instructions are part of the product. They contain important

information about safety, usage, and disposal. Before using the

product, please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety

instructions. This appliance may only be used as described and

for the purposes indicated. Please also pass these operating

instructions on to any future owner.

The following warning types are used in these operating instructions:

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to

potential injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that

follow this symbol to avoid possible injury and death.

WARNING indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,

could result in death or serious injury.

CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,

could result in minor or moderate injury.

NOTICE indicates information that is considered important, but

not hazardous (e.g. messages related to property damage).

A “Tip” identiﬁes additional information that will assist you in

Safety instructions

This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance.

This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may

result in personal injury and property damage.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should

always be followed, including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE!

2. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described

in this manual.

3. Never immerse the cord, the plug or the appliance base

in water or any other liquids! There is a risk of fatal electric

shock if residual liquids come into contact with live compo-

nents during operation. Should the appliance ever fall into

liquid, immediately remove the power plug from the socket.

4. Do not use the appliance if it is on a wet surface or if your

hands or the appliance are wet.

5. Ensure a safe and stable location for the appliance.

6. Do not place on or near a gas or electric burner, or in a heated

oven.

7. Do not use the appliance outside area. Indoor use only!

8. Always keep the appliance, the cord and the plug away from

open ﬂames and hot surfaces, including the stove. Do not

wrap the cord around the appliance.

9. Use only easily accessible power sockets so that you can

unplug the appliance quickly in the event of a malfunction.

10. Position the cord in such a way that no one can step on it or

trip over it, and that it cannot be pinched or otherwise dam-

aged. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or

counter, or touch hot surfaces.

11. Make sure that the power cord never gets wet or damp

during operation.

Always disconnect the plug from the power socket before

moving or ﬁlling the appliance, in the event of problems,

before cleaning the appliance and when you are done

using the appliance.

13. Never pull on the cord to disconnect the appliance from the

electrical outlet; instead, grab the plug and pull on the plug

to disconnect the appliance.

14. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or if the

appliance has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk

of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Take it

to a qualiﬁed specialist or our customer service department

for examination and repair.

15. Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.

16. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabil-

ities or lacking experience and/or knowledge unless they

are supervised by a person who is responsible for their

safety, or receive instructions from this person on how to use

the appliance.

17. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not

play with the appliance. Children must not use the appli-

ance as a toy.

18. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried

out by children unless they are supervised.

19. The surfaces of the appliance can become extremely hot

during operation. After use, the surfaces of the heating

elements will still have some residual heat. Therefore, al-

ways hold the lid and the cooking insert by their handles to

remove them.

20. CAUTION! Hot steam escapes from the steam outlet

and when you open the lid! Risk of scalding! Always

open the lid by lifting it by the handle and setting it

aside. Avoid contact between the escaping steam and your

hand and arm. Do not remove the cooking insert until the

steam has completely dissipated.

21. Use only accessories/attachments recommended by the

manufacturer.

22. Never use the appliance without the cooking insert and

water in the cooking bowl.

23. Be careful with the egg pick to prevent injuring yourself.

Important cord information

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the

other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, there is only one way

this plug is intended to ﬁt into a polarized outlet. If the plug does

not completely ﬁt into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not

ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed electrician. Do not attempt to modify the

plug in any way.

a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord)

is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled

in or tripping over a longer cord.

b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are

available and may be used if they are used carefully.

c) If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is

used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply

cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the

electrical rating of the appliance;

2) If the appliance has a grounded plug, the cord set or exten-

sion cord should also be a grounded 3-wire cord; and

3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape

over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on

by children or tripped over.

Intended use

This appliance is exclusively intended for cooking chicken eggs. It

is not intended for use with other foods or other materials.

The appliance is intended exclusively for indoor domestic use.

Do not use it in commercial or industrial environments. Any use

other than the intended use is considered to be improper.

Preparations

Check package contents

This appliance comes standard with the following components:

▯ Electric egg cooker (lid, cooking insert, base)

▯ Measuring beaker with egg pick

▯ Operating instructions

Do not allow children to play with packaging materials.

Risk of suﬀocation!

♦ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions

from the box.

♦ Remove all packaging material and adhesives from the appliance.

Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.

If the delivery is incomplete or damage occurred as a result of

defective packaging or during transport, please contact the customer

service hotline (see section about "3 year limited warranty").

Initial operation

Before starting to use the appliance, ensure that ...

– the appliance, power plug and power cord are in

perfect condition and ...

– all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance

♦ Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section

entitled "Cleaning".

♦ Unwind the power cord from the cable retainer and

guide it through the recess on the edge.

♦ Insert the plug into a suitable power socket.

The appliance is now ready for use.

Cable retainer

There is a cable retainer on the base of the appliance. This

retainer allows you to adjust the length of the power cord to

your requirements.

► Always wrap the power cord around the cable retainer

in clockwise direction. Ensure that you guide the power cord

through the corresponding gap in the rear of the appliance

base for the sake of stability.

Operation

Preparing eggs

♦ Pick a hole in the bottom of the egg with the egg pick .

This allows the air inside the egg to dissipate as it expands

during boiling. It prevents the shell from bursting open.

♦ Place up to 7 eggs on the cooking insert with the picked

side up.

♦ Fill the measuring cup up to the MAX marking with tap

water and pour this water into the cooking bowl .

♦ Place the cooking insert into the cooking bowl and place

the lid on top.

Boiling all eggs to the same ﬁrmness

The preprogrammed cooking times relate to average-sized eggs

(size M/L) at a temperature of around 7 °C (44.6 °F, refrigerator

temperature).

♦ Turn the control switch to the position that corresponds to

the desired egg ﬁrmness (see the symbols to the right of the

control):

Move the control switch to the left of the respective symbol

(for a shorter cooking time) if

a) you want to cook less than the maximum number of eggs,

b) the eggs are smaller than average (size S), or

c) the eggs are at room temperature and have not been taken

out of the refrigerator.

Move the control switch to the right of the respective symbol

(for longer cooking time) if the eggs are larger than average

(size XL).

♦ Press the operating switch to the "I" position to turn the

appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and

cooking begins.

♦ As soon as the eggs are cooked to the desired ﬁrmness, a beep

will be heard. To turn the appliance oﬀ, set the operating switch

to the "O" position. The integrated control lamp turns oﬀ.

♦ Carefully remove the lid and the cooking insert by its

handle from the cooking bowl .

► The steam and condensation on the inside of the lid are hot.

Avoid contact with the steam and hot water! Risk of scalding!

♦ After cooking, shock the eggs in the cooking insert in cold,

ﬂowing water so the egg does not continue cooking.

♦ Pour any remaining water out of the cooking bowl down the

drain.

Boiling eggs to diﬀerent degrees of ﬁrmness

You can boil eggs to two diﬀerent degrees of ﬁrmness in the appli-

ance. It will always reach the softest level ﬁrst. For reliable results,

all the eggs must be of the same size and have the same starting

temperature.

For the ﬁrst cooking process, the symbols to the right of

the control apply.

For the second cooking process, the symbols to the left of

the control apply.

♦ Prepare the eggs as described in the section "Preparing eggs".

♦ Turn the control switch to the position that corre-

sponds to the softest ﬁrmness level of the eggs (the

symbols to the right of the control apply).

♦ Press the operating switch to the "I" position to turn the

appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and

cooking begins.

♦ As soon as the eggs have reached the ﬁrst, softer ﬁrmness

level, a beep will be heard. To turn the appliance oﬀ, set the

operating switch to the "O" position.

The integrated control lamp turns oﬀ.

♦ Then take oﬀ the lid and carefully remove the desired number

of eggs (those that have been cooked to the softer ﬁrmness

level).

The boiled eggs are very hot! Always wear oven gloves to protect

your ﬁngers when touching the eggs. Risk of burns!

Shock the removed eggs under cold, ﬂowing water.

♦ Replace the lid and turn the control switch to the position

of the symbol to the left of the control (the desired ﬁrmness

level for the eggs that remain in the appliance):

♦ Press the operating switch to the "I" position to turn the

appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and the

second part of the dual cooking process begins.

♦ As soon as the eggs have reached the second ﬁrmness level, a

beep will be heard. To turn the appliance oﬀ, set the operating

switch to the "O" position. The integrated control lamp turns oﬀ.

♦ Carefully remove the lid and the cooking insert by its

handle from the cooking bowl .

► The steam and condensation on the inside of the lid are hot.

Avoid contact with the steam and hot water! Risk of scalding!

♦ After cooking, shock the eggs in the cooking insert in cold,

ﬂowing water to allow the shells to be removed more easily

and so the egg does not continue cooking.

♦ Pour any remaining water out of the cooking bowl down the

drain.

Cleaning

► Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the power plug from

the power socket! Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock!

► Never open any parts of the housing. There are no serviceable

parts whatsoever inside. When the housing is open, there is

the risk of receiving a potentially fatal electrical shock.

► Never immerse the cord, the plug or the appliance base in

water or any other liquid! There is a risk of fatal electric shock

if residual liquids come into contact with live components

during operation.

► Allow the appliance to cool suﬃciently before cleaning it.

Risk of burns!

► Be careful while you clean the measuring cup to avoid the

egg pick . Risk of injury!

► Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents. They can attack

the surface and damage the appliance beyond repair.

Cleaning the appliance

♦ First disconnect the power plug from the power socket.

♦ Allow the appliance to cool down.

♦ Then clean the cooking bowl and the surface of the appli-

ance base with a slightly damp cloth.

♦ Always dry the appliance properly before using it again.

Removal of limescale

If limescale starts building up on the cooking bowl , proceed as

follows to remove it:

♦ Fill the measuring cup one third full with lemon juice. Then

ﬁll the measuring cup up to the MAX marking with water.

♦ Pour this lemon juice solution into the cooking bowl .

♦ Plug the power plug into a suitable wall socket and press the

operating switch to the "I" position to turn the appliance on.

♦ Allow the lemon juice to simmer for about 10 seconds.

♦ Turn the appliance oﬀ by moving the operating switch to the

"O" position.

♦ Pull the plug from the power socket.

♦ Allow the appliance and the lemon juice to cool down.

♦ Pour out the lemon juice and wipe the cooking bowl with a

damp cloth.

Cleaning the accessories

♦ Wash the lid , the cooking insert and the measuring cup

with dish detergent under ﬂowing water.

♦ Dry all parts well before using them again or storing them.

The lid , the cooking insert and the measuring cup

are dishwasher-proof. If possible, place the parts in the top

rack of the dishwasher and make sure they do not get

pinched. Otherwise, they may become warped.

Storage

► Allow the appliance to cool down before putting it away.

♦ Wrap the power cord around the cable retainer .

♦ Store the appliance in a dry location.

Disposal

Disposal of the appliance

Electrical appliances may not be thrown away as part of normal

household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical appli-

ance, dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions appli-

cable in your state. This will ensure that old electrical appliances

are recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.

Further information about disposal is available on the internet at

www.epa.gov.

Disposal of the packaging

Note the marking on the diﬀerent packaging materials and sepa-

rate them as necessary. The packaging materials are marked with

abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:

1–7: Plastics

20–22: Paper and cardboard

80–98: Composites

Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly

manner.

3 year limited warranty

What does this warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.

▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow

the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user

manual.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts

(such as switches, glass, etc.);

▯ Improper use or transport;

▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;

▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, ﬁre, water, etc.);

▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing

screws etc.)

Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under

this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or

limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation

or exclusion may not apply to you.

What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?

The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase.

At our discretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.

What will we not do?

We will not:
