INSTALLATION
1. Remove modular plug on the coiled cord from the end of
the old handset. This plug is easily removed by by pressing
the tab on the plug, and pulling away from the receptacle
(opening). (See Figure 2)
2. Re-insert this plug into the receptacle (opening) on the
end of the handset. Be sure it “snaps” into place.
This completes the installation of the modular handset.
OPER ATION
The transmit volume of this handset is controlled with the
rotary volume control, conveniently located on the handle
of the handset.
1. To increase the volume of the sound from the trans-
mitter, rotate the volume control wheel upward. The
volume control rotates very easily, requiring only a
slight touch of the fingertips to adjust the sound to your
ideal listening level. (See Figure 3)
2. Normal transmit sound is obtained when the volume
control wheel rotated downward until it stops.

This amplified transmitter handset is designed to provide increased volume to the
outgoing sound for the convenience of the user under a variety of conditions. The
electronic circuitry is completely contained
in the handset with these exclusive features:

3. After familiarizing yourself with the ease of operation
of this handset, there will be no further need for you to
look at the rotary volume control while adjusting the
sound. This can easily be accomplished while holding
the handset.
SPECIFICATIONS
Amplifier: Normal gain of 26 dB to outgoing sound.
Receiver: Compatiible with hearing aids.
MAINTENANCE
The volume control handset may be cleaned when necessary
with a mild detergent. Use damp (not wet) cloth. Never use
abrasives or solvents.
This handset is designed for long service and dependable
operation. If any problem with your telephone service
occurs, disconnect the volume control handset. If the
trouble still exists, notify your telephone company. If such
disconnection ends the problem, the volume control hand-
set may be the source of the trouble and should be repaired
before reconnecting.
FCC regulations require that the repair of customer-owned
phones must be performed by the manufacturer of such
equipment.
Proof of original purchase date (sales receipt) must be
mailed with the unit when requesting warranty service.

LIMITED WARRANTY
*
Clarity warrants each item of new telephone equipment manufactured by it against defects
in material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.
Your purchase includes the following warranty which is in lieu of all other express warran-
ties. This warranty starts upon purchase. It stops if you rent, sell, give away, put any foreign
device on the equipment, or at the expiration of the applicable warranty period. Clarity
agrees to repair, or at its own option, replace any defective equipment or part therof,
without charge for either parts or labor.
The duration of any and all express and implied warranties shall extend for a period of one
(1) year from the date of original purchase.
It is the responsibility of the person who installs the equipment to correctly install for
proper operation. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse
or abuse, improper installation or operation, lack of reasonable care, the afxing of any
attachment not provided with the product and loss of parts and is voided in the event any
unauthorized person alters or repairs the equipment.

Telephone companies use different types of equipment and Clarity does not warrant that
its equipment is compatible with the equipment of a particular telephone company.
If failure occurs and your equipment is under warrant, service shall be provided by return-
ing the equipment, with shipping costs prepaid, to the following address:

The equipment will be repaired or replaced if examination by Clarity determines the equip-
ment to be defective. Equipment received damaged as a result of shipping will require you
to file a claim with the carrier.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary
from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, inciden-
tial or consequencial damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the
above exclusion and limitation may not apply to you.
