Automatic Defrost
At low room temperatures, frost may buildup at the evaporator, and the air
conditioner will, at some point during operation, perform an auto “defrost” cycle.
Some owners feel that this is a fault because the unit isn’t performing as well as it
should. Defrosting is a normal part of the operation, and is not a fault with the
product.
The unit will automatically start defrosting and the POWER light flashes. The
defrost control sequence is as follows:
When the compressor runs for more than 20 minutes, the temperature sensor
begins measuring the temperature. Defrost starts when the temperature sensor
senses a temperature ≤34°F/1℃for 3 minutes, the compressor stops working,
and the fan runs at high speed, the power light flashes. When the temperature is
detected ≥45°F/7℃, the unit will automatically stop the defrosting. The
compressor restarts in 3 minutes, and the temperature sensor begins measuring
again.
Overload Protection
After a power outage, it takes 3 minutes for the compressor to restart.
