the

PROCEED
AS
FOLLOWS:
The
earth
plug
pin
is
unnecessary.
As
TOYOTA

is
designed
under double
insulation
structure,
the
earth
wire
is
removed
from
the
machine.
The
wire
coloured
BROWN
must
be
connected
to
the
terminal
marked
L
or
A
or
coloured
RED.
The
wire
coloured
BLUE
must
be
connected
to the
terminal
marked
N
or
coloured
BLACK.
If
a
13A
plug
is
used,
fit
a
3A FUSE,
or
if
any
other
type
of
plug
is
used,
a
5A
FUSE
either
in
the
plug
or
adaptor
or
at
the
distribution
board.
Voltage
of

must
not
exceed

Unpacking
your
TOYOTA
8000
Before
commencing
to
sew,
let's
learn
a little
about
your
machine
by
reading
through
this
instruc-
tion book
carefully.
Start by
placing
your
TOYOTA
8000
on
the
table
and
remove
the
compartment
by
drawing
it
out
in
the
direction
of
the
arrow,
Connecting
Foot
Control
and
Power
Cord
Before
plugging
in
your
TOYO-
TA
8000,
be
sure
that
the
voltage
is
the
same
as
that
of
your
TOYOTA
8000.
The
ma-
chine's
voltage
is
written
on
a
plate
at the
right
end
of
your
TOYOTA
8000.
Take
foot control out
of
the
compartment
and
push
the
foot
control
plug
into
the
electrical
receptacle
at
-
the
right
end of
your
TOYOTA
8000.
Then
connect
the
machine
to
the house
power supply.
Power
and
light
switch
can
be
"on"
or
"Off'
by
pressing
the
switch
which
is
found
on
the
right
end
of
your
TOYOTA
8000.

Changing
the
Light
Bulb
Disconnect
mains
power.
Open
the
face
plate
as
shown
opposite.
Unscrew
bulb
by
turning
coun-
terclockwise.
Replace
bulb.
Reconnect
mains
power.
Removing
the
Bobbin
Case
Open
the
shuttle
cover
towards
you
and
turn
the
hand
wheel
until
the
needle
reaches
its
highest
position.
With
right
thumb
and
index
finger,
open
the
hinged latch
(A)
at
the
front
of
the
bobbin
case
and
withdraw
the
bobbin
case
I
from
the
holder
post.

Inserting the Bobbin
When
the
bobbin
is
wound,
place
it
inside
its
case.
Make
sure
that
the thread
runs in
the
direction
of
the
arrow.
Threading
the
Lower
Thread
Slide the
thread
into
the
slot
on
the
edge
of
the
bobbin
case.
The
thread
is
pulled
in under
the
tension
spring. Also
check
that
the
bobbin
rotates
in
the
direc-
tion
of
the
arrow
when
the
thread
is
pulled.
When
straight
and
zigzag
stitch-
ing,
pass
the
bobbin
thread
through
the thread guide
on
bobbin
case.
When
adjusting the
bobbin
thread tension,
adjust
the
tension
so
that
the
bobbin
case
easily
falls
down
under
its
own_
weightwhen
you
are
hold-
ing
on
the
thread
only.
You
can
enjoy
the
better
balance
of
the
lower
thread
and
the
upper
thread.

Inserting
the
Bobbin
Case
After
checking
that
the
needle
bar
is
in
its
highest
position,
insert
the
bobbin
case
the
opposite
way
you
removed
it.
Choice
of
the Needle
Flat
The
machine
is
fitted
with
needle size
No.14
type
705.
You
will
also
find
a
number
of
spare
needles
in
the
accessory
box.
Before
changing the
needle,
check
if
needle
is
bent
or
blunt.

Changing
the
Needle
With
the needle
bar
in
the
highest
position,
loosen
the
needle
clamp
screw.
Then
turn
the
flat
side
of
the
needle
to
the
back
and
insert
the
needle
as
high
as
it
will
go.
Tighten
the
needle
clamp
screw
firmly.
Stretch
Fabrics
When
sewing
stretch
or
knitted
fabrics
always
use
a
ball
point
needle
to
ensure
good results.
It
has
been
found
over
the
years

The
presser
foot
quickly
and
easily
snaps
off
and
on
the
shank.
Raise
the
presser
bar
lifter
and
make
sure
that
the
needle
is
in
its
highest
position.
Then
snap
down
the
clamping
lever
to
remove
it.
Center
the
new
presser
foot
under
the
shank.
Lower
the presser
bar lifter
so
that
the
shank opening fits
over
the
presser
foot
pin.
Feet
holder
is
changed
by
loosening
the
presser
foot
screw.

Threading
the
Upper
Thread
Turn
the
hand
wheel
towards
you
to
raise
the take-up
lever
to
its highest
position
and
place
the
spool
of
thread
on the
left-hand
spool
pin.
Lead
the
thread
through
all
the
threading
points
as
shown
oppo-
site.
Thread
the take-up
lever
from
back
to front,
guiding
the thread
down
over
top
of
lever
and then
up
into
the
eyelet.

Thread
the
needle eye
from
front
to
back,
pulling about
1
m
of
the
thread.
Drawing
up
the
Lower
Thread
Hold
the end
of
the
upper
thread
with
your
left
hand.
Turn
the
hand
wheel
towards
you
slowly
until
the
needle
and the
take-up
lever move
down and
up
again,
then
stop
the
hand
wheel.
Pull
the
upper
thread
slowly
so
that
the
lower thread
will be
brought
up
in
a
loop.
You
should
never
pull
the
upper
thread
too hard
as
this
may
bend
the
needle.
Pull
both
ends
of
the
threads out
about
15cm
from
under
the
foot
and
place
them
either
to
the
left
or
right
of
the
presser
foot
as
shown.
The
old fashion
method
used by
most
machine
sewers
for
many
years who
have
been
taught
to
place
the
threads
behind the
presser
foot,
has
been
found
to
be
incorrect,
as
this
has
caused
most
of
the machine
jamming
problems
of
the
past.

ALWAYS
PLACE
THE
THREADS
EITHER
TO
THE
LEFT
OR
RIGHT
NEVER
BEHIND
THE
FOOT
Thread
Cutter
On
the
back
of
the
presser bar
you
will
find
the
thread
cutter.
This
cutter
makes
it
easy
to
cut
off
the
thread
at
the
end
of
a
seam.

Reverse
Sewing

For

reverse,
you
push
in
the
Teverse
button
as
far
as
it
will
go.
The
machine
will
sew
backward
as
long
as
the
button
is
held
in.

selected

zigzag
