1. LAMP POWER SUPPLY UPGRADE

1.1 Problem description

Lamp lifetime

The iQ 200 series are specified with a lamp lifetime of 6000 hours. Due to an LPS issue (ac-

knowledged by Philips, the s upplier of the LPS), this lifetime is however not always reached.

Lamp arc distance in combination with unadapted LPS o utput voltage range may s ometimes

bring the lifetime to about half the expected time.

1.2 Solution

A new LPS has been made available as an upgrade for all the iQ G/R 200 projectors.

The new lamp driver has an adapted drive voltage range and can thus ensure power (volt-

age) supply to the lamp during the whole lifetime of the lamp (6000 hours) this way guar-

anteeing the specified 6000 hours of operation.
