6. Install self-tapping screw supplied in kit into the
side deck hole and tongue and partially tighten
the screw (Fig. 3).
7. Using four (4) screws supplied in kit, fasten
discharge tunnel to deck (Fig. 3). Tighten all five
(5) screws to secure discharge tunnel to deck.
8. Open and close door to ensure that it moves
freely.
Operation
Using Side Discharge Chute
1. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to
stop.
2. Ensure discharge door handle is fully forward
(door closed) (Fig. 4).
POTENTIAL HAZARD
• Thrown objects may result if discharge
door does not close completely.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
• Thrown objects can cause serious personal
injury or death.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
• If discharge door cannot be closed because
grass clippings clog discharge area, stop
engine and gently move discharge door
handle back and forth until door can be
closed completely. If door still cannot be
closed, remove obstruction with a stick, not
your hand.
3. INSTALLING CHUTE—Place opening in
discharge chute over discharge tunnel opening
and position as shown in Figure 4. Ensure chute
stop is in front of handle bracket.

4. Pull discharge door handle backward until
handle latch locks in chute notch (Fig. 5).
Discharge door in mower housing is now open.
Latch should seat firmly in chute notch.
