QUALIFIER
1.
Make sure your unit is level.
2.
Measure the height from the top of the threshold to the ground:
• 30" to 34" high will be a 3 step
• 38" to 42" high will be a 4 step
3.
Measure the outside width of the door
• StepAbove™ will fit 26", 27", 30", and 32" doors
• See fit chart below
4.
If you have a screen door that has a storm window, these types of
doors tend to be thicker and a small section of the door will need
to be removed to allow the steps to lock in place.
5.
If the door has a strut to keep it from opening all the way, the step
will hit the door and the strut must be removed.
6.
If there is trim on the back side of the lip of the door jamb, it will
need to be notched.
7.
The skirting below the threshold that surrounds the existing step
cannot stick out more than 3/4".
8.
If you are purchasing the optional handrail - if there is anything on
the left hand side of the unit closer than 33", as you face the door,
then the hand rail would have to be removed.
