the injectors have been replaced, the burners must be regulated as explained in paragraphs
8. The technician must reset any seals on the regulating or pre-regulating devices and affix the
label corresponding to the new gas regulation on the appliance instead of the already existing
one. This label is supplied in the packet containing the spare injectors.
The envelope with the injectors and the labels can be included in the kit, or at disposal to the
authorized customer Service Centre.
For the sake of convenience, the nominal rate chart also lists the heat inputs of the burners, the diameter
of the injectors and the working pressures of the various types of gas.
