Getting to Know Your Phone

Charge the phone
Connect the
USB cable to your
phone.
Insert the other
end of the USB
cable into the power adapter.
Plug in the power adapter to an
electrical outlet to start charging.
Important: Please use the power
adapter and USB cable that came in the
box for optimum battery performance.
Turn on your phone
Press and hold the power button on
the top panel.

Getting Started
After initial setup, log into Facebook to
get the best experience on your phone.
Log into Facebook

Sign Up for Facebook.
Update your contact info
Make sure you add your new number to
your Facebook account.
Open the Facebook app.
 Tap , then tap your name.
Tap your name, then tap About
(under your cover photo).
 Tap About, then scroll down to the
Contact section to update your first
phone number.

Allow app updates
Make sure you’re always using the
best version of Facebook by allowing
automatic updates.
Open the Play Store app. Log in if you
haven’t yet.
Search for the Facebook app.
 Tap Allow automatic updating for
Facebook to make sure your app
stays current.
To open the app launcher from your
cover feed, press and hold your profile
picture, then drag it to .
Share directly to Facebook:
• Tap to post a status.
• Tap to post a photo.
• Tap to check into a location.
Customize your app launcher
You can add your favorite apps to the
app launcher for easy access.
From the app launcher, swipe right to
see a list of all your apps.
Press and hold an app to drag it to
your app launcher on the right.

Turn on NFC and Android Beam
Open the Settings app.

Make sure that the NFC and Android
Beam options are turned on.
Share content with NFC
Make sure that both devices have
NFC and Android Beam turned on.
While viewing the content that you
want to share, hold your device and
the other device back to back.
You’ll hear a sound and both devices
will vibrate slightly when connected.

Tethering and Mobile Hotspot*
• To use tethering, attach the device
you want to tether to your phone with
a USB cable. On the All apps screen,
tap Settings > More > Tethering &
portable hotspot. Select the USB
tethering option.
• To enable a portable hotspot, tap
Settings on the All apps screen, then
tap More > Tethering & portable
hotspot > Set up Wi-Fi hotspot. Enter
your hotspot settings, then tap Save.
Select Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to turn
on.
