6 - Cabling, addressing and daisy chaining
Connecting the DMX remote control :
Connect the female plug of your XLR cable to your DMX remote control XLR output, then connect your cable
male output to the moving head. Daisy chain your moving heads with XLR cables.
1
2
R
3
120 Ω 1/4W
Using a DMX line termination :
When long runs of cable are used (more than 100m), you may need to use a terminator
on the last unit to avoid erratic behavior. A terminator is a 110-120 ohm 1/4 watt resistor
which is connected between pins 2 and 3 of a male XLR connector. This unit is inserted
in the female XLR connector of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line.
Adressing the units :
Every unit must have a DMX address in order to respond to DMX signals. The address corresponds to the
channel number on which the unit receives an incoming DMX signal sent by the DMX remote control. The
DMX addressing can be performed by programming the channel number via the display located on the base of
the unit.
You can either assign the same address to your units so they all react to the same signal, or assign a unique
address per unit to control them independently.
In the example above, the Evora-SP60 uses 14 channels.
You must skip 14 channels between each address you assign.
he address of the first unit will be 1, the second unit will be 15 (1+14), the third unit will be 29 (14+15) and so
on.
NB : Once switched on, the Evora-SP60 automatically detects any incoming DMX signal, and the display
indicates"A.001" (the unit DMX address). If the unit does not receive any DMX signal, the display will flash. In
such a case, please make sure the cable is properly plugged into the DMX input of your moving head, your
remote control is switched on and the cables used are not defective.

Configuration of the DMX address via a controller.
You will be able to address your Evora-SP60 via a DMX controller once this function has been activated (ON).
The channel 1 of the controller must be set to "7".
The channel 2 of the controller must be set to "7" for any address between 1 and 255, and to "8" for addresses
between 256 and 512. When channel 2 is to 8, the counting starts from 256.
Channel 3 determines the address:
Address 57 = channel 1 set to 7, channel 2 set to 7 and channel 3 set to 57.
Address 420 = channel 1 set to 7, channel 2 set to 8 and channel 3 set to 164 ; (256 + 164 = 420).
You now only need to wait about 20 secondes before the Evora-SP60 resets to apply the changes.

9.2 Gobos size
The Evora-SP60 features interchangeable gobos
allow you to customise the beam of the projector.
You will be required to indicate several parameters
in order to create custom-made gobos fitting both
the Evora-SP60 and your needs:
- The first parameter is the gobo size. The Evora-
SP60 uses gobos with an external diameter of
27mm.
- The second parameter is the size of the picture
area (where the pattern will be drawn). This zone
cannot exceed a 25mm diameter.
- The third parameter is about the material used
to create a new gobo. Metal gobos are perfect
for basic patterns, such as the ones supplied
with the moving head. More complex patterns
(companies logos or precise drawings) will require
glass gobos.
-The last criteria is the gobo depth: it must NOT exceed 2 mm.

Once switched on the unit will launch an initialisation. The display will indicate "XXEr" if a problem occurs
with one or several channels. If a problem occurs on channel 1 the display will indicate « 01Er » , « 02Er »
for channel 2, and so on.
If you encounter problems with channel 1, 2 and 5, the following message will be indicated: « 01Er »,
« 02Er », « 05Er ». It will flash 5 times. The device will then reset and all motors will go back to their initial
position. If the message keeps ocurring after 3 resets, there are more than 3 errors. The channels cannot
operate properly if there are more than 3 errors. If less than 3 errors, the concerned channels will be
deactivated but the projector can be operated.

: Error on the focus channel.
This message appears after the initialisation of the unit if the the magnetic position sensor of the prism is
defective or misplaced.
Errors may have various origins. Sensors are used to set the motors in their default position.
Either the magnetic sensors are defective, or the magnets have been displaced.
Problems might also come from a defective motor or the motor electronic management.
In any case, please write down the error displayed and contact your retailer to launch a maintenance
procedure.
Do NOT attempt to repair it by yourself as only Contest-approved technicians are allowed to perform
