Quick Reference Guide
ONLY connect this product to a grounded and protected circuit.
DISCONNECT from power before cleaning or replacing the fuse.
DO NOT look at the light source when the product is on.
Make sure the power cord is not crimped or damaged.
Never disconnect this product from power by pulling on the cord.
When mounting this product overhead, ALWAYS use a safety cable.
DO NOT allow flammable materials close to the product when it is operating.
DO NOT touch the product’s housing when it is on because it will be hot.
The voltage of the outlet to which you are connecting this product must be within the range stated on the
decal or rear panel of the product.
This product is for indoor use only! (IP20) To prevent risk of fire or shock, do not expose this product to rain
or moisture.
Always mount this product in a location with adequate ventilation, at least 20 in (50 cm) from adjacent
surfaces.
Be sure that no ventilation slots on the unit’s housing are blocked.
Never connect this product to a dimmer or rheostat.
Replace the fuse with the same type and rating.
Never carry the product by the power cord. Use only the hanging bracket or handle to carry this product.
The maximum ambient temperature is 104 °F (40 °C). Do not operate this product at higher temperatures.
In the event of a serious operating problem, stop using immediately.
DO NOT open this product. It contains no user-serviceable parts.
To eliminate unnecessary wear and improve its lifespan, during periods of non-use completely disconnect
the product from power via breaker or by unplugging it.

AC Power
This product has an auto-ranging power supply that can work with an input voltage range of 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
Power Linking
The maximum output current from the RDMX Splitter 8 is 15A. See the User Manual or the specification sticker on the
product for more details.
AC Plug
DMX Linking
The RDMX Splitter 8 will work with a DMX controller using a 5-pin DMX serial connection. A DMX Primer is available from
www.chauvetprofessional.com.
Mounting
Before mounting this product, read the Safety Notes. Use at least one mounting point per product. Make sure the
mounting clamps are capable of supporting the weight of the product. For our Chauvet line of mounting clamps, go to

Panel Item Function
<POWER> indicator Illuminates when power has been applied to the product
Input <A> DMX Input port A. Indicator light will illuminate when input signal is being received.
Input <B> DMX Input port B. Indicator light will illuminate when input signal is being received.
Mode button
Selects 1x8 Mode or 2x4 Mode:
1x8 Mode sends the DMX signal received from input port A to all 8 signal
output ports.
2x4 Mode sends the DMX signal received from input port A into signal
output ports 1 to 4 and from port B into signal output ports 5 to 8.
Signal output <1> to <8>
DMX Output ports 1 to 8. Indicator lights on each port will illuminate when a signal
is being output through the port.
To use the RDMX Splitter 8 as a switch between 2 different input sources, plug the DMX Input lines
into Signal Output Ports 5 to 8. Use the Mode button to switch between sources.
