3.SAFE OPERATION
Before operating the product
1. Before using our products, please read this manual carefully to understand
the correct use of your unit.
2. Never operate a chain saw when you are fatigued, ill or upset, or under the
influence of medications that may cause drowsiness or if you are under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
3. Use the chain saw only in well-ventilated areas. Never start or run the engine
inside a closed room or building. Exhaust gases contain dangerous carbon
monoxide. Lubricating oil mist and saw dust are poisonous to the operator.
4. Never mow in strong wind, bad weather, when visibility is poor or in very high
or low temperatures. Always check the tree and dead branches that could fall
during the felling operation.
5. Wear safety and non-slip shoes, tight-fitting clothing, and eye, hearing, and
head protection. Use the anti-vibration (AV) glove.
It is believed that a condition called Raynaud's phenomenon, which affects the
fingers of certain individuals, may be caused by exposure to vibration and cold.
Loss of color and numbness in the fingers. The following precautions are
recommended, since the minimum exposure that could cause illness is
unknown:
Keep your body warm, especially your head, neck, feet, ankles, hands and
wrists. Maintain good blood circulation by doing vigorous arm exercises during
frequent work breaks and also by not smoking. Keep the saw chain sharp and
the saw, including the AV system, well maintained. A dull chain will increase
cutting time, and pressing a loose chain through the wood will increase the
vibrations transmitted to your hands. A saw with loose components or damaged
or worn shock absorbers will also tend to have higher vibration levels. Limit
hours of operation.
Continuous and regular users should closely monitor the condition of their
fingers and hands while working.
If any of the symptoms described appear, consult a doctor immediately.
■ Working with the machine
1. Always use caution when handling fuel. Wipe up all spills and then move the
chain saw at least ten (10) feet (three (3) m) from the fueling point before
starting the engine.
2. Eliminate all sources of sparks or flames (for example, smoking, open flames,
or work that may cause sparks) in areas where fuel is mixed, poured, or stored.
Do not smoke while handling fuel or while operating the chain saw.
9
3. Do not allow other people to be near the chainsaw when starting the engine
or cutting wood. Keep bystanders and animals out of the work area. Children,
pets and bystanders should be a minimum of 30 feet (10m) away when starting
or operating the chain saw.
4. Never start cutting until you have a clear work area, secure footing, and a
planned retreat path from the falling tree.
5. Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands when the engine is running.
Use a firm grip with your thumb and fingers surrounding the chainsaw handles.
6. Keep all parts of your body away from the saw chain when the engine is
running. Before starting the engine, make sure the saw chain is not in contact
with anything.
7. Always carry the chainsaw with the engine stopped, the guide bar and saw
chain rearward, and the muffler away from your body.
8. Always inspect the chainsaw before each use for worn, loose or changed
parts. Never operate a chain saw that is damaged, improperly adjusted, or not
completely and securely assembled. Make sure the saw chain stops moving
when the throttle control trigger is released.
9. All chain saw services, other than those listed in the Operator's Manual, must
be performed by the manufacturer's or importer's service center (for example, if
inappropriate tools are used to remove the flywheel or if a tool is used
Inadequate to hold the flywheel to remove the clutch, structural damage to the
flywheel could occur which could result in disintegration of the flywheel).
10. Always turn off the engine before adjusting or making any changes.
11. Be very careful when cutting small stump and saplings because the thin
material can catch the saw chain and be whipped toward you or removed.
12. When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for the back of the tension
so that you are not struck when the tension in the wood fibers is released.
13. Keep handles dry, clean, and free of oil or fuel mixture.
14. Protect against rebounds. Kickback is the upward movement of the guide
bar that occurs when the saw chain in the nose of the guide bar contacts an
object. Kickback can lead to dangerous loss of control of the chain saw.
15. When transporting and storing the chain saw, make sure the bar protection
sheath is in place. Securely position the machine during transportation to
prevent fuel loss, damage, or injury.
10
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR CHAINSAW USERS
Kickback can occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar
touches an object, or when the wood comes close and
pinches the chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases can cause a rapid reverse
action, flipping the bar toward the operator. Cutting the
chainsaw along the top of the guide bar can drive the guide bar quickly toward
the operator.
Any of these reactions can cause loss of control of the saw which could result in
serious injury.
Do not rely solely on the safety devices built into your saw. As a chainsaw
user, you should take several steps to keep your cutting jobs free of
accidents or injuries. Control your safety at all times.
(1)
With a basic understanding of kickbacks, you can reduce or
eliminate the element of surprise. Sudden surprise contributes to
accidents.
(2)
Maintain a good grip on the saw with both hands, right hand on
the rear handle and left hand on the front handle, when the engine
is running. Use a firm grip with your thumbs and fingers
surrounding the chainsaw handles. A firm grip will help reduce
kickback and maintain control of the saw. Don't let her go.
(3)
Make sure the area you cut is free of obstructions. Do not allow
the nose of the guide bar to touch a log, branch or any other
obstruction that may be struck while operating the saw.
(4)
Cutting at high engine speeds.
(5)
Do not extend or cut above shoulder height.
(6)
Follow the manufacturer's sharpening and maintenance
instructions for the saw chain.
(7)
Use only replacement bars and chains specified by the
manufacturer or its equivalent.
11
4.INSTALLATION OF THE CHAIN AND CUTTING BAR
The saw chain has very sharp edges. Please use protective gloves for your
safety. Make sure the engine is stopped and turned off before adjusting the bar
and saw chain.
The chainsaw box must contain the elements shown below:
1. Machine
2. Chain
3. Sword
4. Sword sheath
5. Spark plug wrench
6. Sharpening file
Open the box and install the guide bar and saw chain on the machine as shown.
Move the guard toward the front handle to verify that the chain brake is
not activated.
Loosen the nut and remove the clutch cover.
Secure the spiked bumper with two screws to the front of the chainsaw.
IMPORTANT
The spiked bumper belongs to the chainsaw. It must be screwed onto the
chainsaw before initial use.
1. Nut
2. Clutch cover
3. Spiked Bumpers
4. Tapping screw
12
Remove the spacer from the chainsaw.
1. Spacer
Place the guide bar into the power unit and then push the guide bar
toward the clutch (Figure 3).
2. Sword
Gear the chain to the sprocket and, while placing the saw chain around
the guide bar.
NOTE
Pay attention to the correct direction of the chainsaw.
Adjust the position of the chain tensioner nail, and then insert the
tensioner nail into the bottom hole of the guide bar. Mount the clutch
cover to the power unit and tighten the mounting nut finger tight. While
holding the nose of the bar, adjust the chain tension by turning the
tensioning screw until the retaining straps touch the underside of the bar
rail.
13
3. Tension nail
4. Tension screw
Tighten the nut firmly with the bar tip raised (12 ~ 15 Nm). Next, check
that the chain rotates smoothly and has proper tension as you move it by
hand. If necessary, readjust with the chain cover loose.
Turn the tensioner
screw clockwise to
tighten the chain,
turn the tensioner
screw
counterclockwise to
loosen the chain.
Check the tension of the saw chain. Use your
hand to lift the chain link that is positioned in the
middle of the cutting length upward with a force
of approximately 10N. If the chain link comes off
the guide bar rail completely, you must retighten
the chain.
IMPORTANT
It is very important to maintain proper chain tension. Rapid guide bar
wear or chain that comes off easily may be caused by improper tension.
Especially when using a new chain, take good care of it as it should
expand when used for the first time.
5. FUEL AND OIL IN THE MACHINE
■Fuel
The engines are lubricated by oil specially formulated for the
use of air-cooled 2-stroke gasoline engines. If oil is not
available, use a quality oil with added antioxidant expressly
labeled for air-cooled 2-stroke engine use.

IMPORTANT
The oil tank should be almost empty when
the fuel runs out. Be sure to fill the oil tank every time you refuel
the chainsaw.
CLUTCH FUNCTIONAL CHECK
Before each use, you must confirm that there is no chain movement
when the chainsaw is idling.
IMPORTANT
During operation, the machine must always be held firmly with both
hands, with the left hand on the front handle and the right hand on the
rear handle, even if the operator is left-handed.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
The carburetor on your unit has been adjusted at the factory but may require
fine adjustment due to change in operating conditions. If the carburetor needs to
be adjusted, contact your dealer or manufacturer's or importer's maintenance
service center. Do not adjust it by yourself. Before adjusting the carburetor,
make sure they are supplied with fresh, clean air/fuel.
When adjusting, take the following guidelines:
IMPORTANT
Be sure to adjust the carburetor with the bar chain attached.
The H and L needles are adjusted by authorized persons. They are restricted
within the number of turns as shown below.
o
Needle H 1/4
o
Needle L 1/4
17
Start the engine and let it warm up at low speed
for a few minutes.
Turn the idle adjustment screw (T)
counterclockwise b so that the saw chain does
not rotate. If the idle speed is too slow, turn the
screw to the right (clockwise).
Make a test cut to adjust the H needle for best
cutting power, not maximum speed.

CHAIN BRAKE
Normally, the brake is activated
automatically by force of inertia. It can
also be activated manually by pressing
the brake lever (front handle guard) down
towards the front. When the brake
operates, a white cone appears from the
base of the brake lever.
(1) Front handle
(2) Trigger
(3) Brake
(4) Front handle guard
To release the brake, pull up on the front
handle guard toward the rear handle until
you hear a "click" sound.
ATTENTION
When the brake comes on, release the throttle trigger to reduce engine
speed. Continued operation with the brake on will generate clutch heat
and can cause problems.
Be sure to check brake operation at daily inspection.
How to check the chain brake:
1)
Turn off the motor.
2)
Hold the chainsaw horizontally, release your hand from the front handle,
knock the tip of the guide bar onto a stump or piece of wood, and confirm the
brake operation. The level of operation varies depending on the size of the
bar. If the brake is not effective, consult our dealer.
18
STOP THE ENGINE
1. Release the throttle trigger to allow the engine to idle
for a few minutes.
2. Place the switch in the "O" (STOP) position.
(1) Engine switch
ATTENTION
Before continuing your work, read the "For safe
operation" section.
It is recommended that you first practice sawing easy
logs. This also helps you get used to your unit.
Always follow all safety regulations that may restrict the
use of the machine.
Always follow safety regulations.
The chainsaw should only be used to cut wood.
Cutting other types of material is prohibited. Vibrations and kickbacks
vary with different materials and the requirements of safety standards
would not be respected.
Do not use the chain saw as a lever to lift, move or split objects.
Do not lock it on fixed supports.
It is prohibited to attach tools or applications to the power take-off. that
are not specified by the manufacturer.
It is not necessary to force the saw into the cut. Apply only light pressure
while running the engine at full speed.
Daily inspection is recommended before use and after drops or other
impacts to identify major damage or defects.
Revving the engine with the chain seized in a cut can damage the clutch
system.
When the saw chain gets caught in the cut, do not try to pull it hard, use a
wedge or pry to open the cut.
19
Kickback protector
This saw is also equipped with a chain brake that will
stop the chain in the event of kickback if it is working
properly. You should check the operation of the chain
brake before each use by running the saw at full
speed for 1 or 2seconds and pushing the front hand
guard forward. The chain must stop immediately with
the engine at full speed. If the chain stops slowly or
does not stop, contact the manufacturer's or
importer's maintenance center to replace the brake
band and clutch drum before use.
It is extremely important that the chain brake be checked for proper
operation before each use and that the chain be sharpened to maintain
the kickback safety level of this saw. Removal of safety devices, improper
maintenance, or incorrect bar or chain replacement can increase the risk of
serious personal injury due to kickback.
Choping down a tree
1. Decide the direction of felling considering wind,
tree density, location of heavy branches, ease of
work after felling and other factors.
2. While clearing the area around the tree, provide a
good foothold and retreat path.
3. Make a notch cut one-third of the way down the
tree on the felling side.
4. Make a felling cut from the opposite side of the
notch and at a level slightly higher than the bottom of
the notch.
ATTENTION
When cutting down a tree, be sure to warn
neighboring workers of the danger.

FELLING AND CLEANING
ATTENTION
1. Always ensure your support point and the stability of the tree.
2. Be alert for a felled log toppling over.
3. Read the instructions to avoid chainsaw kickback.
Before starting work, check the direction of the bending force inside the
log to be cut. Always finish cutting from the opposite side of the bending
direction to prevent the guide bar from getting caught in the cut.
Cut a log on the ground.
Cut halfway, then turn the log and cut on the
opposite side.
Cut a log horizontally.
In area A in the image above, cut a third
from the bottom and finish by cutting down
from the top. In area B, cut downward from
the top third and finish cutting from the
bottom.
Clean a felled tree.
First check which direction the limb is bent.
Then make a shallow cut on the compressed
side to prevent the limb from breaking. Cut
from the tight side.
ATTENTION
Be alert for the springy back of a cut
branch.
Pruning
