WARNING
To reduce the risk of SEVERE INJURY or DEATH:
• READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
• This operator is intended for installation ONLY on gates used for
VEHICLES.
• Pedestrians MUST be supplied with a separate access opening.
• Please read ALL the safety pages 4 through 13 in the SL30000UL™
manual before installing operator.
• Please read this entire addendum to understand how the features
of the “E” series operator differs from the SL3000UL™ series.
• SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
This operator has a feature to manually push the gate open in an emergency or when power is
not available to the operator. See the next page for correct procedure.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When AC or DC power is present:
Press button ONCE to disengage the solenoid brake
Stop/Reset Button for Emergency Manual Release
Gate can now be manually pushed to open (Backdriven).

WARNING
IMPORTANT
To reduce the risk of INJURY, dedicated devices MUST be far enough from the gate so that
the user is prevented from coming in contact with the gate while operating the controls.

• Operator’s normal gate cycle.
• AC power failure.
• Stop/Reset button has been pressed ONLY once.
• Gate in closed position with normal AC power.
• Stop/Reset button has been pressed twice.
Solenoid Brake Description
Brake will keep spoked pulley from moving when engaged. Brake MUST be disengaged
to manually push gate open (Backdriven).
Opens or closes the gate with dedicated devices wired directly to the DC2000 when the
AC power fails at the operator. (Refer to pages 30 through 32 in the manual)
The DC2000 WILL NOT operate an Emergency Key Switch (Knox
Box) wired to the operator’s surge suppressor when the AC power
fails at the operator.
If this AC power failure occurs, the solenoid brake will be disen-
gaged regardless of the DC2000’s battery power . The gate can
be manually pushed opened at any time as long as there is NO AC
power at the operator.

Allows gate to automatically open for exiting
vehicles.
External 110 Vac “Safety” Loop Detector -
Allows gate to stay open when vehicles are
obstructing path. Caution: Suggested for
vehicles 14 feet or longer.
If the “Inside” and “outside” safety loops are
connected to the same loop detector:
• They should be series connected to the detector
• Have the same dimensions. (Page 41 or 42 in the manual)
• Have the same number of wire turns. (Page 43 in the manual)
