Barrier compact is a water filtration system that utilizes the latest advancements in water treatment technologies. Its filter cartridge contains the most effective and efficient materials and components for filtering tap water.

Barrier compact is easy to use. To start, fill the reservoir with cold tap water. The water should not be over 105°F. Once the reservoir is full, place the funnel reservoir into the top portion of the pitcher. The filtered water volume scale will help you measure the amount of filtered water you have. You can also use the measuring scale to measure water without using the funnel and cartridge.

When washing in dishwasher please remove lid with programmable
electronic indicator and wash it by hand.
Do not try to change the batteries for the electronic lter life indicator.

4.4. Reactivate the timer by pressing the button and holding it down for a few
seconds. (the number of users remains unchanged).
Note: You can easily change the number of users by entering the users' setting
mode: Quickly double press the button, then repeat the steps 2.2. and 2.3. When
the users' number is changed the lter life is re-calculated automatically.

and repeat steps 1.2 to 1.5.

parts carefully.
Knowing when to replace
the lter cartridge
When the blinking warning symbol (“X”) appears on cartridge image in the
display, it means that the lter cartridge should be replaced within one week.
As the week passes all symbols on the screen start blinking reminding you that
lter cartridge life has expired. Replace the lter cartridge at this time.
Please remove the old lter cartridge and repeat the procedure for preparation
of the lter for use described in Items 4.1-4.3.
After installation of a replacement lter cartridge, turn the lid over and change
the date of the lter replacement indicator.

BARRIER water ltration systems utilize the latest advancements in water
treatment technologies. Each lter cartridge contains the most eective and
ecient materials and components for ltering tap water. However, the lter
cartridge resources and capabilities are limited and should only be used for the
period of time recommended. In order to maintain the quality of the water, it is
necessary to change the lter cartridge at the correct date shown on the
calendar indicator on the top of the lid for best results. The calendar indicator
will remind you the proper time to change the lter cartridge.
Please remove the old lter and repeat the procedure for preparation of the
lter for use described in Items 4.1-4.3
The date indicated for lter replacement is a reminder that the useful life of the lter
has expired and should be replaced at that time.

down for several

cartridge appears in
the display. The timer
is now activated.

on the screen. Once
you release the
button, the blinking
symbol for users
appears on the screen.
Note: The indicator switches o if the button is not pressed within 30 seconds
before the timer is programmed. If this occurs. please, repeat steps 2.1- 2.3.

After installation of a

1. Only use the lter for its intended purpose.
2. Keep the lter cartridge in the original sealed wrapper while not in use and store
in a dry cool place.
3. When lling the funnel reservoir, do not place the lter cartridge opening directly
under the running water.
4. Wash your lter pitcher and funnel reservoir regularly with soapy water, rinse and
then dry with a soft cloth.
5. When using regularly, do not leave the lter pitcher empty (keep lter pitcher
lled with water).
6. Keep the lter away from direct sunlight or excessive heat sources for extended
periods of time.
7. When lter is not to be used for a long period of time (more than 3 days) it should
be left empty and dry during this period. Before using it again, please follow the
instructions in “Before the rst time use” section.

Getting started
Before the rst time use
1.1. Rinse the
pitcher parts.
1.2. Screw the
cartridge rmly into
the funnel reservoir.
1.3. Place the funnel
reservoir into the top
portion of the pitcher.
1.5. Repeat step 1.4 twice
and discard the ltered
water as this will rinse
away any loose activated
carbon particles and will
prepare the lter cartridge
for use.
1.6. When pouring ltered
water, hold the funnel
reservoir lever down with
your thumb.

Filter cartridge should be replaced after 3 months of use regardless
of the amount of treated water used.

The pitcher is supplied with a BARRIER-4 Standard replaceable lter cartridge
for tap water. The lter cartridge contains a combination of high quality
activated carbon and ion exchangers to reduce aesthetic chlorine from the
water. It also reduces unpleasant odor and improves taste.
Each pitcher is equipped with a device that is designed to keep you informed
about the lter life status and to let you know when it is necessary to replace
the lter cartridge for optimum performance. Failing to replace the lter
cartridge after its useful life has expired will aect its performance.

The Eco, Grand, Premia, Grand Neo, Norma, Extra and Style pitcher systems
have been tested according to NSF/ANSI 42/53 for reduction of the
substances listed in the tables to the right utilizing any BARRIER cartridges.
The concentration of each of the indicated substances in the tables in
water entering the system was reduced to a concentration less than or
equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specied in
NSF/ANSI 42/53.
The Eco, Grand, Premia, Grand Neo, Norma, Extra and Style pitcher systems
have been tested according to NSF/ANSI 372 for Drinking Water System
Components – Low Lead Content.
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown
quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
