Data GateWeigh Installation
You can install Data GateWeigh on Windows 95, 98, Windows NT 4.0, and SCO OpenServer. Refer to
the following table for appropriate instructions and requirements.

(Use it when installing Data GateWeigh for Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0.)
Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0 SCO OpenServer
Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0
platforms require:
• IBM PC compatible with Intel™
80486, equivalent, or higher
microprocessor.
• RAM memory of 8 MB or larger.
• Available Hard Disk space of 10
MB or larger.
SCO OpenServer platforms require:
• Intel™ 80486 processor, equivalent, or higher, and
supporting architecture.
• SCO OpenServer version 5.0.4 or greater (contact
your Hobart representative if you use an earlier
version).
• Minimum of 8 MB of RAM and 15 MB of HD.
To install Data GateWeigh:
1. INSERT the Data GateWeigh CD-
ROM into your CD-ROM drive. In most
situations, Windows will automatically
detect and run the installation. If
Windows automatically runs the
installation, skip to step 5; if not,
continue to step 2.
2. CLICK Start.
3. SELECT Run.
4. ENTER e:\setup.exe (where e: is your
CD-ROM drive) and PRESS [ENTER].
5. ENTER your name, organization, and
access code (located at the top of this
page) and PRESS [ENTER].
6. READ and PRESS [ENTER] to accept
terms of License Agreement.
7. SELECT the default directory or enter
the applicable directory for your needs
and PRESS [ENTER].
8. SELECT the default folder name, or
TYPE a new folder name, or SELECT
one from your existing folders list and
PRESS [ENTER].
9. PRESS [ENTER] to complete
installation.
To install Data GateWeigh:
1. CREATE a Data GateWeigh user into your UNIX system
(the typical Hobart user name is hobart.) Contact your
System Administrator if you need help.
2. LOG on to the UNIX system as the Data GateWeigh
user in order to install the application. Do not perform
the installation procedure as super user/root
because the directories created may be inaccessible
to you when you log in as the Data GateWeigh user.
3. CREATE a subdirectory in your home directory (for
example "dg") and make it the current directory.
4. INSERT the disk labeled Data GateWeigh Disk 1 in
your floppy drive.
5. TYPE tar xvf "floppy-disk-device-name" at the
prompt, and PRESS [ENTER] (i.e. $tar xvf /dev/fd0). If
you don’t know the name of your floppy disk device or if
the tar command fails, contact your System
Administrator.
6. INSERT the disk labeled Data GateWeigh Disk 2, when
you are prompted for the second disk, then TYPE tar
xvf "floppy-disk-device-name" and PRESS [ENTER].
7. INSERT the disk labeled Data GateWeigh Disk 3, when
you are prompted for the third disk, then TYPE tar xvf
"floppy-disk-device-name" and PRESS [ENTER].
8. TYPE ./install.sh at the prompt, and PRESS [ENTER].
