Congratulations on purchasing Reloop Keyfadr. Thank you for placing your trust in our disc jockey technolo-
gy. Before operating this equipment we ask you to carefully study and observe all instructions.
Please remove the Reloop Keyfadr from its packaging. Check before initial operation to make sure that the device has not
been visibly damaged during transport. If you detect any damage to the included cables or the casing, do not operate the
device. Contact your specialised dealer.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION!
Any damage caused by the non-observance of this operation manual excludes any warranty claims. The
manufacturer is not liable for any damage to property or for personal injury caused by improper handling or
non-observance of the safety instructions.
- This device left the factory in perfect condition. To maintain this condition and to ensure a risk-free operation, the user must
observe the safety instructions and warnings contained in this operation manual.
- For reasons of safety and certication (CE) the unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the device is prohibited. Please
note that in the event of damage caused by the manual modication to this device any warranty claims are excluded.
- The inside of the device does not contain any parts which require maintenance, with the exception of wear parts that can be
exchanged from the outside. Qualied staff must carry out maintenance, otherwise the warranty does not apply!
- The fuse must be exchanged exclusively against fuses of the same class, with the same trigger features and nominal current rating.
- Ensure that the power will only be supplied after the device has been fully set up. Always plug in the mains plug last. Ensure that
the mains switch is in the “OFF” position when connecting the device to power.
- Only use cables that comply with regulations. Observe that all jacks and bushes are tightened and hooked up correctly. Refer
to your dealer, if you have any questions.
- Ensure that when setting up the product the mains cable is not squashed or damaged by sharp edges.
- Prevent the mains cable from coming into contact with other cables! Exercise great care when handling mains cables and
connections. Never touch these parts with wet hands!
- Connect the power cable to appropriate shock-proof outlets only. The only supply point to be used is a supply outlet in accor

dance with specications of the public supply network.
- Disconnect the device from the supply outlet when not in use and before cleaning! Be sure to hold the mains plug by the body.
Never pull the mains cord!
- Position the device on a horizontal and stable low-ame base.
- Avoid any concussions or violent impact when installing or operating the device.
- When selecting the location of installation, make sure that the device is not exposed to excessive heat, humidity, and dust. Be
sure that no cables lie around openly. You will endanger your own safety and that of others!
- Do not rest any containers lled with liquid that could easily spill onto the device or in its immediate vicinity. If, however, uids
should access the inside of the device, immediately disconnect the mains plug. Have the device checked by a qualied service
technician before re-use. Damage caused by uids inside the device is excluded from the warranty.
- Do not operate the device under extremely hot (in excess of 35° C) or extremely cold (below C) conditions. Keep the device
away from direct exposure to the sun and heat sources such as radiators, ovens, etc. (even during transport in a closed vehicle).
Never cover any cooling fan or vents. Always ensure sufcient ventilation.
- The device must not be operated after being taken from a cold environment into a warm environment. The condensation
caused hereby may destroy your device. Do not switch on or operate the device until it has reached ambient temperature!
- Controls and switches should never be treated with spray-on cleaning agents and lubricants. This device should only be cle

aned with a damp cloth. Never use solvents or cleaning uids with a petroleum base for cleaning.
- When relocating, the device should be transported in its original packaging.
- Devices supplied by voltage should not be left in the hands of children. Please exercise particular care when in the presence of children.
- At commercial facilities the regulations for the prevention of accidents as stipulated by the organization of professional asso

ciations must be observed.
- At schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help workshops the operation of the device must be monitored with responsibility
by trained staff.
- Keep this operation manual in a safe place for later reference in the event of questions or problems.

APPLICATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH REGULATIONS
- This device is a professional MIDI controller.
- If the device is used for any other purposes than those described in the operation manual, damage can be caused to the pro

duct, leading to exclusion of warranty rights. Moreover, any other application that does not comply with the specied purpose
harbours risks such as short circuit, re, electrical shock, etc.
- The serial number determined by the manufacturer must never be removed to uphold the warranty rights.
MAINTENANCE
- Check the technical safety of the device regularly for damage to the mains line or the casing, as well as for wearout of wear
parts such as rotary and sliding switches.
- If it is to be assumed that a safe operation is no longer feasible, then the device must be disconnected and secured against
accidental use. Always disconnect the mains plug from the outlet!
- It must be assumed that a safe operation is no longer feasible, if the device bears visible defects, if the device no longer func

tions, following longer storage under unfavourable conditions or after major transport stress.

1. STARTUP
- Connect Keyfadr via the included USB cable to your computer. In order to select one of the 2 available presets,
hold Channel 1 or 2 before connecting the device via USB -19- to your computer.
- The last selected preset will remain stored also after turning the device off again. Select Keyfadr as MIDI device in your software.
In order to make adjustments for MIDI clock, hold the ARP button -9- while turning the device on.
- Afterward the CH1 and CH8 On/Off buttons -3.2- will be lit. If you press CH. On/Off 1, ARP will be synchronized to an external
MIDI clock. If you press CH. On/Off 8, ARP will be synchronized to the internal MIDI clock (also see chapter 2.2.1). This setting is
global for all presets and will remain stored after turning the device on/off again.
2. OPERATION
2.1 Note input:
Use the Keyboard -1- to input notes. Via buttons -12- and -13- the keyboard can be transposed by an octave up or down. This way
a total of 9 octaves are playable. The corresponding octave button is lit until the original level C2-C4 is reached again.
When holding the Scene/Shift button -5- various settings regarding internal functions can be selected via the keyboard. Detailed
information can be found in the corresponding chapters.
2.2 Internal Functions:
Keyfadr disposes of numerous functions. Some of these can be activated via dedicated buttons. Others are (de-)activated by
holding the Scene/Shift button -5- and a corresponding key simultaneously. When an internal function is activated, this will be
displayed by the constantly lit reset button. By pressing the reset button, all internal functions will be deactivated.
2.2.1 Arpeggiator:
Activate the internal arpeggiator via the ARP button -9-. To hold tones without pressing a key, activate Sustain -10-. In order to
determine the tempo press the TAP button -8- rhythmically. To change the tones‘ rhythmical resolution, hold shift and select
an ARP time -16- via the keyboard. To change the tones‘ sequence, hold shift and select an ARP mode -15- via the keyboard.

2.2.2 Chord Mode
Press Scene/Shift -5- + Chord -14- to activate chord mode.
When chord mode is activated, a whole chord will be played
by pressing just one key. The chords are distributed on the key
-
board as follows:

2.2.3 Scale
Press Scene/Shift -5- + Scale -17- to activate scale mode. There are 4 different modes at your disposal: major, minor, penta, blues.
When scale mode is activated, only notes will be played that t the selected scale.
2.2.4 Transpose
To transpose the keyboard by a halftone up or down, press Scene/Shift -5- + Transpose Halftones -18-. Repeat this step in order
to transpose the keyboard by multiple halftones up or down.
2.2.5 Velocity
When the Velocity button -11- is pressed, all notes will be sent at maximum velocity (127), independent from their key-stroke. By
pressing the velocity button again, this function will be deactivated.
2.2.6 Sustain
By pressing and holding the Sustain button -10-, the sustain MIDI command will be sent. Plug-ins that support this format will now
let the played tone fade out slowly (similar to a sustain pedal of a piano).
2.2.7 Reset
By pressing the Reset button -7-, all functions described under 2.2.2 - 2.2.6 will be deactivated.

The mix section is based on the Ableton channel strip. The following functions are already assigned:
3.1 Fader:
Via the fader you can adjust volume for the respective channel.
3.2 Channel Rec:
Enables the respective channel for recording.
SHIFT -5- + Channel 1 Rec. sets a marker
SHIFT -5- + Channel 2 Rec. jumps to the previous marker
SHIFT -5- + Channel 3 Rec. jumps to the next marker
SHIFT -5- + Channel 4 Rec. activates the global LOOP
SHIFT -5- + Channel 5 Rec. DAW Tap
SHIFT -5- + Channel 6 Rec. (de-)activates the metronome
SHIFT -5- + Channel 7 Rec. Nudge-
SHIFT -5- + Channel 8 Rec. Nudge+
3.3 Channel Solo:
Switches the respective channel to solo. SHIFT -5- + Channel Solo stops the track/scene‘s clip.
3.4 Channel On/Off:
Activates/deactivates a channel. SHIFT -5- + Channel On/Off activates a track/scene‘s clip.
3.5 Send 1:
Regulates the respective send value for return 1.
3.6 Send 2:
Regulates the respective send value for return 2.
3.7 PAN:
Regulates the PAN value for the respective channel.
3.8 Play:
Starts DAW playback. SHIFT -5- + Play starts the current scene.
3.9 Stop:
Stops DAW playback/recording. SHIFT -5- + Stop stops all clips.
3.10 REC:
Activates DAW recording. SHIFT -5- + Rec (de-)activates the overdub function.
3.11 Shift/Scene:
Via Shift/Scene -5- further 8 tracks will be assigned automatically.
