WHILE
WORKING
WITH
TOOLS

Keep the working area clean. Injuries are more likely to occur if the working area and bench are cluttered.
Keep the environment safe. Do not expose the tools to rain and do not use them in humid or wet environments.
Work in a well lit
area.
Do not use the tool in the presence of flammable gases or liquids.
Keep yourself safe from electric shocks. Avoid coming into contact with surfaces that are connected to the earth.
Keep away onlookers and children. Children and onlookers are to remain at a safe distance from the working
area.
Tools are to be tidied away
when
not in use. All tools that are not in use must be stored under lock and key in a dry
place, out of the reach of children.
Do not force the tool. It will be safer and perform better if allowed to work at the speed for which it was designed.
Use a tool with a size and rating that are best suited to the task in hand. Do not force a small tool to do the work of
a heavy-duty tool. For example, do not use a circular saw to cut branches or logs.
Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothes
or
jewellery
that could be caught in moving parts. Non-skid
shoes are particularly recommended for outdoor
work.
Wear a protective covering to contain long hair.
Always wear safety goggles. A mask should also be used if the operation generates dust.
Connect the dust removal equipment. If any dust recovery systems are available, make sure they are connected and
used correctly.
Take care of the electrical cord. Never pull the cord to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat,
oil and sharp edges.
Secure
the
workpiece.
As far as possible, use clamps or a vice to hold the workpiece. Do not hold the workpiece in
place with your hands.
Do not bend over the tool. Keep your balance at all times.
Keep the tools in perfect condition. Keep tools sharp and clean for maximum efficiency and safety. Follow the
instructions while lubricating and changing accessories. Regularly check the cord and replace it if damaged. Keep
the handles dry, clean and free of oil and grease.
Disconnect the tool when not in use, before maintenance work and before changing accessories such as blades, drill
bits,
cutters,
etc.
Keep away any tightening and adjusting keys. Get into the habit of making sure that tightening and adjusting keys
have been moved away from the tool before starting it up.
Avoid unintentional starting up. Make sure that the switch is set to OFF before you connect the tool.
Only use extension cords designed for outdoor use. While using the tool outdoors, only use extension cords that
have been designed for outdoor use, marked to that effect.
19. Stay alert. Do not use the tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
20. Inspect all parts for damage. Before continuing to use the tool, inspect any safety guard or other part for damage,
in order to make sure that it is operating satisfactorily and fulfilling its purpose. Check that moving parts are
properly aligned, not jamming and not
broken.
Also, check the assembly or any other condition that could affect
operation.
Any damaged part or guard must be repaired or replaced in an approved after-sales service centre. Do

not use the tool if the switch is not operating correctly.
21. Warning: the use of accessories that are not recommended in this manual may give rise to a risk of injury.

Have
the tool repaired by a qualified technician. This electric tool has been manufactured in accordance with appro
priate safety requirements. Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified person using original spare parts.
Otherwise,
they may be very hazardous for the user.
23. Keep these instructions for reference and give them to any new owner of the machine.
1. Warning: Only use blades designed for cross cutting. While using carbide-tipped blades, make sure their cutting
angle is zero or negative. Do not use blades with deep gullets as they could bend and come in contact with the
blade guard.
2. Warning: Do not use the saw before it is fully assembled and installed according to the instructions.
3. If you are not fully familiar with the use of sliding mitre
saws,
obtain advice from the supervisor, instructor or
another competent person.
4.
Warning: Sawing by pulling the saw towards you can be hazardous, as the saw may jump up towards you. Always
push the saw forward away from your
body
and towards the guide fence when sawing with the help of the sliding
mechanism.
5. While using the saw as a mitre saw and plunge cutting, make sure that the saw slide mechanism is locked to stop it
moving back towards the operator.
6. While folding the feet in or out, take care not to pinch your fingers.
7. Place the support on a flat and horizontal surface to stop the machine from rocking or tipping.
8. Make sure the extensions are locked properly before starting the tool.
9. Do not stand on the table or use the extensions as ladders or scaffolding.
10. Do not exceed a weight of 20 kg per extension.
11. Warning: Never place your hands inside the area designated as the hazardous area while the tool is operating.
12. Always keep the workpiece properly applied against the guide fence and the table. Do not perform free-hand
operations.
13- Important: If the workpiece is such that the hands need to be located less than 10 cm from the saw blade, the piece
must be clamped to the table before cutting.
14. Make sure that the blade is properly sharpened and that it can turn freely with no vibrations.
15. Let the motor reach full speed before starting to cut.
16. Keep the motor air circulation openings clean and free of chips.
17. Always make sure that the fastening levers are fastened before starting to cut.
18. Make sure that the blade and flanges are clean and that the spindle screw is tight.
19. Only use original flanges with the saw.
20. Never use blades with a diameter that is larger or smaller than that recommended. Never use blades with a
thickness that is different from the original thickness or a different bore diameter.
21. Never lubricate the blade when it is turning.
22 . Always check the blade for cracks and damage before use. Immediately replace the blade if cracked or damaged.
23. Use only blades designed to operate
at
speeds of at least
6500
rpm.
24. Only use blades with
a
bore diameter of 30 mm.
25. Use the blade guard
at
all times.
26. The lower blade guard must always be
in
place and operating correctly.
27. Always keep your hands away
from
the path of the blade.
28. Never reach around or behind the blade.
29. Make sure that the blade
is
not touching the workpiece before switching
it
on.
31.
Important: After cutting, release the switch and wait for the blade to stop before moving up the saw.
32. The use of accessories that are not recommended by PSP Outillage may lead to injuries.
33. Make sure that the blade comes to
a
complete stop before you move or clamp the workpiece, change the angle of
the workpiece or change the angle of the blade.
34. Never cut ferrous metals or masonry.
35. Never re-cut small pieces.
36. Ensure that long pieces are appropriately supported on both sides of the table.
37. Never use the mitre saw in
a
place with flammable
liquids
or gas.
38. Never use solvents to clean plastic parts. Solvents may dissolve or damage the
material.
Just wipe plastic parts clean
with
a
moist cioth.
39. Disconnect the saw from the power supply before maintenance work or changing the blade.
40.
After use, disconnect the saw from the power supply and clean
it.
41.
Make sure that the working area is clean before leaving the machine.
42. If any part of the saw
is
missing, damaged
or
faulty or
if
an electrical part does not work correctly, switch off the
saw
and disconnect it from the power socket. Replace the missing, damaged or faulty part before restarting the
saw.
43. Please keep these instructions for future use. Refer to them frequently and use them to inform other users.

information regarding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are disposed

in landfills or dumps, hazardous

CONNECTING
THE
MACHINE
-
ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS
EXTENSION CORDS
Only use extension cords with three conductors ending in two-pin plugs and sockets with two holes and an earth pin that
are
suited to the plug of the tool. When using a power tool
at
a considerable distance from the power source, use an exten-
sion cord heavy enough to carry the current that the tool will
draw.
An undersized extension cord will cause a drop in line
voltage, resulting in
a
loss of power and causing the motor to overheat. Use the chart provided below to determine the mini-
mum wire size required
in
an extension cord. Only round jacketed extension listed by laboratories should be used.

Before
using an extension cord, inspect it for loose or exposed wires and cut or worn insulation. Repair or replace any dama-

Your machine has a precision built electric motor. It should be connected to a power supply that

230 V, 50 Hz.
If
your tool
does not operate when plugged into a socket, double-check the power supply characteristics.

The values given are emission values calculated according to applicable standards and not values relating to use in the work-
place. Although correlation between those different emission levels does exist, this cannot be reliably used to determine
whether
additional precautions are necessary. Factors with potential influence on the sound emission level in the workplace

Your
new double bevel sliding compound
mitre
saw is shipped complete in a box.
Unpack
it carefully along
with
all its
spare
parts.
Take
the
protective
coating
off
all
the unpainted
parts.
This
protective
coating may be removed
with
a soft
cloth
mois-
tened
with
WD40.
Do not use acetone,
petrol
or paint thinner.
IMPORTANT:
Do not
lift
the
mitre
saw
by the
operating
handle
as
that
could
upset
the
alignments.
Always
lift
the
tool
by its
base
or its
carrying
handle
if
it
has
one.
NB:
if any parts are damaged or missing,
do
not connect
the
mitre
saw and do not set the switch to ON
until
the
damaged or
missing parts
have
been replaced or
obtained
and installed correctly.
Do not
dispose

packing box
before

THE
MITRE
HANDLE
Before using your double bevel sliding compound mitre saw, you must
assemble
the mitre handle (J) Fig. 2.
Screw
the handle on
(J).The
handle is
used
to lock the table at the required angle while cutting mitres.

IMPORTANT!
Before
starting
a cut,
make
sure
that
this
handle
is
locked
and
that
the saw
table
is
locked
In
place.

TABLE
ROTATION
AND
MITRE
STOPS
The table has mitre stops at, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45° to the
left
and
right.
When you turn the table, it will automatically stop
at
the next stop.
To turn the table, make
sure
that the mitre handle is unlocked and turn the table to the required angle.
Then
tighten the
mitre
handle once more.

ASSEMBLING
THE
SAW
VICES
The vertical and horizontal
vices
may be
fitted
to the
left
or
right
of the saw and are fully adjustable to the workpiece.
Do not use the saw
without
first clamping the workpiece.

into one of the holes on the guide fence and tighten
the
locking knob (C) against the rod
of the
vice.

vice
by inserting it into one of the
holes located on the
base
of the saw.

and then push or pull the
vice
depending on the
size
of the workpiece to clamp.
Lock the
vice
in position by pressing knob (B) against the
threaded rod (A).
4.
VICE
OPERATION
1. The height of the vertical
vice
or the width of the horizontal
vice
may be adjusted by loosening the locking knobs and
sliding the body of the
vices
up,
down,
forward
or backwards.
Once
the height or width of the
vice
has been adjusted, tighten
the
locking knobs once more.
2. Position the vertical
vice
or horizontal
vice
so that the underside of the
pads
is slightly in contact
with
the top of the work-
piece.
3. To finally clamp the workpiece against the table, screw the knobs until the workpiece is clamped. After
cutting,
loosen the
locking knobs to
slide
away or remove the workpiece.

ASSEMBLING
THE
LATERAL
EXTENSION
WINGS
The mitre saw is supplied
with
two lateral extension wings
(A)

to support larger workpieces when they are being
cut.
The extension wings may be
assembled
on either
side
of
the
saw, depending on the
size
of the workpiece.
Loosen the locking knob (B), insert the extension wings in
the
holes located on either
side
of the saw
base
and tighten
the
locking knob (B) once more.

THE REAR
EXTENSION
This
mitre saw has a rear extension (A) Fig. 6, which makes
the
saw more stable if
the
head is accidentally released by
preventing
it
from
tilting
backwards.

Insert
the dust bag (A)

into
the connection
port
(B) and
check
that
it is properly secured.
If
you wish to improve dust removal, a vacuum cleaner
with
a dust removal pipe may be connected directly to the extrac-
tion
elbow of
the
saw.
NB: Empty the bag regularly in order
to
avoid a build up of
dust.
The dust bag has a zip fastener to make it easier to
empty.The dust bag may also be rinsed
with
warm soapy
water
and dried before reuse.
Make sure
that
the bag's zip fastener is closed
before
you
use
the
saw.

particles
can
give
rise
to
*
respiratory
problems.
For
your own
protection,
the
use
of dust masks that comply
with
applicable
standards is
recommended.
8.
GUIDE
FENCE
EXTENSIONS
The guide fence may be extended on the
sides
while
cutting
wide
workpieces.
To do so:
1. Loosen the Allen key screw (B)

using the Allen key.
2. Loosen the locking knob (C).
3.
Slide
the extension (A) to the required position and
tigh-
ten
the screw (B) and the knob (C) once more.
ASSEMBLY AND
ADJUSTMENTS
/j\: Before adjusting the saw, make sure it is disconnected from the power source.
.5rsafe, accurate and effective saw operation, the following adjustment procedures must be
complied
with.
When all the adjustments have been made, make sure that all the keys and tools are
outside
the
machine
and that all the
screws, bolts and other fasteners are correctly fastened.
Do not use the saw before following these procedures.
While
you make these adjustments, check that all the external parts are operating correctly and are in
good
condition.
Any
damaged
or broken parts must be replaced by a
qualified
person before the saw is used.

FASTENING
THE SAW TO A SURFACE
Before
use, the saw must be fastened securely to a level surface.
1. Four holes are located at the ends of the saw
base
to fasten the saw to a workbench or
other
supporting
surface.
2.
If
you
use lateral extension wings, fit them before securing the saw to the
supporting
surface.
3. If the saw is
often
moved, mount it on a plywood
base
(at least 20 mm
thick),
which can then be
easily
clamped to any
maintaining
surface.

Make
sure
that the plywood base is not
corrugated,
as a base that is not
level
would have an
adverse
effect
on cutting.
Check
the
following
adjustments to be sure of achieving an exact cut.
2.
INSPECTION
AND
ADJUSTMENT
OF
ANGLES
IN
RELATION
TO THE BLADE
The
different
angle positions for mitre cuts have been adjusted in the
factory.
However, for precision
work,
check
whether
the
angles are correct
before
you use your mitre saw.
ADJUSTING
THE
GUIDE
FENCE
FOR
A
go'
MITRE
CUT
Make sure
that
the blade is perpendicular to the guide fence.
1. Lock down the saw head,
tightening
the locking knob to put the saw in the
transport
position (see Fig.i).
2. Loosen the mitre handle and set it
0°.Tighten
the mitre handle once more.
3. Loosen the bevel adjustment handle on the rear of the machine and set the bevel to. Then
tighten
the bevel adjustment
handle once more.
4. Set one end of

square (not supplied) against the guide fence and the
other
against the saw blade. Make sure
that
the
square is correctly positioned along the blade
without
touching its
teeth.
When the square is correctly
positioned,
its two
ends must be fully in contact
with
the saw blade and the guide fence.
5. If the saw blade is not in contact
with
the square, adjust the guide fence as
follows:
Remove the Allen key screws and loosen the two
locking
knobs
that
hold the guide fence extensions.
Slide
out and remove the extensions.
Loosen the
four
Allen key screws (A)

two
sides
of
the
guide fence.
Place
the square against the saw blade. Move the
guide
until
it is fully in contact
with
the end of the
square.
Fasten the
four
Allen key screws (A) and put back
the
guide fence extensions.
ADJUSTING
THE
SAW
TABLE
IN
RELATION
TO
THE
BLADE
Make sure
that
the saw blade is perpendicular to the saw table.
1. Lock down the saw head,
tightening
the locking knob to put the saw in the
transport
position (see Fig.i).
2. Loosen the mitre handle and set it. Tighten the mitre handle once more.
3. Loosen the bevel adjustment handle on the rear of the machine and set the bevel to o°.Then
tighten
the bevel adjustment
handle once more.
4. Set one end of a square (not supplied) on the table and the
other
against the
flat
part of the saw blade. Make sure
that
the
square is in contact
with
the blade but does not touch its
teeth.
When the square is correctly
positioned,
the two ends of
the
square must be fully in contact
with
the saw blade and the table of
the
mitre saw.
5.
If
the
saw blade does not fully touch the end of
the
square:
Unfasten the locking nuts (A)

(located on either side of
the
bevel adjustment handle) to release the two
bolts
(B).
Loosen the bevel adjustment handle (C) and pull the adjustment
button
(D)
towards
you.
Place
the square against the saw table.
Adjust the two bevel adjustment bolts (B)
until
the
two ends of the square are in contact
with
the
blade and the table.
Tighten the bevel lock handle (C) and the locking
nuts
(A) once more.
Make sure once again
that
the saw blade
is
perpendicular

Disconnect the
power
cord

Lock
down
the
saw
head and lock the slide mechanism before transporting the mitre saw.

Carry
the
mitre
saw
close
to your
body
to
keep
your back
safe
from
injury. Bend your knees while lifting the
saw.

Carry
the saw
with
the carrying handle if
there
is
one, or
by its base. Do not carry the
saw
by the
power
cord
or
the
operating handle. If
you
carry the
saw
by the
power
cord,
there
is a risk of damaging the electrical insulation or
connections, and thus creating an electric shock

Place
the saw in an
unfrequented
location,
where
people
cannot
move

Wood

4.
ADJUSTING
THE
GROOVING
DEPTH
The lower
limit
position of the blade can be adjusted so as to
make groove cuts.
The maximum grooving depth of
the
saw must be set so
that
the blade
is
not in contact
with
the saw base, as the
blade could damage the base. To adjust the
depth,
proceed
as
follows:

Lift
the saw blade to its highest position.
2. Unfasten the nut (C)

CUTTING
A WORKPIECE

you

to
make
cuts

your
saw,

sure that

been
assembled
and
adjusted correctly. Make
sure
that you have
read
and understood all the safety instructions in this instruction manual.
Make sure that the mitre handle is locked before
starting
the cut.
Serious
injury
may occur if this instruction is not
fol-
lowed.
To start
cutting
with
the mitre saw:
1.
Raise
the
cutting
arm to its highest position.
2.
Select
and lock the saw at the required mitre angle.
3.
Select
and lock the saw at the required bevel angle.
4. Make sure
that
the
size
of
the
workpiece
is
suited to the capacity
of
the
saw.
5.
Clamp
the workpiece securely to the saw using the vertical or horizontal vice.
6. Maintain wide workpieces firmly so
that
they cannot
tilt
over or use the lateral extension wings or support stands.
7. Make sure
that
your hands are clearly out of the path of the blade.
8.
Pull
the
cutting
arm on the slide rails, holding the handle.
9.
Press
in the trigger switch to start the saw and let the blade reach its maximum speed.
10.
Then
lower the saw blade slowly
through
the workpiece and slide the blade in the opposite direction to complete the cut.
Do not force the blade. It
will
be more efficient and precise when used at the speed for which it
is
designed.
11.
Release
the trigger
switch,
let the blade come to a halt and bring the
cutting
arm back up when the cut
is
completed.

7. CORRECT
TECHNIQUE
FOR
CUTTING
USING
THE SLIDE FEATURE
Warning:
Sawing by pulling the saw
towards
you can be hazardous, as the saw may jump up towards you. Always push the
saw back away
from
your body and towards the guide fence when sawing
with
the help of the slide. The
following
stages
illustrate
the correct method for using the slide feature of your sliding compound mitre saw:
1.
Place
the workpiece on the saw
table,
against the guide fence. Hold the handle
of
the
cutting
arm but do not yet start the
saw.
2.
Pull
the
cutting
arm, when it
is
up.
Once
the
cutting
arm has been pulled towards you,
press
the trigger switch to start the
saw.
3.
Press
the locking latch and
press
the
cutting
arm.
4.
Push
the
cutting
arm back towards the guide fence to make the cut.
5.
Release
the trigger and
leave
the
cutting
arm down until the blade comes to a complete halt.

Once
the blade has
stopped,
raise

arm to the up position.
8. USING
THE
SAW FOR CROSS CUTS
While
cutting
material
that
is sufficiently narrow to allow the saw blade to make a cut using a
downward
movement (simi-
lar to
that
of a conventional mitre saw) instead of sliding the saw
through
the
workpiece,
the sliding movement of
the
saw
is locked in the rear position by
tightening
the locking knob of the slide rails.
Push
the
cutting
arm down to make the cut.
When the cut is complete, release the trigger switch and
wait
for the blade to come to a complete halt before
lifting
up the
saw head.
9. CUTTING CURVED MATERIALS
Inspect your workpiece before
starting
the cut.
If
the
piece is curved, set it against the guide fence
with
the
curved side as shown in the figure opposite.

not
cut
your
curved
work-
piece
as
shown,
it
could
pinch
the
blade.
The
workpiece
could
move
suddenly,

to

14. CUTTING CORNICES AND MOULDINGS
One of the unique characteristics of the saw is the
ease
with
which
you can cut cornices.
Cornices
can be cut very exactly
with
your saw.The two
surfaces of
the
cornice must fit against the wall or ceiling
and vice versa.
Below is an example of how to cut the inside and outside
corners of corhices
with
52/38° wall angles
(Fig.21).
N.B.:
While
cutting
cornices
with
a 45° wall angle, the
method
below is the
same
for inside and outside corners,
only
the bevel cut position is always 30° and the mitre cut is
351/4°
to the
left
or
right.
1. Set the mitre angle to
31.62*
to the
right.
A positive stop is
provided
for the fast
setting
of
that
mitre angle. Set the saw
blade at a bevel angle of 33.9°.
2.
Place
the cornice on the saw table with the ceiling

you need to use a vice to hold the workpiece firmly
against the

CHANGING
THE BLADE

Blunt

worn
saw blades can lead to serious injury and make the

To avoid
injury
due to the projection of debris, do not use blades with a diameter smaller or larger than 305 mm.

Do not use

Use
only
blades designed for cross cutting. While using carbide-tipped blades, make sure their cutting angle is zero
or negative. Do not use blades with deep gullets as they could bend and come in contact with the blade guard.

1 - Scope of the warranty:
The warranty shall only apply

turing
defects or material defects.
We are obliged
to
exchange or repair parts
that
are
identified
as being unusable
2 - Lifetime warranty:
The
warranty
shall be valid for 24 months
from
the delivery date of
the
equipment
to the
user (invoice or
till
receipt must be
provided).
Exchanges
or repairs carried out under
the
warranty
shall
not
extend
the original
warranty
period.
The user shall be responsible for
original
shipping
charges.
3 - Reservations:
The
warranty
shall not under any circums-
tances cover repairs carried out by a non-
authorised
repairer.
The equipment should not be dismantled
under
any circumstances
during
the
war-
ranty
period.
