When cutting cheese, or when cutting very –
thin slices of other foods, use a slightly
moist cloth to wipe the blade rst. is
will make the slicing process easier.
When cutting ham, ensure that the fatty –
side is facing upwards.
General cleaning and care
General
Always remove the plug from the wall z
socket before detaching any accessories,
and before cleaning the appliance.
A er switching o , always wait until the z
blade has come to a complete standstill.
Bring the stop plate back to its rest (zero)
position, so that the blade does not
protrude.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not z
clean the appliance with water and do not
immerse it in water.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning z
solutions for cleaning. If necessary, the
housing may be wiped with a slightly
damp, lint-free cloth. e end-piece
holder and the sliding tray can be cleaned
using hot water and a mild detergent (do
not put them in a dish-washer).
Detaching the slicer assembly
e slicer assembly (consisting of the stop
plate and blade) can be detached to facilitate
cleaning. Bring the stop plate into its rest
position and take o the end-piece holder and
sliding tray. Release the slide lock and fold
the slicer assembly with blade and stop plate
down onto the base plate. Take the power
cord out of its wind-up storage. Position the
appliance vertically, push the locking button
(see diagram), and slide the base plate rst
slightly to the le , and then to the rear. A er
cleaning, follow the same steps in reverse to
re-assemble the appliance.
Detaching and cleaning the blade
e blade is extremely sharp - there is z
a risk of serious injury if proper care is
not taken.
e stainless-steel blade can be cleaned with
a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
e area behind the blade should also be
cleaned occasionally. To remove the blade,
loosen the central xing screw by turning it
90° in a clockwise direction and take out the
blade.
A er cleaning, re-attach the blade following
the same steps in reverse order.
Space-saving storage
A er cleaning, the unit can be folded up for
space-saving storage. Bring the stop plate
into its rest position and take o the end-
piece holder and sliding tray. Release the slide
lock and fold the slicer assembly down onto
the base plate. Turn the unit upside down and
place the sliding tray and end-piece holder
into their respective storage compartments.
Ensure that the nger guard of the sliding
tray ts underneath the locking catch. Wind
the power cord around the storage lugs.
Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective
appliances in domestic garbage;
this should only be done through
public collection points.
