Disconnect machine from power

outlet.

Remove top, coffee canisters, back

panel and brewer for working space.

Installation Manual

Remove Side-kick from box and take

off door and metal box covering whip-

per motor.

Hook Side-kick on left side of

machine.

Align front edge of side-kick with

front of Avalon.

Hold together tightly at bottom using

pliers or grips.

Using the side-kick back panel as

template draw out all holes for

drilling. (3 large and 4 small)

Please note that this step requires pre-

cision. Double check alignment of

edges.

Remove side-kick.

Pre-punch holes using a center punch

and drill 4 small holes using a 9/64”

drill bit and 3 large using a 3/4” drill

bit.

Please note that this step requires precision.

Using a 9/64” drill bit drill a hole

into shelf bracket and fasten using a

# 8 - 3/8” screw supplied with kit

for re-enforcement. (under shelf)

Place side-kick back on machine,

align then secure using four # 8 -

3/8” screws supplied with kit.

Insert all four plastic wire protector

rings. (3 inside the side-kick and 1 on

inside of machine)

12) 14) Thread both sets of wires through

bottom hole and secure the extra

wire using a tie-wrap.

Stick tie-wrap holder supplied with

kit as shown above and insert tie-

wraps.

Thread the longest of the two gray

wires along the path of the tie-

wraps and secure.

Disconnect wires going to whipper

motor and plug into the gray set

threaded in step 17. (black to black

and white to white)

18) Using tie-wraps secure all wires

together.

Connect green ground wire to screw

already on top of transformer. Remove valve cover.

20) 21) Disconnect top valve (hot water) and

using second set of gray wire from

the side-kick plug them into each-

other. “Gray set has double connec-

tors” (black wire to black and white

to white)

Re-connect the new set to valve. Using a 9/64” drill bit, drill 1 hole

1 1/2” from the edge of ledge and

centered between the two existing

holes.

23) 24) From under ledge, snap it place plas-

tic tube holder supplied with kit.

Tread new hose supplied with kit

from hot water valve to side-kick

whipper bowl using the higher of the

holes drilled in step # 10

Use tube holder under ledge to

secure hose behind brewer. Step # 25

Place brewer back inside machine

along with spout bracket.

Using tube supplied with kit tread hose

from bottom of whipper bowl to spout

bracket as shown above and re-connect

chocolate hose.

Platinum Brewer Installation.

Thread whipper motor wires dis-

connected in step # 18 towards the

front of the machine and plug into

small Gray extension supplied with

kit.

Disconnect wires going to chocolate

valve and plug into extension. (exten-

sion has double connectors)

Plug new set of connectors into

chocolate valve.

Re -assemble side-kick by installing

whipper motor cover and door.

Re-assemble Avalon.

Plug machine into power outlet and

turn on.

On control board first press Setup

button then Counter button second.

Machine will display:

Option Avalon X ?

Yes or No

If option is already set to NO press start

button to go to next menu.

If machine is set to Yes press the 50/50

button to change to NO then press

start. Machine will display:

Option Quad ?

Yes or NO

3) If machine is set to Yes press start

button to go to next menu.

If machine is set to No press the

Strength button to change to Yes

then press start.

Press the hidden button on mem-

brane.

Using Avalon program guide, answer

all questions to set machine to your

liking until to get to Late.

Machine will display:

Late?

Yes or No

If machine is set to Yes press start.

If machine is set to No press

strength button to change to Yes

then press start.

Converting Avalon to Quad (programming)

Important Reminders

For ingredient and liquid settings

please refer to Quad program chart.

Dis-activate hot water in program-

ming if you have not purchased a

Hot Water Option.

Espresso button becomes French

Vanilla or what ever you put in new

canister. Product only. (do not forget

to identify)

50/50 button becomes a blend of

Coffee and French Vanilla or other...
