REPLACING TRANSMITTER BATTERY.
The ASTR-215 uses one 12-volt Battery that should be replaced
At lest once a year to maintain proper operating distance.
To replace the transmitter battery, remove the small Phillips screw on the
lower rear corner of the transmitter.
With the screw removed, use a 20mm flat screwdriver to pry-off the
transmitter cover.
Open the case and replace the battery, making sure the polarity is correct.

INTRODUCTION
The NS-3003 is the brainchild of more than 2 years of research,
development and dedication. With over 12 years of experience to guide
them, our product development team has surmounted the challenge of
creating a full-featured, high-end remote starter system. The goal was
to maintain low cost, while still offer a range of great features so far
only available on very expensive products all without compromising
our solid reputation for quality, cost and reliability.
The result far exceeds our expectations, the feature-filled NS-3003 has
met every criterion for quality and reliability. With the addition of
over 15 new features, this product will satisfy any demands you have
in terms of high-end systems and standard features.
We hope that after using your new NS-3003 system, we hope you too
will agree that it represents a breakthrough in vehicle convenience
technology, and remote starter systems.
USER SELECTABLE OPTIONS
The NS-3003 was designed with flexibility and OEM integration in
mind. The unit can be customized and used in almost every possible
application.
With the integration of Timed, Latched, or ON/OFF outputs, this unit
can single-handed, control virtually any electrical system in your car.
NOTE: The programming of your system should be left to a
professional, changing any of the settings may effect the operation of
your NS-3003.
The user - selectable options are as follows:
IGNITION CONTROLLED DOOR LOCKS
- ON by default, this feature will LOCK all the vehicle doors the
first time the driver presses on the brake pedal after the vehicle
has been started. The unit will UNLOCK all doors when the
key is turned to the OFF position.
PASSIVE OR ACTIVE STARTER KILL OUTPUT
- Passive by default, the starter interrupt output on this unit
can be set Active (will NOT arm itself), Passive with a 1
min timeout, or Passive with a 3 min timeout.

8
SAFE START (Child Safety Mode)
- OFF by default. When programmed this feature will require
that the user press the START button on the remote
transmitter TWICE within 3 sec to start the vehicle. This
eliminates accidental remote starts, e.g., if a child is playing
with the transmitter.
REMOTE START RUN TIME
- The NS-3003 can be programmed to run the engine for 5, 15
or 25 minutes in Gas mode, and 10, 20 or 30 minutes, in
Diesel mode. The default run time is 15 minutes in Gas mode
and 20 minutes in Diesel mode.
IDLE MODE
- On by default, this great standard feature lets you remove the
keys and let the vehicle idle for the pre-programmed run time.
To enable idle mode simply press the START button on the
transmitter with the engine running, and then remove the key
(the vehicle will continue to run).
HOME VALET MODE
- OFF by default. This amazing safety feature allows you to
remotely place the system into a no-start mode, so if the
vehicle is parked indoors there is no danger of starting on it’s
own. To activate Garage Valet Mode the user has simply to
press on the LOCK button and within 3 seconds press on the
STOP button. Once activated the vehicle will not start by
remote until the key is turned to the ignition position.
AUX 2 – REMOTE OR TIME-CONTROLLED OUTPUT
- The AUX 2 output can be used for many different
applications. The output can be programmed to give
continuous output + 1second, when remote LOCK & START
are pressed simultaneously. It can also be toggled ON and
OFF with a 30 second timeout, or toggle ON and OFF with a
60 second timeout. This feature can be used to control a
siren(PANIC MODE) or to turn on the headlights
(HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION) the timer can also roll up
the windows on some vehicles without any external window
module. (Volks, BMW, ect.)
AUX 2 OUTPUT
The auxiliary 2 output, can be used for many different applications.
The output can be programmed to give continuous output, when
remote Lock & Unlock are pressed simultaneously. (Buttons 1 & 2)
Or it can be toggled ON and OFF with a 30second timeout, or toggled
ON & OFF with a 60 second timeout.
This means that when the buttons are pressed AUX 2 will output
ground for 30 or 60 seconds or until the buttons are pressed again to
shut off the output.
This output can be used as PANIC MODE, HEADLIGHT
ILLUMINATION, REMOTE DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION. Or the
timer can also roll up the windows on some vehicles without any
external window module. (Volks, BMW, ect.)
AUX 3 – TRUNK OR TIMED OUTPUT
The auxiliary 3 output, can also be used for many different
applications.
The most common use for AUX 3 is trunk release, and by pressing the
TRUNK button for 1sec. the system will pop the vehicles electric
trunk. (If installed)
The output can be also programmed to give a continuous output for as
long as channel 3 is held pressed. (For Sun roof or Window close)
HOME VALET
Home-Valet is an amazing safety feature that will allow you to
remotely place the system into a NO-START mode, so if the vehicle is
parked indoors there is no danger of the vehicle starting on it’s own.
In Home-Valet mode the remote start capability on the NS-3003 is
completely de-activated, you CANNOT start the vehicle by remote,
unless the system is removed from Home-Valet Mode. Therefore you
can rest assured that your vehicle won’t be running in your garage
accidentally.
The activation of Garage Valet Mode is just a couple of transmitter
clicks away. To activate, simply press on the LOCK button and
within 3 seconds press on the START button.
NOTE: Once activated the vehicle will not start by remote until the key is
turned to the ignition position.

PRIORITY DOOR ACCESS
This safety feature lets you unlock only the drivers door with a single
press of the transmitter unlock button,
and then unlock the rest of the vehicle doors with a second press of
the unlock button if desired.
This is a great security feature when parked in a dark area where there
could potentially be someone on the blind side of your car who could,
when all the doors are unlocked by remote, gain entry to your vehicle
without you even noticing.
Priority door entry will unlock the drivers door only, so all unwanted
guests stay out.
The output will provide a 1 sec negative output when the UNLOCK
button on the transmitter is pressed a second time, therefore this
output can be used as priority door entry or even TRUNK release.
COLD WEATHER TIMER
The NS-3003 comes equipped with a Cold Weather Timer Mode,
that when programmed will start and run the engine every 2 hours for
5 minutes (for a period of 24 hours only).
Cold Weather Timer must be programmed by the user whenever its
use is desired.
To program Cold Weather Timer do the following:
1. Press and hold button #2 (START) until lights flash 3
times (about 5 seconds).
2. System is now in Cold Weather Mode.
3. Vehicle will start every 2 hours and run for 5minutes.
To exit Cold Weather Mode do any of the following:
1. Press Brakes
2. Open hood
3. Start vehicle by remote
4. Turn ignition ON
5. Hold button #2 until lights flash once
6. Release parking brake
TRANSMITTER FUNCTION
Your NS-3003 is equipped with a 3-button, multi-channel remote
transmitter. The transmitter works with one 12-volt battery that should
be replaced at least once a year to maintain proper system operation.
The NS-3003 uses smart transmitters that code learning, making very
difficult to capture your code.
The system has the ability to learn up to 4 different transmitter, when a
fourth transmitter is learned the first is knocked out of memory.
NOTE: The NS-3003 transmitter can operate two independent Nordic
Start equipped vehicles. (See Multi-Car Operation for 2nd car
transmitter functions.)
The functions of the transmitter are as follows:
Button 1 (LOCK /
UNLOCK)
Button 2
(START/STOP)
Button 3
(TRUNK)
L.E.D
Pressing on buttons
I & II simultaneously will
activate AUX 2. (Panic mode)
will activate AUX 1 – (Priority door entry)
36
VALET OPERATION
The NS-3003 is equipped with a protected valet switch that requires
the presence of the vehicle keys in order to place the system into valet
mode.
When in VALET mode the system is will not remote start, however
the door lock and trunk control will still operate. Make note that the
starter kill will also be disabled in valet mode.
To place the system IN or OUT of VALET mode you must turn the
key to the ignition position, wait 2 sec then press and hold valet for 3
sec, or until you get one chirp from the siren.
NOTE: When the system is in VALET-MODE the L.E.D
will remain illuminated constantly.
GETTING OUT OF VALET MODE
(1) Turn key to the ignition position
(2) Press and hold valet switch for 3 seconds (L.E.D if ON will go
OFF).
GETTING INTO VALET MODE
(1) Turn key to the ignition position
(2) Press and hold valet switch for 3 seconds. (L.E.D becomes solid
ON when system is in valet mode)
NOTE: If the hood is raised when in VALET mode the L.E.D is
disabled L.E.D is re-enabled when the hood is closed.
IDLE MODE
When programmed, this option allows the user to engage the remote
starter to take over the vehicle while it is already running.
This is a great feature to have activated for those short pit-stops in the
dead of winter when you would rather not shut off the engine. With
Idle mode you can tell the system to keep the vehicle running for the
pre-programmed run time or until shut down by remote control; this
will keep your vehicle totally warm at all times.
Remember that once you’ve activated Idle mode you can leave the
vehicle and lock the doors by remote, regardless of whether you return
to your car it will shut off by itself.
To activate Idle mode you must do the following:
1. With vehicle running, press any button on the transmitter
until the parking lights come on.
2. Remove the key and exit the vehicle.
3. Lock doors. Vehicle will stay running for the pre-
programmed run time.
STARTER DISABLE
Among the many features on the NS-3003, is the starter disable circuit,
that will immobilize the vehicle when the system is armed. (If
installed)
The system, when armed, will control a relay that will physically
interrupt the vehicle starter wire and prevent the hot-wiring of your
vehicle. The system is selectable, PASSIVE or ACTIVE arming; this
means that you can have the unit ARM itself (PASSIVE) after a pre-
programmed period of time 1min. or 3 min, or you can have control
over the system (ACTIVE) such that it will never ARM itself.
Note that when the system is armed, the vehicle will not start
with the key unless the system has been disarmed.
NOTE: L.E.D will always display alarm condition. (Armed
or Disarmed)
TO ARM THE STARTER DISABLE:
Lock the doors by remote or wait the timeout period in
PASSIVE ARM mode. The system is ARMED
automatically when the doors are locked by remote.
TO DISARM THE STARTER DISABLE:
Unlock the doors by remote or place the unit into VALET
mode. (See VALET operation.)
