1.0 About your security system
Readthismanualcarefullyandhaveyourinstallerinstructyouontheoperationandfeaturesofyour
system.Allusersmustbefullyinstructedinitsuse.FillouttheSystemInformationpagewithall
ofyourzoneinformationandaccesscodes,andstorethismanualinasafeplaceforfutureref-
erence.
NOTE:Theiotegasecuritysystemincludesspecificfalsealarmreductionfeaturesandisclassified
inaccordancewithANSI/SIACP-01-2014ControlPanelStandard-FeaturesforFalseAlarm
Reduction.Consultyourinstallerforfurtherinformationregardingthefalsealarmreductionfea-
turesbuiltintoyoursystem,asthismanualdoesnotcoverallfeatures.
1.1 Fire detection
Ifyourinstallerenablesthisfeature,thissystemcanmonitorfiredetectiondevices,suchassmoke
detectors,andprovideawarningifafireconditionisdetected.Goodfiredetectiondependsonhav-
inganadequatenumberofdetectorsplacedinappropriatelocations.Thisequipmentmustbe
installedinaccordancewithNFPA72(N.F.P.A.,BatterymarchPark,QuinceyMA02269).Care-
fullyreviewtheFireEscapePlanningsectioninthismanual.
1.2 Carbon monoxide detection
Ifyourinstallerenablesthisfeature,thissystemcanmonitorcarbonmonoxidedetectorsand
provideawarningifcarbonmonoxideisdetected.RefertotheFireescapeplanningandCarbon
monoxidedetectorssectionsformoreinformation.
1.3 Testing your system
Thesystemtestactivatesa4-secondcheckofthesystemstatusLEDs,keypadLEDs,buzzer,and
siren.Itisapartition-basedtestandmustbedonewhenthesystemisdisarmed/unset.
Youcanperformasystemtestfromthewebportal.
Thefollowingeventshappenduringasystemtest:
lAllsystemstatusLEDsflashfor4seconds.
lAsystemtesttransmitstothemonitoringstation.
lThesystemchecksthebackupbatterylevel.
lThekeypadLEDsilluminatefor4seconds.
lThesystembuzzersoundsfor4seconds,orthepartitionbuzzerandsirensoundfor2
secondseachinseries.
Testyoursystemweeklytoensurethatitfunctionsasintended.Informyourmonitoringstation
whenyoubeginandendsystemtesting.
Aqualifiedservicetechnicianmusttesthouseholdfirealarmsystemsatleastevery3yearsin
accordancewithNFPA72.Itisyourresponsibilitytotestthesystemweekly,excludingsmoke
detectors.
Ifthesystemfailstofunctionproperly,callyourinstallationcompanyforservice.

Thissystemcantransmitalarms,troublesandemergencyinformation.Ifyouinitiateanalarmby
mistake,immediatelycallthemonitoringstationtopreventanunnecessaryresponse.
Notes:
lYourinstallermustenablethemonitoringfunctionbeforeitisfunctional.
lConsultwithyourinstallertodetermineifyoursystemisconfiguredwithacommunicator
delay.Acommunicatordelaypreventsareporttothemonitoringstationifthecontrol
panelisdisarmed/unsetwithin30-45secondsafteranintrusionalarmistriggered.Note
thatfire-typealarmsarenormallyreportedwithoutadelay.
lIfenabledandconfigured,youcancelanalarmafterthecommunicationdelaywiththe
alarmcancelwindow.RefertotheAlarmcancelwindowsectionformoreinformation.
lContactyourinstallertoverifythatyoursystemiscompatiblewiththeCentralStation
Receiverformatatyearlyintervals.
1.5 Cleaning and maintenance
Keepyouriotegainoptimalconditionbyfollowingallinstructionsincludedwithinthismanual
and/ormarkedontheproduct.Theend-userand/orinstallerareresponsiblefordisposingofused
batteriesaccordingtothewasterecoveryandrecyclingregulationsapplicabletothelocalmarket.
lCleantheunitbylightlydustingwithaslightlymoistenedcloth.
lDonotwipethefrontcoverwithalcohol.
lDonotusewateroranyotherliquid.
lDonotuseabrasives,thinners,solventsoraerosolcleaners(spraypolish)thatmayenter
throughholesandcausedamage.
lReplacethestandbybatteryevery3-5years.

Yoursecuritysystemincludesanintegratedalarmcontrolpanelandvarioussensorsanddetectors.
Thesystemisself-contained;thecontrolpanel,integratedkeypad,andstandbybatteryareall
housedwithintheunit.
Thesecuritysystemhasseveralzonesofareaprotection.Azoneisasensorordetectorthatcom-
municateswiththepanel.Asensorinalarmisindicatedontheintegratedkeypad,wirelesskeypad,
touchscreenkeypad,andbymessagesonthemobilephoneuserapplication.
2.1 Integrated keypad
Theiotegasystemincludesacapacitivetouchintegratedkeypadwith16keys:numbers0thru9,*,
#,Fire,Auxiliary,Panicemergencykeys,andshift(uparrow).
Duringpowerup,thenumberkeysilluminateinsequenceseveraltimes.Innormaloperation,the
keypadremainsoffwhennotinuse.Whenyouwaveyourhandincloseproximitytothekeypad,the
numberkeysilluminate.

Asecuritysystemcannotpreventemergencies.Itisonlyintendedtoalertyouandyourmonitoring
station,ifapplicable,toanemergencysituation.Securitysystemsaregenerallyveryreliable,but
theymaynotworkunderallconditionsandtheyarenotasubstituteforprudentsecuritypracticesor
lifeandpropertyinsurance.Yoursecuritysystemmustbeinstalledandservicedbyqualifiedsecur-
ityprofessionals.Theseprofessionalscaninstructyouonthelevelofprotectionthathasbeen
providedandonsystemoperations.
2.5.1 Power save mode
WhenthepanelisinPowerSavemode,itissavingbatterylife.Theintegratedkeypadisnotturned
onuntilthereisaspecificreason,suchasahandwaveinfrontofthepanel,orthestartofanentry
delay.
Wheninitiated,thestatusindicatorsstayonfor30secondsbeforeturningoff.Inthismode,the
panelisstillfunctioning,butnothingisvisible.
NOTE:ForULlistedinstallations,theuserappandtouchscreenkeypadfunctionsarenotavailable
inthismode;therefore,youmustusetheintegratedkeypadorthewirelesskeypadtoarm/setordis-

bypassedzonesandinitiatestheexitdelaycountdown.

persecond.Whentheexitdelayexpires,thesystemisarmed/setandtheReadyindicatorturnsoff

Toarm/setthesysteminAwaymode,completethefollowingsteps:
1. EnsureallprotecteddoorsandwindowsaresecureorbypassedandthattheReadyindic-
atorison.
2. Enteryouraccesscode.

PressandholdtheAwayModefunctionkeyfor2secondsandenteryouraccesscode,if
required.
Ifzoneshavebeenbypassed,awarningappears
Tocancelthearming/settingsequence,enteryouraccesscode.

3.5 Quick arming/set
Ifenabled,youcanarm/setthesysteminStayorAwaymodewithoutenteringanaccesscodewith
theuserapporthefunctionkeyonthewirelesskeypad.
Ifdisabled,youmustenteryouraccesscodeforallmethodsofarming/setting.
NOTE:Thisfeatureisenabledbydefault.Contactyourinstallertodisablethisfeature.
3.6 Quick exit
Ifenabled,youcanusetheQuickExitfunctiontoavoiddisarming/unsettingandrearming/resetting
thesystemtoexitthepremises.Whenthesystemisarmed/set,thisfunctionallows2minutesto
exit.Whenthedoorisclosedafterexiting,theremainingexittimeiscancelled.

1. Whensystemisarmed/setandtheArmed/Setindicatorison,pressandholdtheQuick
Exitkeyfor2seconds..
2. Exitthepremisesbeforetheexitdelaytimerexpires.Afterexiting,thedelaytimeriscan-
celed.
3.7 Arming/Setting errors and exit faults
Yoursecuritysystemaudiblynotifiesyouofanyerrorswhenyouareattemptingtoarm/setthesys-
temorexitthepremises.
3.7.1 Arming/Setting error
Anerrortone(longbeep)soundsifthesystemisunabletoarm/set.Arming/settingerrorsoccur
underthefollowingconditions:
lTheaccesscodeisincorrect.
lThesystemisnotready,i.e.sensorsareopen.
lAtroubleconditionispresent.
lThesystemrequiresareset.
Ifyouenteravalidaccesscodeandthesystemisstillunabletoarm/set,amessageappearsonthe
keypad.Thefollowingtableliststhepossibleerrorsandactionstoclearthem:

Toreducefalsealarms,theaudibleexitfaultnotifiesyouofanimproperexitwhenarmingthesys-

soundsthealarmtoindicateanimproperexit.
Tocorrectanexitfault,completethefollowingsteps:
1. Re-enterthepremises.
2. Enteryouraccesscodetodisarm/unsetthesystembeforetheentrydelaytimerexpires.

3.9 Alarm cancel window
Thereisaperiodoftimeinwhichyoucancancelthealarmtransmission.Whentheprogrammed
alarmtransmissiondelayexpires,cancelinganalarmsendsamessagetothemonitoringstation.
Whenthecancellationmessageissuccessfullytransmitted,thesystembeepssixtimes.
NOTE:
lYourinstallermustenableandconfigurethisfeature.
lForCP-01systems,alarmtransmissiondelaymustnotexceed45seconds.
3.10 Bypass zones
Usethezonebypassingfeaturewhenyouneedaccesstoaprotectedareawhilethesystemis
armed/set,orwhenazoneistemporarilyoutofservice,butyouneedtoarm/setthesystem.
Bypassedzonesarenotabletosoundanalarm.Asaresult,bypassingzonesreducesthelevelof
security.Ifyouarebypassingazonebecauseitisnotworking,callaservicetechnicianimme-
diatelytoresolvetheproblemandrestoreyoursystemtoproperworkingorder.
Ensurethatnozonesareunintentionallybypassedwhenarming/settingyoursystem.Zonescannot
bebypassedoncethesystemisarmed/set.Bypassedzones,exceptfor24-hourzones,areauto-
maticallyunbypassedeachtimethesystemisdisarmed/unsetandmustbebypassedagainbeforethe
nextarmin/setting,ifneeded.

l24-hourzonescanonlybeunbypassedmanually.
lForULlistedinstallations,zonescanonlybebypassedmanually.
3.11 Force arming/setting
OpenzoneswiththeForceArmattributeenabled,suchasinteriorzones,donotneedtobe
bypassedtoarm/setthesystem.Notethatyoursystemmaybeconfiguredtorequireallopenzones
tobebypassed,andmayalsorequireanaccesscodetodoso.Checkwithyourinstaller.
IfForceArm-typezonesaresecuredwhilethesystemisarmed/set,theyfunctionasanynormal
zone.Thatis,iftheyareopenedwhilethesystemisarmed/set,analarmisgenerated.
TheReadyLEDflasheswhilethesystemisdisarmed/unsettoindicatethepresenceofopen,Force
Arm-typezones.
3.12 Troubles/open zones cancel arming/setting
IfTroubles/OpenZonesCancelArming/settingisdisabled,arming/settingcanproceedwhile
troublesarepresentandzonesareopen.However,thesystemgoesintoalarm/entrydelay(depend-
ingonthetypeofthezone)afterbeingfullyarmed/setiftheopenzonesarenotbypassed.
