Congratulations on your purchase of the IMO-720. This unique vehicle
immobilizer device requires no interaction on the part of the operator. When
your key fob transponder is within range of the ignition switch, the immobilizer
logic circuit allows the vehicle to start. If an attempt is made to start your
vehicle without the proper key fob transponder, the IMO-720 would interrupt
two circuits in your vehicle, thereby preventing operation. The key fob
transponder requires no batteries therefore no maintenance.
The system features passive, (automatic), arming, two user key fob
transponders, user accessed valet mode, programmable custom code
override, and two inhibit circuits to insure vehicle protection.
In addition, the circuit has a built in safety feature that reinstates the
circuit to the last mode it was in if the vehicle battery is disconnected
and then reconnected. This means that if the circuit is armed, and the
battery is disconnected, when the battery is reconnected, the unit will
be powered up in the armed state. This feature is the same for all
modes of operation, armed, disarmed and the valet mode.
OPERATION:
Arming the System:
Simply turn the ignition switch to the off position and remove the key. This
begins the automatic arming sequence, indicated by the dash mounted
LED rapidly flashing.
After 15 seconds, the unit is fully armed, this is indicated by the LED’s slow,
steady flash pattern.
While armed, the vehicle will not start even with the ignition key, unless a proper
coded key fob transponder is within range of the ignition switch, (Appx. 6”).
Disarming The System:
To disarm the system, using your ignition key with the proper coded key fob
transponder attached, and within 6“ of the ignition switch, start your vehicle
as you normally would. As long as the coded transponder is within range of
the ignition switch, your vehicle will start and operate properly.
The dash mounted LED will turn off indicating that the unit is disarmed. The
operation of the IMO-720 is simple and, almost transparent to the operator.
The transponder is attached to the vehicle key ring. All normal operating
modes take place naturally as long as the proper transponder is within
range of the ignition switch when starting the vehicle and, out of range when
arming.
Valet Operation:
At times it may become necessary to place the system in a temporary
bypassed mode. Typically this mode is used for valet parking or garage
service where you do not want the attendant to have your transponder or
access to the program mode of your system.
To Enter The Valet Service Mode:
1. With the ignition switch in the on position, disarm the unit with a
programmed transponder or by use of the override sequence.
2. Press and hold the valet/override push button until the dash
mounted LED turns on, (Appx. 5 seconds).
3. Release the push button switch. The vehicle can now be started
and driven without the use of the keychain transponder.

6. Within 10 seconds, begin to press and release the push button switch
to set the units digit.
(As per the example, press and release 2 times to set the units digit to 2).
7. Turn the ignition switch to the off position. Immediately observe the
LED flash pattern.
You will note the LED flashing five times, pause, and then flash two times,
pause. This pattern will be repeated three times indicating the new code
(52) has been accepted and stored in memory.
NOTE: If after step 7, the LED begins to flash rapidly, this indicates that the
code has not been changed. You will have to repeat steps 1 through 7
above being certain to note the following:
Acceptable digits 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not recognize
a 0 (Zero), or no digit entered in any place, units or tenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off
for more then 5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert
back to the last successfully stored code.
If your transponder is lost, broken, or you desire to program additional
transponders for other operators, follow the procedure listed below:
NOTE: Before beginning the programming sequence, have all transponders
you wish to have operate the vehicle available and within reach. When you
enter the program mode, all transponders are erased, only the
transponders programmed during the following sequence will be
capable of operating the vehicle when you’ve finished programming.
NOTE: It is important that no transponder is attached to your ignition key or
within range of the Exciter Coil until instructed to do so.
Programming Additional Or Replacement Transponders:
Start with all doors closed, and the ignition switch off.
1. Open the vehicle door.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “on” position.
3. Disarm the system using an already programmed transponder.
(LED Turns Off)
If neither transponder is available, disarm the system by use of the
manual override sequence.
4. Within 5 seconds, begin to cycle the ignition switch “off”, then “on” 3 times.
(LED Turns On)
5. Within 10 seconds of the LED turning on, hold the first to be programmed
transponder within range of the exciter coil until the LED flashes one
time and then turns off.
Move the transponder away from the coil, and then,
6. Repeat step 5 for each additional transponder to be programmed up
to a total of four.
NOTE: The LED will flash 2, 3, or 4 times with each added transponder.
The system will exit the program mode when the fourth transponder is
added, if the ignition switch is turned off, or if 10 seconds of inactivity
expires between any of the above steps.
Once you’ve completed the program procedure, it is suggested that you test
all transponders by allowing the system to arm, (LED Flashing), turning the
ignition switch on, then placing a transponder within 6” of the ignition switch,
(Exciter Coil). (Confirm The LED Turns Off). Repeat this for each transponder.

To Exit The Valet Service Mode:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.
2. Press and release the valet/override push button switch. The dash
mounted LED will turn off.
The system is now returned to protect mode of operation and will begin to
arm once the ignition switch is turned off.
Manual Override:
If your transponder is lost, broken, or otherwise rendered inoperable, your
system can be overridden allowing operation of the vehicle. The manual
override code is pre-programmed at the factory to 11. This code can be
changed by the operator to a more familiar two digit number. Once you’ve
become familiar with the system’s operation and override procedure, we
suggest you change the code for added security.
NOTE: The override procedure below describes use, assuming that the
factory preset code has not been changed and is still set to the factory
default 11. The valet/override push button switch is used to enter the tenths
and units digits, pressing and releasing this button one time for each digit
required.
To manually override your system, with a code of 11, follow the sequence
listed below:
1. LED is flashing indicating unit is armed, turn the ignition switch to
the “on” position.
2. Within 10 seconds begin to enter tenths digit of override code. (In this
example the code is 11, so press and release the Valet/Override
push-button one time).
3. Within 10 seconds of entering the last tenths digit, turn ignition “off then on”.
4. Within 10 seconds of the ignition switch turning on, begin to enter
units digit of override code. (In this example the code is 11, so press
and release the Valet/Override push-button one time).
5. Within 5 seconds after the last units digit is entered, turn the ignition
switch off, then on and start your vehicle.
If the manual override code is entered properly, the LED turns off indicating
a successful override. The system is now disarmed and you can start and
operate your vehicle. The unit will allow three attempts to disarm via manual
override. If the code is not successfully entered within the three attempts,
the manual override mode is locked for 10 minutes.
In many cases, to increase the security of your system, you may elect to
change the manual override code to a number that is more familiar to you,
or simply to have a different code than was pre-assigned from the factory.
To change the pre-assigned override code follow the steps outlined below.
It is advised that you read both sections under the headings “Programming
Your Custom Override Code” and, “Custom Code Programming Example”,
to completely understand the procedure before beginning.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlike override switches easily found, and defeated, the IMO-720 allows
the consumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level
of security. The system comes from the factory with a pre-programmed
override code of 11.
NOTE: Before beginning the following procedure, be certain to separate all
transponders from your ignition key. The transponder will be used, but
only when asked to do so.
To change this default override code, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the “on” position and disarm the system
using either an programmed transponder or by use of the override
sequence.
2. Within 5 seconds of step 1, Press and Hold the push-button switch
and while holding the switch, begin to cycle the ignition switch “off”,
then “on” 5 times. Release the push-button switch.
3. Within 10 seconds of step 2 place a coded transponder within range
of the exciter coil. The LED will flash 3 times, pause, 3 times, pause,
then turn on solid, this indicates that the unit is ready to accept the
new disarm code.
4. Within ten seconds of the LED turning on, begin to enter your chosen
10ths digit by pressing and releasing the push-button switch from
1 up to 9 times.
5. Within 10 seconds of the last entered digit, turn the ignition switch off
then on.
6. Within 10 seconds, begin to enter your chosen units digit by pressing
and releasing the push-button switch from 1 up to 9 times.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the off position.
The unit will report back the newly entered code, by flashing the LED, first
indicating the 10ths digit, pause and then the units digit. The unit will report
the new code three times with a one second pause between each code,
after which the system will begin arming. If the system begins arming,
(LED flashing rapidly), immediately after turning off the ignition switch, the
new code was not accepted Repeat steps 1 through 7 above considering
the following.
NOTE: Acceptable digits 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not
recognize a 0 (Zero), or no digit entered in any place, units or tenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off
for more then 5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert
back to the last successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory preassigned code of 11 to “52” you
would do the following:
NOTE: You must have a programmed/working transponder to change
the override code.
(See Programming Additional Or Replacement Transponders)
NOTE: Separate all transponders from your ignition key before beginning
the following procedure.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the “on” position and disarm the system by
moving the transponder within range of the exciter coil.
(The LED turns off)
2. Immediately after the LED turns Off, press and hold the push-button
switch and begin turning the ignition switch, “off then on” 5 times
(“off/on”, “off/on”, “off/on”, “off/on”, “off/on”). Release the push-button
switch.
3. Within 10 seconds, hold the coded transponder within range of the
exciter coil until the LED begins to flash three times pause, three
times pause, and then turn on.
4. Within 10 seconds of the LED turning on, begin to press and
release the push button switch to set the tenths digit. (As per the
example, press and release 5 times to set the tenths digit to 5)
5. Within 10 seconds of the last press of the push-button, turn the ignition
switch off then on.
