-It's
everything from a no-nonsense

to
a luxuriously
appointed

And
for
1999,
Chevy Blazer
is
also a touch
more
refined, with a
new
up-level
model
and a variety
of
new
comfort
and
convenience features,
"Today's
sport
utility owners are not only
buying
the performance and
added
security that
comes with
buying
a truck, they're buying image," said
Russ
Clark, Blazer brand manager.
"Whether they're driving off-road,
or
negotiating a
crowded
freeway, they want to
know
that
Blazer
can
provide
both
ruggedness and refinement
in
one
package."
Chevy Blazer's refinements
for
'99 start with
new
interior features,
such
as
an
eight-way
power
driver
seat with
memory
and
power
passenger
seat (standard on
LT

Blazer also
adds
a standard flash-lo-pass feature (allows driver to
flash
high-beam head-
lamps
as
a passing signal) and liftglass-ajar warning telltale light; content theft alarm on vehicles
with Remote Keyless Entry; and available
power
heated exterior mirrors.
Blazer rounds
out
its
"what's new list" with an
optional
Autotrac transfer case (4x4
models
only).
This
system provides
100
percent rear-wheel
drive
until road conditions warrant a change.

MODEL
The
TrailBlazer
is
an upscale Four-Door version
aimed
at buyers
who
crave the ultimate
in
style and
comfort
in
a sport utility,
Clark said that TrailBlazer capitalizes on the fact that four-door buyers
lend
to
be
different
lhan
two-door
buyers
in
the
way
they use their Blazers.
-MORE-

"Two

buyers are
more
likely
to
go
off-road," said Clark. "That's
why
e created the
Two-Door

a true oft-road machine. Four-door buyers want
the
attributes 0 a truck, with a
very
refined, distinctive
appearance
...
just like TrailBlazer."
TrailBlazer's special features include:

According
to
Clark, the name "TrailBlazer"
is
appropriate
for
the truck that c rved a
new
trail
when
it was introduced back
in
1982.
"We
created a
new
market
when
we
introduced the

TrailBlazer ofters a

Clark said that TrailBlazer represents a significant value
when
compared
ith similar
competitive
offerings currently available.
"I
can
tell you that the TrailBlazer Package will represent a great value," said Clark.
"Our

Some things
to
keep
in
mind
about
antilock
brakes:
-
ABS
helps maintain steering control during severe
braking situations
by
reducing wheellockup on
mostsuppery surfaces.
AU
the driver
has
to
do
is
maintain pressure on the brake pedaland steer
the vehicle.
-
ABS
adjusts brake pressure
by
modulating the
brakes several times
per
second, a rate even most
skilled professional drivers cannot
attain
physicauy.
- The system modulatesthe brake-tine pressure at the
wheels. Drivers should not
"pump"
the brakes
in
emergency braking situations.
Rather.
they should
maintain constant pressure on
the
brake
pedal
aUow-
ing
the system to work effedively.
