NiMH / NiCd Battery Program
“Charge is by default set in manual” mode. In
this mode it will charge the battery at the
current you have selected in the display.
Changing the mode to auto” you will need to
set the upper limit of the charge current to
avoid higher feeding currents that may damage
the battery. Batteries with low impedance and
small capacity can be incorrectly recognized by
the auto charge mode leading to higher,
incorrect charge current.
“Delta Peak” is the trigger voltage for automatic
charge termination of NiMH and NiCd batteries.
The eective value ranges from 5 to 20mV per
cell. If the voltage is set higher there is a danger
of overcharging the battery. If it is set lower
there is a possibility of premature termination.
Please refer to the technical specications of
the battery. (NiCd: 12mV, NiMH: 8mV)
“Discharge” mode allows you to discharge your
battery in a range from 0.1A to 5.0A and the
nal voltage ranges from 0.1 to 24.0V. The
operating method is similar to Lithium
batteries. The nal voltage of a NiMH battery is
1.0V/cell and the NiCd is 0.85V/cell. Please refer
your battery manufacturer for the
recommended nal voltage per cell
for your battery.
“Cycle” mode allows the charger to
discharge/charge or charge/discharge the
battery 1-5 complete cycles to maximize the
batteries mAh potential. This is best for a new
battery, or one that has sat unused for an
extended period of time. Care must be taken to
ensure all the settings are correct or damage to
the battery may occur. To set the parameter,
please follow the “cycle set” menu.
When a NiMH or NiCd battery is performing a
cycle” charge, the pack may become warm. The
“Delay Timer setting will allow you to adjust
the time in between charge and discharge
functions allowing the pack to momentarily
cool. Ten minutes is a typical setting, but
recommendations for your pack may dier
depending on manufacturer.

Lithium Batteries Program
This charger can accept three dierent chemistry variations of Lithium batteries:
LiPo/Li-Ion/LiFe. Please conrm that the charger has been set to the proper chemistry for the
battery that is being charged.
Each lithium chemistry has three modes
available: Charge”, “Discharge” and “Storage”.
In “Charge Mode select the correct voltage
capacity for the battery you are charging. DO
NOT CHANGE THE END VOLTAGE SETTING TO
EXCEED 4.20V per cell. Overcharging your
batteries can shorten their lifespan, cause
damage to the battery or charger, and in severe
cases, create conditions that could cause a re.
Always follow the recommendations of your
battery manufacturer. To start the charge or
discharge process, press and hold the “Enter”
button for more than two seconds, then press
“Start.
“Discharge Mode” LiPo batteries theoretically
do not need to be discharged like older NiMH
and NiCD battery technologies. If you are
storing your batteries for an extended period,
please see “Storage Mode below. If you do
discharge your battery using the charger,
always be sure to use the balance connector to
ensure that no cell within the pack goes below
3.00V/Cell.
“Storage Mode” Use this mode when you are
going to store your batteries for an extended
period of time. Depending on your cell type,
set the nominal voltage to the desired setting
(Li-Ion: 3.75v, LiPo: 3.85v, LiFe: 3.3v). The
“Storage Mode” will automatically detect if the
cells need to be charged or discharged and will
bring the battery to the desired voltage level. To
use this mode the balance lead of the battery
must be connected to the charger.
This screen shows the number of cells you
selected (set) and the number of cells the
charger detects (read). Both numbers should
match. If the numbers do not match, press
“ESC”, check your connections and conrm your
battery information before attempting to
charge again.
Elapsed charge/discharge time.
Displays the internal resistance of the
battery pack.
Indicates peak temperature measured by the
temp sensor. If a sensor is not connected
“no sens will be displayed.

Notice: The charger will set the charge
current to a 1C rate automatically, based on
the capacity setting you choose. To
manually override this setting, allowing
charging at a higher C rate, adjust the
current” value. (Only suitable for batteries
that allow a higher charger rate. Consult
your battery manual for details.)

LiHv Battery Program
CAUTION! This program is for use with High Voltage LiPo batteries ONLY. Using LiHV
mode with a standard LiPo will result in and overcharge condition creating excessive
heat that can cause re and serious injury.
LiHV operations are similar to standard LiPo charging
sequences, only the “End Voltage value is changed.
CAUTION! Check you LiHV battery manual for the recommended end voltage. Not setting
the voltage to the correct parameter can result in and overcharge condition creating
excessive heat that can cause re and serious injury.

This program is for charging Pb (lead acid) batteries with a nominal voltage of 2 to 20V. PB
batteries CANNOT be charged rapidly. They only deliver relatively lower currents compared to
their capacity. The optimal charge current will be 1/10 of the capacity. Please always follow the
instructions supplied by the battery manufacturer.
In this mode, the charger can provide DC output power (3.0V-24V) for
other electronic equipment.
The Venom Pro Touch charger is protected against faults and operator errors by a multi-protec-
tion system. Faults/Errors are displayed on the LCD screen and they interrupt the active process
to protect the charger and battery from damage.

Forming Battery Program
A “forming charge is a special function to reactivate NiMH/NiCd batteries which
have not been used for extended periods of time.
The charger will automatically adjust the current
based on the capacity you select. As a general
rule, a forming charge will be 1/10 of your mAh
rating. For example, a 5000mAh battery will
have a 500mAh charge current. A 2000mAh
battery would have a 200mAh charge current.
Typical time frame for a forming charge is 16-20
hours. Consult your battery manufacturer for
recommendations for your battery model.
Using the “Trickle” function will switch the
charge to trickle rate once the forming charge is
done. This can be set at Auto which will use the
mAh rating you set as the basis of charge
current, or you can manually set the trickle rate
from 50mAh-200mAh.
