Setting the delay timer
3 Using the DELAY TIMER button you can delay
the start of a programme by 1 hour (1h') to a
maximum of 24 hours (24h).
1. Select the programme.
2. Press the DELAY TIMER button repeatedly until the
multi-display shows the desired time delay, for ex-
ample, 12h, if the programme is to start in
12 hours.
3 If the display is showing 24h and you press the
button again, the delay time will be cancelled.
The length of the programme that has been
set will appear.
3. To activate the delay timer, press the START/
PAUSE button. The time remaining to the start of
the programme is continuously displayed
(e. g., 12h, 11h, 10h,... 1h).
Starting a programme
1. Check that the tap is turned on.
2. Press the START/PAUSE button. The programme
is started or it starts after the time delay set has
elapsed.
3 If after pressing the START/PAUSE button E40
flashes in the multi-display, the door has not
been correctly shut. Push the door firmly
closed and press the START/PAUSE button
again.
Programme progress
• The programme progress display shows the pro-
gramme step that is currently being carried out.
• The multi-display shows the estimated time re-
maining (in hours and minutes) until the end of the
programme.
3 The remaining programme time may increase
or briefly remain constant during the wash
programme as the programme adjusts to vari-
ous conditions while washing (e. g. type of
washing, amount of washing, recognising out-
of-balance when spinning, special rinse cycle,
etc.).
Interrupting/changing a
programme
Interrupting a programme
A washing programme can be interrupted at any
time by pressing the START/PAUSE button and then
re-started by pressing the START/PAUSE button
again.
To stop the washing machine before the programme
has ended:
1.Press the START/PAUSE button.
2.Turn the programme knob to OFF.
Important: Be careful if there is water in the appli-
ance! If necessary, perform a DRAIN operation.
3.After approx. 3 minutes the door can be opened.
Changing a programme
As long as the programme has not yet been started,
the programme selection can still be changed.
If the programme has already been started.
1.Press the START/PAUSE button.
2.Turn the programme knob to OFF.
3.Set a new programme.

Removing the washing
When the programme has finished, END will light up
on the programme progress display.
1.Open the door and remove the washing.
2.Turn the programme knob to OFF.
3.When you have finished washing, pull out the de-
tergent drawer a little to let it to dry out. Keep the
door very slightly open so that the washing ma-
chine can air.
If SOAK or RINSE HOLD was selected:
After SOAK or after RINSE HOLD, END lights up on
the programme progress display and the START/
PAUSE indicator flashes.
The water from the final rinse or the soaking water
has to be drained before the door can be opened:
• Either press the START/PAUSE button;
– With SOAK: The soaking water is drained
– With RINSE HOLD: The water from the rinse is
drained and the washing is spun at the speed
that is normal for the programme that has just
run.
Note: After pressing the START/PAUSE button
again, the speed can also still be changed during
the spin.
• or turn the programme knob to OFF, then to DRAIN
and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is
drained without spinning),
• or turn the programme knob to OFF and then to
SPIN. Change the speed, if necessary, and press
the START/PAUSE button (the washing is drained
and spun).
