IMPORTANT UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy,
flat surface.
2.
Remove the instruction book and any
other literature.
3.
Turn the box so that the back side
of
the coffeemaker
is
down and slide the
coffeemaker from the box.
4. After the coffeemaker has been
removed, place the box out
of
the way
and remove the packing materials.
5.
Grasp the carafe by its handle, remove
it from the heating plate, and remove
the polybag.
6. Remove the polybag covering

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove
all
packaging materials, labels
and/or stickers from your coffeemaker
Clean your coffeemaker thoroughly before
using for the first time to clear any internal
residue.
Fill
water tank to the maximum
water level mark.
Run
a full brewing cycle
with water only, no coffee. Repeat this
procedure at least once.

Press the lid release button and open the
lid.
Insert the filter basket. Make sure it locks
into place.
Place the grinder basket into the filter
basket, positioning it so it rests securely on
the drive shaft.
CAUTION: The blades inside the grinder
basket are very sharp!
Place the grinder basket lid on the grinder
basket. Close the coffeemaker cover.

OPERATING NOTICE
Clogging and backing up
of
water and/
or
coffee
in
the filter basket can occur under
any or a combination
of
any
of
the following
conditions: The use
of
too finely ground
coffee, using
two
or
more paper filters, using
the gold-tone filter
in
conjunction
with a paper filter or not properly cleaning
coffee grounds from the gold-tone filter,
or
allowing coffee grounds to spill over
the filter.
Ca
ution: Never open the filter basket during
the brewing cycle, even if no water
is
draining from the filter basket, because
extremely hot water/coffee can spill out from
the filter basket and cause injury. If water/
coffee is not draining from the filter basket
during the brewing cycle, unplug the unit and
wait 1 0 minutes before opening and
checking the filter basket.
BREWING
Add the desired amount
of
coffee beans to
the grinder basket. For each cup
of
coffee
add one tablespoon
of
beans - add more
or
less according
to
taste (approx. 2o
z.).
HINT: If using pre-ground coffee, place the
desired amount into the grinder basket and
turn grinding function off (see pg.
8).
Replace the grinder basket lid securely to
ensure safety while grinding coffee beans.
Do
not attempt
to
operate this appliance
until the lid's white tab comes to rest on
the safety button.
Close the coffeemaker cover. Do not force
the lid if it cannot be closed easily; this
might be a sign that the grinder basket
and/or
filter basket have not been correctly
inserted.
Fill the carafe with the desired
amount
of
water and pour into the water tank. Check
the water level indicator inside the water
tank
to
ensure you
do
not overfill the unit.
Close the tank cover and place the carafe
on
the
coffeemaker.
Insert the
power
plug into a
power
outlet.
Select the desired brewing
mode
and pro-
gram and start the brewing process
