Asus Windows Tablet User Set-up Guide
Welcome to your new ASUS VivoTab Note 8 Windows Tablet! The following will assist you in setting up
your new tablet for first use.
Powering On:
Press and hold (about 3 seconds) the power button on the right side of the tablet to power on the
device.
Logging into your account:
You will login to your tablet as you would any other district Windows-based computer.
Swipe up to unlock. Tap “Other User”.
In the Username field, enter your RJUHSD username.
This is the same username you use to login to your computer.
Next, enter your password.
This is the same password you use to login to your computer.
If you have entered your credentials correctly you will be logged in and the Windows 8.1 Start Screen
will load.
Sign into a Microsoft account:
If you wish to download new applications and experience other Microsoft services, you will need to have
your own Microsoft account.
From the Start Screen, swipe right and tap PC settings.
Tap on Accounts. Choose “Connect to a Microsoft account”
Make sure all items are checked and tap Next.
From here, you can sign into your Microsoft account, or choose “Create a new account” towards the
bottom of the screen.
Follow the prompts to create your new Microsoft account.
This account is separate from your district account, however it is recommend that you use your district
email address for this account (example@rjuhsd.us)
Access your email:
From the Start Screen, tap to open the Mail application.
Click Next.
Enter your Microsoft account information that you just created, and click Next to login.
Tap I can’t do this right now to bypass the 2-step verification.
Click Next.
Click Connect.
Now, click Exchange.
Click Show more details.
Enter your email address ([email protected]s).
Enter mail.rjuhsd.us for the server address.
Enter RJUHSD for the domain.
Enter your username (first intial, last name).
Enter your password.
Click Connect.
Click Enforce these policies.
The application will now sync with the server and download your emails.
Access your email using Outlook 2013 (optional):
If you wish to access your email through the desktop Outlook 2013 application instead of or in addition
to the default Mail application, the following will walk you through how to set that up.
Note: Outlook 2013 will only work when you are connected to the district network. (RJUHSD-Staff)
On the Start Screen, swipe up to access all apps.
Under Microsoft Office 2013, tap Outlook 2013 to load Outlook.
Click through the Next and Finish prompts and Outlook will configure your account for first use.
You now have access to your district email account through Outlook 2013.

First and Last name
Username (example@rjuhsd.us)
Password
Confirm your password
Zip Code
Birthdate
Gender
Phone Number
Enter the security verification code in the field provided.
Uncheck Send me promotional offers from Microsoft.
Click Create Account
You have now created your new Microsoft Account.
