Congratulations on your choice of a Bionaire
®
Air
Cleaner. Its quiet operation and versatility make this unit
perfect for your home.
HOW THE QUIETECH™
SYSTEM WORKS.
Your Bionaire
®
Air Cleaner incorporates the latest technology
developments in portable air filtration. QUIETech
features
a new HEPA filtration media and a very quiet motor system
which blends in with your lifestyle. Dirty, dust-laden air is
drawn through the front of the QUIETech
.
First a Pre-Filter traps larger particles before your air passes
through a 2-stage filtration system. Next, a carbon filter helps
trap odors. Then the HEPA filter removes 99.97% of particulate
as small as 0.3 microns in size, filtering smoke, dust, pollen,
mold spores, and pet dander. Microban
®
product protection has
been added to the HEPA filter to inhibit the growth of odor-
causing bacteria on the filter. This product protection is limited
to the HEPA filter surface.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. When removing the unit from the box, visually check for
shipping damage. Please contact both the shipper and your
dealer immediately if the unit bears any sign of damage from
mishandling. All Bionaire
®
unit are carefully inspected before
leaving our factory.
2. KEEP SHIPPING BOX AND PACKAGING for use in the
unlikely event that your Bionaire
®
unit needs servicing.
If this unit is shipped without the original packaging,
damage could occur and void the warranty.
3. WARNING: Check the operating voltage shown
on the back of the unit. Do not operate at voltages
other than shown.
4. Select a location for your air cleaner. The slim profile
of the QUIETech
allows you to place the unit against
the wall. Do not place front grill toward the wall,
or air outlet grill directly under an overhanging object.
5. Open the front grill by depressing the
door tab to expose the inside of the air
cleaner (Figure 1).
6. Check to make sure that the pre-filter
is in place inside the door. If not, see
"Filter Replacement".
7. Next, remove the HEPA filters from
inside of air cleaner. Locate carbon
filters packed separately in box. Remove
any plastic wrapping (dispose of plastic
wrapping), and slide a carbon filter
underneath the tabs on the HEPA filter
frame. Repeat with each HEPA
filter assembly (Figure 2).
8. Re-install the HEPA filters on the filter
guide posts (Figure 3).
9. Close the door until it snaps in place.
If for any reason, the door is not sealed
properly, the Door Ajar indicator will
appear on the control panel to indicate that the door is not
closed. It is important to maintain a proper door seal to
achieve maximum filtration.
Tip: If the door is not closed properly and Door Ajar is lit,
the air cleaner will not operate.

speed – High, Medium, Low, or Sleep by touching the but-
tons on the control panel (Figure 4). For optimal performance,
it is recommended that you run the air cleaner continuously on
the highest setting initially, then switch to the medium, low or
sleep setting depending on your preference.
FILTER REPLACEMENT
To keep your unit operating at peak effectiveness, your HEPA filter
should be changed at a minimum of every 12 months and your
carbon filter should be replaced every 3 months. Always unplug
