The following is a list of items shipped in your rack installation kit. If any items are
missing or damaged, contact your dealer or vendor.

2 2U and 3U L –Shape Installation Steps
Applicable Models: Applicable to the present Simbolo and EPICa 2U and 3U various
models.
Types of Applicable Cabinets:
1. Only suitable to cabinets with depth 900mm ~ 1100mm
2. Only suitable to sheet metal brace type cabinet (Figure 1) and not suitable
for aluminum brace push type cabinet (Figure 2).

3 2U and 3U L –Shape Installation Steps
Step 1:
Loosen the screws M5×0.8 (2 screws on each side; total 4 screws) to
facilitate the sliding of L-Shape.

Step 2:
Transfer the L-Shape in the cabinet’s fixed column. Adjust the L-Shape’s length, so
that the L-Shape position and the cabinet’s column holes are aligned. With the
column holes of cabinet aligned with the L-Shape, fix the L-Shape into the column
holes using M5×0.8 L = 14mm screws (4 screws on one side; total 8 screws on two
sides, including front and rear) according to the machine (subsystem) type shown
in the table below (Table 1).

Note:
1. Please verify the machine (subsystem) type and follow the column holes’
position of installing screws to avoid the machine obstructing the column
holes in front side.
2. In the rear side, all models follow the same position of fixing the screws in
the column holes. The M5 Cabinet Cage Nuts can be used to lock the M5
x 0.8L=14mm screws in place.
Step 3:
To lock the L-Shape, tighten the screws M5×0.8 (2 screws on each side; total
4 screws) that were loosened in Step 1. This will complete the installation of
L-Shape.

Step 4:
Before inserting the machine on the cabinet, remove first the disk trays to lighten
the weight of the machine.
Note: All machine models are installed in the L-Shape in the same way. The
following example is for 3U EPICa model.

Step 5:
Place the machine in the horizontal support surface of the L-Shape and push into
the cabinet.

Step 6:
Tighten the screw M5 * 0.8 L= 25mm (one screw in each side; total two
screws) to fix the machine into the cabinet.
Note: For the position of each screw and the number of screws used for the
various machine models, please refer to the table below (Table 2).
Step 7:
Insert the disk trays into the machine to complete the installation.
