Intended use
The Rea™ Bellis™ is a comfort wheelchair for people who require good
seating comfort and a great deal of support. The angle of the seat and that
of the backrest can be adjusted, thereby reducing the pressure on the user’s
body. The Rea™ Bellis™ is very easy to propel. Propelling characteristics can
easily be adjusted in the rear wheel plate. The shaped push bar also makes the
Rea™ Bellis™ easy to propel for an assistant, if applicable.

When you receive your wheelchair, you must fit the
backrest, armrests and legrests onto the chair. The
assembly is simple and does not require any tools.
1. Backrest
The backrest is fitted onto the wheelchair by
feeding the shafts (A) of the backrest onto the
tubes of the chair (B). Ensure that you push
the backrest down as far as possible. Secure
into place by tightening the knobs (C).
Secure the backrest cushion using the Velcro
strips.
Now check that the backrest is secured firmly
in position!
When using backrest on older models of Bellis™
wheelchairs an adapter kit is required!
Assembly
2. Armrests
Fit the armrests by pushing the two tubes into the
holes on the armrest holder. The armrest is then
pushed down into the attachment (A).
3. Legrests/footrests
The wheelchair can be equipped with either leg-
rests or footrests.
3a. Legrests
Attach the legrests by pushing the tube at the
upper part of the legrests down into the tubes
on the wheelchair. You must angle the legrests
outwards when inserting them.
To avoid the brakehandle and the legrests/foo-
trests running into each other, please always active
the brake before mounting or dismounting the
legrests/footrests.
Lock the legrests by turning them inwards. The
legrests are automatically locked so there is no
risk of them coming off the wheelchair.

4. Rear wheel
The rear wheel is fitted by pressing button (B)
in the middle of the hub and keeping it pressed
in whilst inserting the axle into the rear wheel
attachment (C). It is important that the wheel is
fitted into place correctly and that the lock catch
(D) has locked the wheel securely.
It is very important that you check that the
locking pin has actually locked the wheel into
position when the centre button has been
released. Take hold of the wheels and try to
detach them. This should NOT be possible.
3b. Footrests
Attach the footrests by pushing the tube at the
upper part of the footrests down into the tubes
on the wheelchair. You must angle the footrests
outwards when inserting them.
Lock the footrests by turning them inwards. The
footrests are automatically locked so there is no
risk of them coming off the wheelchair.

good seating comfort.

3. Seat depth
Loosen the catches of the legrests and swing them
outwards towards the sides. Then loosen the
two screws (A) using an Allen key. Note that the
screws must only be loosened a few turns, not
unscrewed completely. Lift up the seat cushion
slightly. Take hold of the front edge of the seat
frame and pull the frame and cushion to the new
position. Then retighten both screws (A).
To obtain a precise setting for the seat depth, there
is a cm scale on the frontal seatplate enabling you
to set the correct seat depth easily. You also get a
reminder that the risk of tipping forwards increases
if you increase the seat depth.
4. Seat width (only with flip-up armrests)
The width of the seat is adjusted by moving the
side supports. Pull the upholstery carefully to one
side. Loosen the two screws (A) with a 4-mm
Allen key and move the side supports to the desi-

Angle adjustable legrests (Elevating legrests) support
the legs and reduce pressure. The legrests can be used
for bandaged legs, but not for legs in plaster casts. The
legrests must always be fitted with calf pads, footplates
and heel straps.
It is important to adjust the height and angle of the
legrests to obtain a good seating position.
1. Height adjustment
Loosen screw (A) with an Allen key. Adjust the
legrest into a suitable height and the screw is
caught by one of the recesses on the legrest tube.
Then retighten the screw.
2. Angle adjustment
Pull the lever (B) with one hand while support-
ing the legrest with your other hand. When a
suitable angle is obtained, let go of the lever and
the legrest will look into one of seven preset
positions (C).
Do not place anything heavy, or let children
sit on the legrest as it may cause damage to
the mechanism.
The distance between the lowest part of
the footrest and the ground must be at least
40 mm.
Height adjustment
Loosen screw (A) with an Allen key. Adjust the
legrest into a suitable height and the screw is caught
by one of the recesses on the legrest tube. Then
retighten the screw.
NOTE! Don't touch the upper screw (C).

The height of the armrest can be adjusted by care-
fully pulling the armrest upholstery to one side and

3. Charging the battery
If your wheelchair has electrical angle adjustment
the battery needs to be charged. If the angle ad-

is a good idea to leave the charger on overnight.
Charge the battery by plugging the battery charg-
er supplied with the chair into a wall socket. Then
connect the charger cable to the output on the

to charge a battery that has been used 50% of its
