SAFETY WARNINGS
Follow InstructionsAll operating and maintenance instructions should be followed and warnings adhered to.
Standby - The standby button on the remote control doesn't switch off the DVD completely and the DVD will
continue to draw electricity from the mains supply. Therefore in the interests of safety and to avoid unnecessary
energy consumption, never leave your DVD in standby while unattended for long periods of time, eg. overnight,
while on holiday or while out of the house.
Cleaning – Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
Accessories – Do not use accessories not recommended in this instruction book as they may be hazardous.
Water, Heat and Moisture – Hazard of electric shock - Do not use this product near water or in rainy/moist
situations. Don't use this apparatus in tropical climates.
Accessibility
Ensure that the mains plug is easily accessible.
Ventilation
Allow a minimum distance of 5cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
Placing or Moving – Do not place on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall,
causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. A product and cart combination
should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart
combination to overturn.
Power Cord Protection – Power cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched
by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to plugs and the point from which the cords exit
the product.
Lightning – For added protection of this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unused for long periods of time, disconnect it from the wall outlet. This will prevent damage to the product due
to lightning and power-line surges.
Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in risk of fire or electric shock.
Objects and Liquid – Never allow objects of any kind or liquids to be pushed/spilled into this product through
openings as they may come into contact with dangerous voltage or other hazards.
Servicing – Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to
dangerous voltage points or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Damage Requiring Service - Disconnect this product from the wall outlet and all power sources including
batteries, and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b) If any liquid has been spilled onto, or objects have fallen into the product.
c) If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
d) If the product does not operate normally even if you follow the operating instructions. Adjust only those
controls that are covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal
operating condition.
e) If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
f) When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance. This indicates a need for service.
Replacement Parts – When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used
replacement parts that are specified or that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorised
substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.
Safety Check – Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform
safety checks to determine that the product is in safe operating order.
Condensation – Moisture will form in the operating section of the player if the player is brought from cool
surroundings into a warm room or if the temperature of the room rises suddenly. When this happens, the player's
performance will be impaired. To prevent this, let the player stand in its new surroundings for about an hour
before switching it on, or make sure that the room temperature rises gradually. Condensation may also form
during the summer if the player is exposed to the breeze from an air conditioner. In such cases, change the
location of the player.
Protect Fine Furniture - Use protective material under the unit when placing it on a surface with a natural or
lacquer finish.
Important Warning
A DVD player is a Class 1 laser product, however this player uses a visible laser beam which could cause
hazardous radiation exposure.
Be sure to operate the player correctly as instructed.
·When this player is plugged into the wall outlet, do not place your eyes close to the opening of the disc tray and
other openings to look into the inside of this player.
·Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
·Do not open covers and do not repair yourself. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
·To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this equipment to rain or moisture.
·To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock and annoying interference, use the recommended accessories only.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert two new size AAA batteries with
the “+” and “-” ends aligned correctly.
NOTES:
A. Do not mix different types together, or
old batteries with new batteries.
B. If the remote control will not be used for
a long time, remove the batteries to
prevent possible damage from corrosion.
C. To prevent corrosion, remove exhausted
batteries immediately.
D. Typical battery life is about 6 months of
normal use.
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Point the remote control toward the remote
sensor on your DVD player as shown.
NOTES:
A. Direct sunlight or strong light sources
may interfere with correct operation of
the remote control.
B . Any object placed between the remote
control and remote sensor may prevent
the remote control from operating correctly.

REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
STANDBY:
OPEN/CLOSE: Press to open the disc tray. Place a disc gently into the tray with the disc's label
facing up. Press OPEN/CLOSE to close the disc tray and start playback.
Direction and ENTER: Press the Direction buttons to select menu items and adjust setup options.
Press ENTER to confirm selections.
STOP: Press once to stop playback while remembering the current position. The player will
resume playback from this position if you then press PLAY.
To "forget" the current position, press STOP twice.
PAUSE: Press to pause playback.
PLAY: Press to resume playback.
NEXT and PREV: Press NEXT to go to the next DVD chapter/CD track/picture. Press PREV to go
to the previous chapter/track/picture.
FWD and REV: Press to Fast Forward/Reverse through the current chapter/track. Press
repeatedly to step through the forward/reverse speeds. Press PLAY for normal
playback.
VOL+ and VOL-: Press to increase and decrease the volume.
MUTE: Press to turn on/off the sound.
Numeric buttons: Press these buttons to input numbers in menus and to select audio tracks or
JPEG pictures.
SETUP: Press to enter the setup menu.
TITLE: While playing a DVD, press to restart play from the first title on the disc. Some DVDs do
not support this feature.
MENU: While playing a DVD, press to return to the disc's menu. Some DVDs do not support this
feature.
RETURN: While playing a DVD, press to return to the previous menu. Some DVDs do not support
this feature.
SUBTITLE: Some DVDs provide subtitles in different languages. While playing a DVD, press
SUBTITLE to display subtitles and step through the available languages.
AUDIO: Some DVDs provide audio commentaries and audio tracks in different languages. While
playing a DVD, press AUDIO to step through the available audio tracks.
ANGLE: Some DVDs contain scenes that are filmed from multiple angles. While playing a DVD,
press ANGLE to step through the available angles.
Press to turn your DVD player on and off .

Press PLAY for normal playback.
STEP: Press once to pause playback. Press repeatedly to advance one frame at a time. Press
PLAY for normal playback.
REPEAT: During playback, press to step through the options: repeat current chapter > current
title > entire disc > off
A-B REPEAT: To repeat a section of material during playback, press once to set the start of the
loop. Press again to set the end of the loop and start repeat playback.
To end repeat playback, press A-B REPEAT again.
PROGRAM and CANCEL: Press PROGRAM to enter the Program menu and set up a playlist of
tracks/chapters. Press the Direction buttons to move around the menu.
Input numbers by pressing the numeric buttons.
- In DVD mode, input Title and Chapter numbers.
- In CD mode, input track numbers.
- Press CANCEL to delete the number you just input.
- Select CLEAR and press ENTER to delete the whole playlist.
- Select PLAY and press ENTER to start program playback.
Note: Some discs do not support this feature.
SEARCH: To search for a desired title, chapter, track or time position, press SEARCH to enter
the Search menu.
Press the Direction buttons to select the title/chapter/track number or time option,
then press the Numeric buttons to input the title/chapter/track or time position you
want to go to. Then press ENTER to start playback.
NOTE:This feature does not work in Program Play mode.
OSD: Press to display/hide playback information.
ZOOM: Press to zoom in or zoom out the video image. While zoomed in, press the Direction
buttons to move the picture position.
HDMI: Press to step through the HDMI screen resolutions.
PSCAN/NORMAL: Press to select the type of signal the TV receives.
SLOW: Press to begin slow motion playback. Press repeatedly to step through the slow speeds.

TO SELECT AND CHANGE MENU ITEMS:
Press the SETUP button to enter the SETUP menu.
Press the Direction buttons to select items and press ENTER to confirm changes.
SYSTEM SETUP
a) TV SYSTEM----------Choose your TV system: AUTO,
PAL, or NTSC.
b) SCREEN SAVER----------Choose to turn the
screensaver on/off.
c) VIDEO----------Choose according to how your DVD
player is connected to the TV:
INTERLACE-YUV: Choose if using a Y, Cb, Cr
component video cable.
TV-RGB: Choose if connected using a SCART cable.
P-SCAN YPBPR: Choose if connected to a progressive
scan TV using a Y, Pb, Pr component
video cable.
S-VIDEO: Choose if connected to a progressive scan TV/monitor using an S-VIDEO cable.
d) TV TYPE----------Choose the kind of TV the player is connected to:
4:3/PANSCAN: Choose if connected to a standard TV. The left and right sides of widescreen
images will be cut off.
4:3/LETTERBOX: Choose if connected to a standard TV. Widescreen images will not fill the
screen vertically.
16:9: Choose if connected to a widescreen TV.
e) PASSWORD----------lock/unlock
To unlock the RATING feature or change the password, press the numeric buttons to input
the existing password (the factory-set password is "8888") and press ENTER. You can then
change the RATING setting as shown below, or input a new password and press ENTER.
f ) RATING----------After unlocking the password as shown above, choose the highest rating
you want anyone to view, then lock the password. To play a disc with a
higher rating, the password must be entered.
g)DEFAULT----------Choose to restore the factory settings.

a) OSD LANGUAGE----------Choose the language for the
player's onscreen display.
b) AUDIO LANG----------Choose your preferred DVD
audio language.
c) SUBTITLE LANG----------Choose your preferred DVD
subtitle language.
d) MENU LANG----------Choose your preferred DVD menu
language.
AUDIO SETUP
AUDIO OUT----------Choose the digital audio format:
SPDIF/OFF: No digital output.
SPDIF/RAW: Digital audio output is the original format,
such as AC3 or DTS.
SPDIF/PCM: Digital audio output is converted to PCM.

Choose one of the HDMI screen resolutions:
576P 720P 1080I 1080P
Higher numbers produce a better image.
I = interlaced scanning,
P = progressive scanning.
Progressive scanning gives a better picture.
Choose a resolution that your TV or monitor supports.
SPEAKER SETUP
DOWNMIX----Choose how the player downmixes
multi-channel audio to stereo output:
LT/RT: 2ch output, main channel with surround.
STEREO: 2ch output, main right channel with right
surround; main left channel with left surround.
VSS: Choose this setting, when a disc recorded
with 5.1-channel sound form at playing, the
fictitious surround soundtracks effect will be
heard from the main soundtrack
DIGITAL SETUP
a)OP MODE-----Choose according to the TV sound level:
LINE OUT: For most systems, this is the correct setting.
RF REMOD: If the sound level is too low when
connected directly to the TV, choose this
setting.
b)DYNAMIC RANGEChoose the range between the
loudest and softest sounds. This
setting is only available when OP
MODE is set to LINE OUT.
c)DUAL MONO---Choose the audio output mode:
STEREO is for normal playback,
whereas MONO L, MONO R and MIX
MONO are for karaoke playback.

Check if the power cord is properly connected to the power outlet.
Check if the main power is switched on.
No disc. Insert a disc.
Disc is upside down. Place the disc with the label side up.
Disc's region code does not match to the player,
Disc's rating level is higher than the player's rating setting.
Disc is not supported.
Disc is damaged or dirty. Clean the disc or try another disc.
Moisture may be condensed inside the player. Remove the disc and
leave the unit power on for one or two hours.
Check if the TV set is switched on. Use TV remote to select A / V source.
Check if the connections are correct and secure.
Check if the connection cables are damaged.
Clean the disc.
The disc is dirty or damaged. Clean the disc or try another disc.
Reset the color system of the TV set.
Connect the player directly to the TV set.
Select the screen format from the player's SETUP MENU, see "SETUP
MENU" section of this manual.
Select the screen format from DVD disc menu.

Disc's region code does not match the player.
Either the disc's rating is higher than the player's
rating setting, or you entered the wrong password
in the SETUP menu.
The player is equipped with automatic disc quality
detection software. When the player detects a problem
disc or a damaged disc, the player may keep playing the
disc at lower quality or stop playing.
Should the player develop a malfunction, unplug the player for 30
minutes. After 30 minutes, power on the player and the restore function
should reset the player.
Following message will display when there is a problem with the loaded disc:
