1 Safety notes
This appliance corresponds to accepted
technological standards with regards to
safety and to the German Appliance Safety
Law
. As manufacturers, we nevertheless
regard it as our duty to familiarise custo
-
mers with the following safety considerati-
ons.
General safety
The hair drier may be connected only to
a power socket carrying a voltage and
frequency matching the information on
the model rating plate!
Never try to remove the plug from the
socket by pulling on the lead!
The installation of a residual current cir-
cuit breaker (RCD) with a rated trigger
current of less than 30 mA in the dome
-
stic power supply provides additional
protection. Seek advice from a qualified
electrician.
Periodically check the mains lead for
damage!
Repairs to this appliance may only be
carried out by qualified service engi
-
neers. Considerable danger may result
from improper repairs. If repairs
become necessary, please contact the
Customer Care Department or your
authorised dealer
.
Caution! Do not use this
hair drier near baths, hand
basins or other water-con-
taining vessels!
There is a residual risk even when the
hair drier is switched off. Remove the
hair drier plug from the power socket.
after use and before cleaning!
Child safety
These instructions must be observed and
explained to children.
Children should not use the hair drier
unsupervised.
Points to observe when operating
the hair drier.
The hair drier must not be used wet or
with wet hands.
Do not direct any spray can or water
mister into the hair drier.
For safety reasons, switch the drier off
whenever you put it down.
The air outlet grille becomes hot during
operation. This is normal, and results
from the proper function of the
appliance!
The air intakes and outlets must never be
covered.
Clean the air intake grille periodically to
remove any blockages. Do not allow hair
near the air intake.
If the air flow is blocked while the hair
drier is operating (e.g. by dirt or fluff),
the integral overheat cut-out automati
-
cally switches the appliance off. Once it
has cooled down (after a few minutes) it
automatically switches back on.
The power lead must not come into con-
tact with the air outlet during operation.
The manufacturer can accept no liabi-
lity for any loss or damage arising from
improper use of the appliance.
Disposal
2 Packaging material
The packaging materials are environ-
mentally friendly and can be recycled.
The plastic components are identified
by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc.
Please dispose of the packaging materi
-
als in the appropriate container at the
community waste disposal facilities.
2 Old appliance
The symbol W on the product or
on its packaging indicates that this
product may not be treated as house
-
hold waste. Instead it shall be handed
over to the applicable collection point
for the recycling of electrical and elec
-
tronic equipment. By ensuring this
product is disposed of correctly, you
will help prevent potential negative
consequences for the environment
and human health, which could other
-
wise be caused by inappropriate waste
handling of this product. For more
detailed information about recycling
of this product, please contact your
local city office, your household waste
disposal service or the shop where you
purchased the product.
If the hair drier falls into water, imme-
diately remove the plug from the
mains socket. Do not, under any cir-
cumstances, reach into the water!
Have the appliance checked by an
electrician!
Operating instructions
FOEN® TITAN 1800,
FOEN® PROFESSION 1800
These models have two rocker switches with
the following switch positions:
Bottom switch (Pos. 6):
0 = OFF
1 = medium airflow
2 = high airflow
Top switch (Pos. 5):
•= low temperature
• • = medium temperature
• • • = high temperature
FOEN® 1600, FOEN® 1420,
FOEN® 1410
These models have one rocker switch with
the following switch positions:
Switch (Pos. 6):
0 = OFF
1 = medium airflow
2 = high airflow
Push-on nozzle (Pos. 1)
The push-on nozzle can be fitted as requi-
red. It can be completely rotated, and is
designed to allow a concentrated flow of
air to dry small areas of the hair.
Hanger (Pos. 2)
The integral hanger allows space-saving
stowage of the hair drier, ready for use.
COOL button (Pos. 4)
FOEN® TITAN 1800, FOEN® PRO-
FESSION 1800, FOEN® 1600
To help you keep your hair as you have sty-
led it, it is advisable to finish drying your
hair with cool air.
0 Press the COOL button.
Removable air intake grille (Pos. 3)
FOEN® TITAN 1800, FOEN® PRO-
FESSION 1800, FOEN® 1600
0 To remove the air intake grille for cle-
aning, gently turn anti-clockwise and
pull.
0 Remove the filter insert from the air
intake grille, and clean with a brush.
0 Replace the filter insert in the air
intake grille, and turn clockwise to
lock in place on the hair drier.
The filter insert must NEVER be repla-
ced in a wet condition.
3 Regular cleaning makes a significant
contribution to lengthening the life of
the hair drier.
