HOW TO REGISTER YOUR EXPANDABLE HANDSET (D702HS, D703HS, D704HS)
TO YOUR MAIN BASE (D702, D703, D704, D712, D714, E814, E814CC, E713CC)
TERMS TO KNOW:
PAGE/FLASH, FIND, and HS LOC are terms used interchangeably.
Your telephone (sold separately) can support up to 4 additional handsets in addition to the main
base. The additional handset(s) needs to register with the telephone base before use. You must
register each additional handset separately.
The handset(s) provided with your main unit (sold separately) are already registered as
HANDSET 1 and so forth. Additional handsets are assigned numbers in order they are registered
(HANDSET 2 up to HANDSET 5).
When first purchased, all expansion handsets alternately display:
• 1. Press HS LOC on base 4 sec
• 2. Then press # on handset
The new handset should be charged without interruption for at least 30 minutes before
registering to the telephone base.
HOW TO ADD (REGISTER) YOUR HANDSET TO THE MAIN UNIT (SOLD SEPERATELY)
NOTE: You must be in close proximity of your main unit’s base in order to register the
handset; please move to where you can access the PAGE/FLASH (E713,E814,E814CC) or
FIND (D702,D703,D704,D712,D714).
1. In idle mode, the handsets screen alternatively displays 1. Press HS LOC on base 4 sec 2. The
press # on handset. Press and hold down the Page/Flash or Find (depending upon which main
base you have) for 4 seconds.
2. Press # (pound key) on the handset. The screen will display REGISTERING…PLEASE WAIT
When the handset is registered successfully, HANDSET registered and then HANDSET X
appears on the screen, with X being the handset number (1-5).
If the registration is not successful, the handset screen shows REGISTRATION FAILED. Please
start again from step 1 above. NOTE: you cannot register a handset if any other system
handset is in use. To register an expansion handset follow steps above.
