Inserting/replacing the batteries
The game camera has two battery compartments to prolong the battery life. You will nd one battery com-
partment on the bottom of the wildlife camera (15) and a second one inside the mounting bracket (19).
The use of the battery compartment in the mounting bracket (19) is optional, i.e. the wildlife camera will also
work without these batteries, but will have only half the operating time.
Before you replace the batteries, the wildlife camera should be turned off using the sliding switch
(14) (switch position “OFF”).
a) Inserting the batteries in the wildlife camera
To insert the batteries into the battery compartment (15), rst loosen the small locking clip, rotate it by
about 45° to the right clockwise.
Then open the bottom ap (9).
There is a small arrow on the battery compartment cover (15). Press it until you can hear a click. The bat-
tery compartment cover can then be opened.
Insert the four batteries with the correct polarity. There are “+” and “-” markings on the metal contact strip
on the inside of the battery compartment cover (15). Insert two AA/Mignon batteries into the left and the
right openings of the battery compartment, so that the corresponding battery pole points outwards to the
metal contact strip.
Close the battery compartment cover (15) again, so that the latching sound can be heard and the battery
compartment cover is xed. The LED (6) will light up briey.
Close the bottom ap (9) and lock it with the locking clip.
b) Inserting the batteries in the mounting bracket
If the second battery compartment (19) is used in the mounting bracket, press the small retaining clip
towards the battery compartment cover, and tilt the battery compartment cover upwards by 90°.
Insert four AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity. Look into the battery compartment for an illustra-
tion of the correct polarity.
Push the battery compartment cover downwards once again and close the battery compartment, so that
the small retaining clip snaps in place.
Getting started and installation
Remove any clear plastic covers of IR light unit, PIR sensors and LCD.
Insert a memory card (SD or SDHC, max. 16GByte) into the corresponding slot (13), while paying attention
to the correct position. Check beforehand whether the write protection of the memory card is disabled.
Before you insert or replace a memory card, the wildlife camera should be turned off using the
sliding switch (14) (switch position “OFF”).
Switch the wildlife camera on (switch position “ON”).
The sliding switch (14) should be brought to the “TEST” position for a functional test or for pro-
gramming the OSD menu. Then the live video image appears on the LC display. Please follow
the section “Operation of the OSD menu”.
Close the bottom ap (9) and lock it with the locking clip.

Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to plus
and minus).
Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; there-
fore, use suitable safety gloves.
Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces
coming into contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store batteries/rechargeable
batteries in a suitable location.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into re. There is a risk
of explosion!
Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries that
are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries; do not mix normal and rechargeable batteries with dif-
ferent charges (e.g. full and half-full batteries). Always use (rechargeable) batteries of the same type/
manufacturer to operate the wildlife camera.
When using rechargeable batteries, expect a shorter running time due to the lower operating
voltage (normal battery = 1.5 V/cell, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V/cell).
Moreover, rechargeable batteries are more temperature sensitive than normal batteries. There-
fore, rechargeable batteries have a very short operating time at low temperatures.
If you want to use rechargeable batteries despite these limitations, we recommend the use of
NiMH batteries with low self-discharge.
Place the wildlife camera with the correct position on the mounting bracket. The two small pins in the
mounting bracket and the corresponding contact surfaces above the LC display must overlap.
Fix the wildlife camera on the mounting bracket using the two locking brackets (18) to the left and right of
the mounting bracket.
With the locking screw (20) on the back of the mounting bracket the wildlife camera can be secured.
The approach depends on where you want to install the
wildlife camera
. The included fabric strap can be
used to attach the camera to a tree, for instance. There is a thread on the underside of the
wildlife camera
for xation on tripods, etc.
Select the installation location carefully. Keep a safety distance from roads, hiking trails, etc., as
this can easily lead to theft or vandalism of the game camera.
The wildlife camera should be attached such that it lies between the sun and the area to be
monitored, i.e. the sun should be “behind” the wildlife camera.
Functional description of the PIR sensor
A PIR sensor does not detect the movement of an object, but heat change in the detection range (for
example, the movement of a warm animal on the cooler forest ground).
Therefore, recognition of an animal by a PIR sensor and successful recording of a photo or video depend
on several factors:
- Size and kind of animal
- Heat emitted by the animal
- Distance of the animal from the wildlife camera
- Ambient temperature
- Speed at which the animal moves
The two side PIR sensors have an aperture angle of 10° each; owing to the lateral arrangement in the
housing, they monitor a range of 100°.
The middle PIR sensor has an aperture angle of 35°.
If the side PIR sensors detect a heat change in the detection range, the wildlife camera is “activated”. Only
when the middle main PIR sensor detects a heat change, the wildlife camera starts photo / video recording.
Selecting a language for the OSD menu
When the slide switch is in the „test“ position and the video image is displayed (not in the OSD menu!), select
the desired language by repeatedly pressing the G key (a text information appears about the currently
active language). Then wait until the language displayed on the LCD display goes blank. If you now activate
the OSD menu (see next section), it appears in the language selected.
Operation of the OSD Menu
To open the OSD menu and make settings, proceed as follows:
Move the sliding switch (14) to the “TEST” position:
The LC display (16) shows the live image from the built-in camera (2) after a few seconds.
Press the “MENU” button to open and quit the OSD menu.
Press the “S” and “F” buttons to select the desired setting function.
The “►” or “G” buttons are used to change a setting.
For quick adjustment, hold the corresponding arrow button longer.
Press “OK” to conrm and save each setting made.
To save power, the display automatically switches off after about 2 minutes. Move the sliding
switch to the “OFF” position and back to the “TEST” position and open the OSD menu again.
The Following Setting Functions are Available:
Mode Here, you can set whether the wildlife camera stores only photos (“Camera”) or videos
(“Video”) when triggered by the PIR motion sensor. If you select “Cam + Video”, then
the wildlife camera rst takes a photo and then records a video.
Conrm the setting by pressing “OK”, otherwise it will not be accepted.
Format This function is used to format the memory card inserted. After conrming with the
“OK” button, a security query appears (“No” = Cancel, “Yes” = format memory card).
All data on the memory card will be lost during the formatting process.
Photo Size Select whether the photos are saved with a resolution of 5 or 12 mega pixels. The
latter requires more memory on the memory card; the writing process also requires
more time.
Video Size Use this function to set the resolution of the videos in which they are saved by the
wildlife camera. You can choose between 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720, 640 x 480 and
320 x 240 pixels.
Set Clock After selecting this function, and conrming with the “OK” button, the current date
and time are displayed. Press the ►” or G arrow button to select the position you
wish to change. Press the “S” or “F” button to set the value marked by a rectangular
margin, e.g. the hours of the time.
Conrm the settings as usual by pressing the “OK” button, otherwise they will not be
accepted.
Picture No. Here, you set the number of photos taken by the wildlife camera when the PIR motion
sensor is activated. 1, 2, or 3 photos can be set.
Video Length Here, you set the length of the video recording, when the PIR motion sensor is acti-
vated. An interval of 1 - 60 seconds can be set.
Interval Using this function, you can set how long the wildlife camera will pause after a record-
ing. An interval of 1 second to 60 minutes can be set.
Example: You set a time of 1 minute. If the wildlife camera was activated by the PIR
motion sensor and a photo or video was taken, it is reactivated only after expiry of this
time period.
This is to prevent continuous recording when an animal is in the detection range for a
longer time.
Sense Level Using this function you can choose between 3 different levels of PIR sensitivity:
Normal” = normal sensitivity, “High” = high sensitivity, “Low” = low sensitivity.
Note that high sensitivity may lead to false alarms. In contrast, only larger items (or
larger heat changes in the detection range) are detected at low sensitivity.
Time Stamp In order to know when a photo was saved, direct display of the date and time on the
photo (not for videos!) can be enabled here.
With display enabled, the current temperature reading is also stored in the photo (in
°C and °F), as there is a temperature sensor in the wildlife camera.
Timer1 If you choose On in this setting function and press the “OK” button, start time
(“Start: h-m”) and an end time (“Stop: h-m”) during which the wildlife camera should
be activated can be set.
When you set the start time at 8:00 p.m. and end time at 7:30 a.m., for instance, the
wildlife camera works only from 8:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. This not only prevents un-
wanted photos/videos (e.g. heat changes in the detection range due to sun’s radiation,
for instance), but also saves power and prolongs the service life of the wildlife camera.
Timer2 If preferred, a second interval during which the wildlife camera should be active can
be set here. Follow the description for “Timer1”.
Password Set After selecting this function and conrming with the “OK” button, you can enter a
password (4-digit number, e.g. 9876) to secure access to the OSD menu.
Keep this password in a safe place!
Serial NO If you use multiple game cameras, you can set a 4-digit number / letter combination
that is shown at the bottom of each photo (not for videos!).
Time Lapse This function enables automatically timed recording (setting On”). The recording is
done irrespective of an activation by the PIR motion sensor; the time selected in the
setting function “Interval” is used as the interval.
Example: You set a time of 60 minutes in the setting function “Interval”. The wildlife
camera will now save a photo or video every 60 minutes.
Side PIR With “On”, you can turn on both the side PIR motion sensors, with Off” you can turn
them off.
Switching off the wildlife camera prolongs its service life, but it can also lead to prob-
lems in recording photos or videos of animals.
„Recycle“ If set to „On“, the oldest les will be overwritten by new recordings when the memory
card becomes full. If set to Off“, this function will be deactivated (and it will not be
possible to free up space for further recordings when the memory card becomes full).
“Default Set” Pressing the “OK” button resets all settings to the factory settings.
Inserting/Removing the Memory Card
Loosen the small locking clip rst, then rotate it about 45° to the right clockwise.
Switch the wildlife camera off (switch position “OFF”).
Insert a memory card (SD or SDHC, max. 16GB) into the corresponding slot (13) until it clicks. Please
pay attention to the correct orientation. Check beforehand whether the write protection of the memory
card is disabled.
To remove the memory card, slightly push it into the slot, and then release the memory card. The latching
mechanism in the slot pushes the memory card out slightly so that it can be easily removed.
Close the bottom ap (9) and lock it with the locking clip.
Test mode
Move the sliding switch (14) to the “TEST” switch position.
You can test detection by the built-in PIR sensors in the test mode by moving through the detection range.
The LED (6) will ash briey when the PIR sensors detect a heat change in the detection range.

In test mode, press the “OK” button to switch between the live image and playback of the photos/videos
recorded on the memory card.
Press the “Sor “Fduring playback to view the photos or videos present on the memory card one by one.
A displayed image can be zoomed by pressing the G ” button (move with the Sor F” button).
Return to the full-screen display by pressing the “” button.
Press the “MENU” button to delete the currently displayed image (“DEL 1”) or all images
(“DEL All”). After conrming with the “OK” button, a security query appears (“No= Cancel,
Yes” = Delete).
If the live image is displayed, you can capture photos or record videos manually, as with a conventional
digital camera.
First, select the video mode by pressing the “S” button or the photo mode by pressing the “Fbutton. A
corresponding icon is shown on the top left of the display.
The “ ►” button is used as a record button; pressing this button in the photo mode saves an image, while
in the video mode, the video recording is started and stopped.
If the message “CARD PROTECTEDappears on the display, then the memory card is write-
protected by the write protection slider on the side.
To save power, the display automatically switches off after about 2 minutes in the test mode. Move the
sliding switch to the “OFF” position and back to the “TEST” position to reactivate the test mode.
Recording mode
Move the sliding switch (14) to the switch position “ON”.
The LED (6) ashes red for 10 seconds, then it is ready for operation with the settings made in the OSD
menu.
In recording mode, there is no display by the LED in order to not drive away any animal or draw
the attention of any hiker to the device.
Note that recording of photos or videos at night is in black and white due to the limitation of IR light (1). The
IR light (1) is automatically activated when the built-in brightness sensor (7) in the wildlife camera detects
low ambient light conditions.
Other functions
For stationary use, the wildlife camera can be operated via an external power supply.
You will need a wall plug transformer with a stabilised output voltage of 6 V/DC and an output current of 1 A.
The middle contact of the low-volt round plug must lead “+”, the external contact “-”. Suitable round plugs
should be supplied with the wall plug transformer.
If it is connected to the power supply, the batteries are disconnected.
Via the video output (11), images or videos recorded can be played; live image is also possible. To this end,
the wildlife camera should be in test mode (sliding switch (14) in the “TEST” position).
If you activate the “Time Stamp” feature, not only the date and time are saved in the image, but also the
current temperature value (in °C and °F), as there is a temperature sensor in the wildlife camera.
Via the USB port (12), the wildlife camera can be connected to a computer to read the data on the memory
card. To this end, the wildlife camera should be turned off beforehand (sliding switch (14) in the “OFF” posi-
tion). In general, it is recommended to remove the memory card from the wildlife camera to read it using a
conventional memory card reader. The transmission rate is usually higher here too.
A hole in the locking clip (4) can be used to lock the bottom ap with a lock.
The camera has a built-in microphone (the small opening on the right side above the lens). Therefore,
videos are recorded with sound. If you play videos on the camera, the sound is produced by a built-in
speaker.
Tips and notes
Switch off the wildlife camera before inserting or removing a memory card.
New SD memory cards are generally pre-formatted, so that re-formatting is not required. Should a memory
card inserted into the
wildlife camera
not be detected, check rst if there is an SD memory card (max.
2GByte) or an SDHC memory card (max. 16GByte). SDXC memory cards cannot be used.
Format the memory card using the corresponding feature of the wildlife camera. However, all data on the
memory card will be lost during the formatting process!
Make sure that the write protection on the memory card is disabled, otherwise photos/videos cannot be
saved.
We recommend the use of high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure lasting and safe use. Rechargeable
batteries have a lower output voltage, which leads to a shorter operating time; rechargeable batteries are
also more temperature sensitive.
If you wish to insert rechargeable batteries, then we recommend using NiMH-rechargeable batteries with
low self-discharge.
A movable lens may be seen inside the camera aperture. This serves as an IR lter and is controlled
automatically by the wildlife camera. A faint click may be heard when the lter is tilted to the front.
Cleaning
Clean the product only with a soft, clean, dry and lint-free cloth. If it is very dirty, use a cloth slightly moistened
with tap water.
Clean the lens very carefully; otherwise you will leave scratch marks.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause discolouration of the housing.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
b) Normal and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable
batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with the following symbols to indi-
cate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols of the relevant heavy metals
are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (marked on batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g.
under the rubbish bin symbol shown to the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the ofcial collection points of
your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
