Dakota Digital HDX Instrument Installation
For 1978-’82 Corvette

1. Remove the stock main gauge cluster and the center gauge cluster from the dash and save all center
gauge hardware for reassembly.

only items to be reused are the front bezel and the gauge mounting
hardware. Now is a good time to clean or refinish the bezel.
3. Peel the paper off the two block-off lenses needed
(636234-A and 636234-B) and place them shiny side
down in the two rectangular openings. Use silicone to
hold them in place and avoid handling until the silicone
has cured.

4. With the block-off lenses in place, position the HDX center gauges over the back of the center
bezel and secure the system by using the four (4) stock mounting screws.
5. Attach a main harness and the clock harness to the back of the HDX display.
Carefully route the other ends of the main harnesses to the control box mounting
location as the display is installed into the dash using the factory hardware.

8. Refer to the main manual for wiring instructions to complete the HDX installation.
7. Connect the provided Y harness to the control box so both main harnesses can be connected.
6. Connect the main harness and the buzzer (optional for audio feedback) to the back of the HDX main
display; carefully route the other end of the main harness to the control box mounting location as the
display is installed into the dash using the five (5) supplied 1” screws.
