Before to Operation
1. Plug in the power plug properly:
2. Use. a dedi_ted circuit. Overloading the line could create a fire hazard.

We strongly discourage the use of an adapter due to, p_tential safety hazards.
For tempora_ connections, use only a UL-listed adapter, available from most
local hardware stores. Ensure that the large slot in the adapter is aligned with
the large s_ot in the receptacle for a proper polarity connection.
To disconn_t the _wer cord from the adapter, use one hand on each to avoid
damaging the ground terminal. Avoid frequently unplugging the iF_wer cord as
this can lead to,eventual ground terminal damage.

down and .away from the fins to .avoid injury,
This air conditioner is _uip_d with a slinger
fan_
The fan has an oL,_erring that runs in the water
that collars in the base pan if _ gets. deep,. That
conden_te is then picked up, by the fan and
ex_ll_ through the condenser, making the air
conditioner more efficient.

The Air Filter will become dirty as it removes
dust from the inside air. tt should _ wash_ at
least _ery 2 weeks.. IIfthe Air Fi_er remains fu_
d dust, the air fl_ will decrea_ and the
cooling capacity will _ reduce, _ssib_y
damaging the unit..
• Pull the inlet gillie forward, grasping both
sides, then pull ,out the air fi_er:
* Wash the Air Fi_er under the faucet with
warm water. Be sure to shake oN al! the water
before replacing the filter.
Air Condffioner Cleaning
Clean the front grille and inlet grille by wiping
with a ,cloth dampen_ in a mild detergent
solution.
The cabinet may be washed with mi_d soap or
,detergent and lukewarm water:, then _]ished
with ][qu[dappliance wax.
To ensure. (>ontinued peak efficiency., the
condenser coils. (outd_r side at the uni9,
should _ check_ periodically and cleaned if
they b_ome clogged with soot or di_ from the
atmosphere, Brush or vacuum exterior coi_s to
remove debris from fins.

How to remove the Front Grille
• Remove the scr_ _curing the Front GrHle_
° Push the grille up from the _ttom and pull
the top of the gir[lle away from the case to ]fit
the top tabs out of their slots.

inuring the _bs on the grille into the slots

Before Calling for Service
If you have problems with your air conditioner, read] the fo!lowing information and
try to solve the problem If you cannot find a solution, turn off the air conditioner
and contact your dealer.
Air conditioner does not operate
i ,.Ensure that the air _nditiioneir isi plugg_ into a proper outlet.
2, Check the fuse or cimuit breaker°
3. Check whetheir the voltage is unusually high or low.
Air does not feel cold ,enough on the cooling setting
i. Ensure that the temperature settings are correct.
2. Ch_k to see if the air filter iiisclogged with dust. if so, clean the filter.
3. Ensure that the air flow from the outside is not obstruct_ and that there is a
clearance of over 20" between the back ,ofthe air conditioner and the wall or
fence behind it.
4. Close, all doors and windows and check for any _urce of heat in the r_m
Before calling for service, please review the following list of common
problems and solutions
The air conditioner is operating normally when:
• You hear a pinging noise This is caused by water being pick_ up by the fan on
rainy days or in highly humid _nditions. This feature is designed to help remove
moisture in the air and improve cooling efficiency.
See the section on Slinger Fan, page 17.
• You hear the thermos_t click. This is caused by the compressor cycle starting
and sitopping.
• "Yousee water dripping from the rear of the unit. Water may be collected in the
base pan in highly humid ,conditions or on rainy days. This water ove#iows and
drips from the rear of the unit.
• You hear the fan running while the compressor is silent. This is a normal
operational feature.
