Set up Backgrounds — Select a Destination Control Tab, select a
background and the Background Properties Dialog. Select a type, and
set all background properties. Click Save, repeat for the other background.
Set up DSK — Select a Destination Control Tab, select the DSK and
select the DSK Properties Dialog. Select a type, and set all DSK
properties. Click Save. If required, adjust DSK crop parameters.
Reset Software — Reset the ECU and all Processors to their default
values. Click Reset to display the Reset Window. Click All Devices,
click Factory Defaults, and click Reset. When complete, click Connect.

Install Encore GC Software — For first time installations, use the Encore GC CD-ROM
to install software. For upgrades, download the Encore GC installer, un-install the
previous version, run the new installer. Refer to Appendix C, “Upgrading Software.”

Launch the Application — Launch the Encore GC application and
connect to the ECU. On the System Tab, if any lines are colored pink, a
software update is required.

Update Software — In the ECU section of the System Tab, if the ECU
line is colored pink, update ECU software. If Checksum Mismatch
appears in the “Issues” column, update Processor software.

ID Setup and Power Up — Ensure that IDs are set for all VP, VPx and ScreenPRO-II
video processors. Power up all gear. If a ScreenPRO-II is used as a destination, enable
remote control. Power up the ECU.
Set up Routers and DAs — Use the Routers Tab to configure all
routers and DAs. Click Apply for each. When complete, check router
status on System Tab, and test communications if required.
Patch Outputs — Use the Output Patch Tab to patch router outputs
to Processor inputs. When complete, click ECU > Save Configuration.

Set up Destinations — Use the Destination Setup Tab to assign
Processors, and to configure destination’s name, type, output
settings, EDID, widescreen and router modes (if applicable). Click Apply All.

Patch Sources — Use the Sources Tab to set up each source’s name,
connection type, router and the desired source button on the
Destination Control Tab. When complete, click ECU > Save Configuration.

Verify Patching — Select a Destination Control Tab. Click View >
Preview. Click layer 1A on Preview, and switch sources in the Source/
Preset Section. Verify sources on your preview monitor. Repeat for other layers.

Save System Configuration — In the Menu Bar, Click ECU > Save Configuration to
save the current configuration in the ECU.

Destination Setup
System setup is comprised of 15 sequences, each of which includes many
steps. For error-free installation, always refer to the associated section in
Chapter 6 of the User’s Guide. The circled sequence numbers are identical.
Before you begin, ensure that your system is properly cabled. Refer to
Chapter 3, “Hardware Installation” for details.

Set up Projectors — Select a destination on the Destination Setup
Tab. Enable the Raster Box and burst pattern. At the projector,
adjust for minimum noise, adjust pixel clock for image position. Use gray scale pattern to
adjust balance, brightness, contrast. If widescreen, use adjustments in the Widescreen
Settings Section to fine tune parameters. Repeat for all destinations.
Destination Setup
Set up Inputs — Select a Destination Control Tab, select a layer, source,
and the Input Properties Dialog. Enable Source Preview, and set up all
input properties. Click Save, and repeat for all sources.
