SG9500MI
TRANSFORMER
RELAY
SWITCH
10A FUSE
PROBLEM:
Neon tube(s) are half lit or dim.
PROBLEM:
Neon tube does not light.
PROBLEM:
No lights come on at all
or lights come on and
turn o instantly (ash).
PROBLEM:
Faulty Transformer
Kit will not light up
SOLUTION:
Check black neon cable going into actual tube end near
rubber boot and all connections. All tubes in series must be
checked for faulty connections. Any faulty connections within
the series can cause a bulb to malfunction.
SOLUTION:
Check for faulty or broken neon tube. Visually check all
tubes carefully for any cracks. Make sure to inspect
the inner tube for any signs of breakage or cracks. If tube
does not appear to be broken, this could be a sign of a
faulty neon tube (See Return Authorization).
SOLUTION:
Recheck all your connections between neon tubes and be
sure they are properly insulated & moisture free. Recheck
wiring to assure all wires are properly connected.
Recheck your power source connection (i.e. battery or
fuse box). If all else fails, check for a faulty SG9500MI
transformer.
SOLUTION:
See Step 2 - Testing Neon Tubes. If neon tubes still fail to
illuminate, then a new transformer may be needed.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING NEON
• This is a high voltage system and may cause burn or shock if neon tubes are not properly
installed or connections are poorly insulated.
•Contact our technical department if uncertain of wiring or installation
of neon tubes.
• Handle tubes carefully, as inner tube is glass and not flexible and will break if tube is dropped or hit against
hard surfaces.
STEP 1. KIT CONTENTS
1) Unpack all components of kit and place neon tubes away from installation area.
2) Check the above contents list and locate each item.
STEP 2. TESTING THE TUBES
1) Temporarily connect black neon cable from end of tube to gray neon cabel on SG9500MI transformer
2) Connect supplied wiring harness to SG9500MI Transformer.
3) Using your car battery or 12 volt power source, connect wiring harness positive (RED) wire to positive terminal on
power source and negitive (Black) wire to negitive terminal on power source.
4) Once connected, on wiring harness turn switch on.
5) Your neon tube should now light up.
6) Repeat for all four neon tubes
NOTE: Connection of tubes to transformer’s neon leads during the testing stage are to be temporary and
easy to disconnect.
STEP 3. INSTALLATION OF NEON TUBES
1) Locate a desired position for tube placement that is away from all fuel lines, exhaust system, areas of extreme heat,
moving parts and where lifts or jacks are used to raise your vehicle.
2) Locate and mount SG9500MI transformer in appropriate location. Location should be away from excessive moisture,
moving parts, extreme heat, exhaust systems, and fuel lines. Before mounting ensure neon leads from transformer
reach neon tube leads.
3) Mount neon tubes to the vehicle with provided 1” nylon clamps and #10 3/4” hex self-tap screws. Clamps should
be placed on tubes where internal o-rings are located. Side Tubes (SGL51) use 5 clamps per tube while front and
rear tubes (SGM30) use 4 per tube (refer to wiring diagram). Make sure all tubes are secure and mounted flush to
vehicle.
4) Trim off surplus wire from tubes before connecting to neon tubes. Avoid slack and secure all neon wire leads.
NOTE: Allow 2” of straight wire at end of each tube before bending in any direction.
5) You are now ready for wiring.
STEP 4. WIRING CONNECTIONS (refer to Wiring Connection Diagram)
1) Slide supplied 3” heat shrink sleeve over one side of the wire
2) Slide supplied heat shrink solder wire connector over one end of wire
3) Using wire strippers: strip 1/4” of wire exposing the wire.
4) Mesh both wires into eachother for wire strands intertwine.
5) Slide heat shrink solder wire connector over the wires carefully to ensure they do not pull apart.
6) Apply heat to heat shrink solder wire connector. The connector will shrink however, continue to heat until solder
melts over the wires. To ensure proper installation, solder must melt to bond wires.
6.5) Hold wires straight to let cool for about 90 sec.
7) Slide heat shrink over connector.
8) Apply heat to heat shrink, continue to heat until fully shrunk and glue squirts out end onto wires.
9) Repeat this process for the remaining connections.
STEP 5. RUNNING THE WIRES
1) Use supplied 1/4” nylon wire clamps and #10 1/2” hex self-self tap screws to secure all wires out of the way of
any moving parts, extreme heat, exhaust systems, and fuel lines from one neon tube to the another or transformer.
GOLD SERIES® UNDERCAR KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: The leads at the end of each neon tube and SG9500S transformer are GTO cables. Only use
the supplied wire when extended lengths are needed between neon tubes. This cable is specially
insulated and using any other type of wire will malfunction the system, regardless of gauge.
Should additional wire be neccessary, visit us at www.StreetGlow.com Part# SGGTO20
STEP 6: WIRING HARNESS
1) Mount switch in an accessible and desirable location inside the vehicle.
2) Plug in SG9500MI transformer to wiring harness
3) Connect wiring harness positive (RED) wire to positive terminal on battery and negitive (Black)
wire to negitive terminal on battery.
4) Mount relay and exsessive wiring from harness out of the way of moving parts, extreme heat, exhaust
systems, and fuel lines.
5) You have now completed the wiring
6) Congratulations! You are now ready to turn the switch on and start enjoying your new Gold Series
Undercar Kit.
7) Keep on glowin!
NOTE: Should lights fail to turn on, please refer to Troubleshooting Guide section of your manual.
TECH TIPS:
SG9500MI Transformer
Each SG9500MI Gold Series Undercar Kit Transformer can power an additional 30” neon
tube (SGM30) for your grill or any other desired location. Transformer will automatically
shut down should six or more tubes be connected.
TUBE PLACEMENT
Keep in mind that a vehicle’s suspension moves when driving. After installing a tube, push
down on the front then rear of the vehicle, making sure nothing is pulling or touching
tubes and wires. If ABS indicator lamp illuminates while operating neon tubes, relocate
transformer and/or wiring away from ABS computer or sensors.
SHORT CIRCUIT
If neon tubes ash on and o, the neon tube is sensing a short circuit within the system.
Check all connections. If neon tubes icker, check all connections throughout the entire
system. A bad connection may not necessarily be located near the ickering bulb.
