INDUCTION HOTPLATE BASIC 1800
Model: C18G (CE/EMC)
Temperature range: 60 - 240 °C
Power: 1800 W
Connection: 230 V ~ 50 Hz
With induction hotplates, an electric voltage is applied on a conductor spool be-
neath the glass ceramic surface. This creates magnetic fi elds, which directly heat
up the bottom of the cookware through a physical effect. This means saving time
and energy, because contrary to common hotplates, the cookware is heated up,
not the heating element and the glass ceramic surface.
GENERAL USE
Plug the power plug into a suitable outlet.
The control lamp of the On/Off switch lights up and an acoustic signal
sounds. Now the device is in standby mode.

Now press the On/Off switch to turn on the induction hotplate. The “Power

TIPS ON USING YOUR BARBECUE
Always barbecue using the “Temperature” function at level 180°C.
FIRST USE
We strongly recommend to
clean the griddle
and have it
heat for 30 minutes on low
temperature (120°C) without cooking any food.
PREPARATION
Heat the griddle of your barbecue for up to 10 minutes on low temperature (120°C)
before adding any food. While the griddle is designed to have different tempera-
ture zones, it is possible to heat the griddle evenly by moving it sideways.

COOKING
Always barbecue using the “Temperature” function at level 180°C. Make use of a
cooking and a warming zone by sliding the griddle sideways, instead of moving
the food around.
Note: Food may stick if turned too soon after being placed on the griddle. Let food
cook for a few minutes before turning it, so that it will have time to sear properly.
AFTER USE
Press the On/Off switch to turn off the induction hotplate. When the food is ready,
you may also want to put the griddle with food on the table. By taking the griddle
off the hotplate, the device automatically switches to standby mode. One minute
later it will shut down.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the plug from the socket and allow the
griddle and electrical appliance to cool down:
Clean the griddle after each use. Do not use metal scourers or abrasive
cleaners of any kind. Use sponge or plastic scourer only. Alternatively, you
can wash the griddle with a special barbecook
®
cleaner, mild detergent or
baking soda, but do not use a commercial oven cleaner.
Always clean the induction hotplate to avoid discoloration or burned stains.
Use a non-abrasive cleaning agent and a damp cloth. You can use a vacuum
cleaner to suck up dirt from the ventilation openings.
Clean the lid with the barbecook
®
stainless steel cleaner.
STORAGE
To get many years of service out of your barbecue: Always store the electrical
appliance indoors when not in use. Cover the barbecue with the barbecook
®
cover if it is to be stored outdoors.

The barbecook
®

defects, from the date of purchase and to the extent to which use of the appli-
ance corresponds with these instructions for use. The receipt stating the date of
