Repeating distances (fig. A & E)
The distance repeat function allows for multiple measurement
of the distance measured initially.
◆ Measure the first distance.
◆ Press key (9). The repeat distance indicator (25) will light up.
◆ Measure the following distance.
– When the target distance point is approached at 7.5 cm
(3"), a single arrow (26) lights up from the direction the
tool is approaching, and the buzzer sounds, producing
long beeps.
– When the target distance point is approached at 2.5 cm
(1"), a double arrow (26) lights up from the direction the
tool is approaching, and the buzzer sounds, producing
short beeps.
– When the target distance point is reached, the double
arrows (26) from both directions light up, and the buzzer
sounds continuously for a few seconds.
◆ Repeat the previous instructions as many times as
required for the remaining distances.
◆ To reset the tool without losing the stored information,
press key (11) briefly. Wait for the ready-for-use indicator
(24) to light up before continuing.
Equal spacing (fig. A & E)
The equal spacing function allows for an equal layout in
several sections of the distance measured initially.
◆ Measure the distance.
◆ Press key (10). The equal spacing indicator (27) will light up.
◆ Press key (10) as many times as required, depending on
the number of sections. This number will appear on the
LCD screen. The max number of sections that can be set
is 9.
◆ Measure the first section distance.
– When the target distance point is approached at 7.5 cm
(3"), a single arrow (26) lights up from the direction the
tool is approaching, and the buzzer sounds, producing
long beeps.
– When the target distance point is approached at 2.5 cm
(1"), a double arrow (26) lights up from the direction the
tool is approaching, and the buzzer sounds, producing
short beeps.
– When the target distance point is reached, the double
arrows (26) from both directions light up, and the buzzer
sounds continuously for a few seconds.
◆ Repeat the previous instructions as many times as

Low battery indicator (fig. E)
The LCD screen will display a low battery symbol (28) when
the battery is nearly empty.
◆ Replace the battery on time.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your Black & Decker product
needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not
dispose of it with household waste. Make this product
available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging
allows materials to be recycled and used again. Re-
use of recycled materials helps prevent
environmental pollution and reduces the demand for
raw materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of
electrical products from the household, at municipal waste
sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
Black & Decker provides a facility for the collection and
recycling of Black & Decker products once they have reached
the end of their working life. To take advantage of this service
please return your product to any authorised repair agent who
will collect them on our behalf.

Battery
At the end of their useful life, discard batteries with
due care for our environment.
◆ Remove the battery as described above.
◆ Place the battery in a suitable packaging to ensure that
the terminals cannot be short-circuited.
◆ Take the battery to a local recycling station.
