vices specified in these instructions for use. Only use this

has no parts which can be serviced by the user.

This product has been tested and
found to comply with the limits for a Class B digi-
tal device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a resi-
dential installation. This product generates, uses
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if
not installed and used in accordance with the in-
structions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will
not occur in a particular installation. If this product
causes harmful interference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the
product off and on, the user is encouraged to try
and correct the interference by one or more of
the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the product
and receiver.
Connect the product into an outlet on a circuit
different from that to which the receiver is con-
nected.

Always unfold the crank all the way.
Please observe the following points to extend the
the life of the battery and mechanical parts:
Do not crank longer than 5 minutes while the
product is charging. The product will then be in
normal operating mode.
If the light weakens and the radio does not
work, the battery has not been charged

sufficiently. In this case, turn off the light and the
radio and turn the crank.
Crank as steady as possible (charging works
best at 2
–3 rotations per second). Avoid
cranking too fast or abruptly changing direc-
tions. Winding too slow may affect the genera-
tor‘s charging efficiency, winding too quickly
could damage the mechanism or the crank.
If the product is working perfectly, stop crank-
ing after 15 minutes.
When the product is not being used, crank at
least once a month for a minimum of one minute
to extend the life of the battery. Turn the product
off with the ON / OFF switch if it will not be used
for a long time.
Do not expose the product to extreme tempera-
tures and protect it from shock. Do not drop the
product.
Do not clean the product with corrosive or other
harsh cleaning agents and do not use any rough
materials.
Turn the light and radio off while charging to im-
prove the generator performance. The ON / OFF
switch must be in the ON position.

normal.

rechargeable batteries
Failure to observe the following warnings
may result in fatal or serious injuries.
RISK OF ACCIDENT AND DAN-
GER TO LIFE FOR INFANTS AND
CHILDREN! Rechargeable batteries
are not intended for children. Do not leave the
batteries lying around. They could be swallowed
by children or pets. If accidentally swallowed seek
immediate medical attention.
CAUTION!
EXPLOSION HAZARD! Use only
rechargeable batteries of the recom-
mended type. Other rechargeable or disposable
batteries could explode during charging.
FIRE HAZARD! Never short-circuit re-
chargeable batteries. The rechargeable

batteries may otherwise overheat, become a fire
hazard or explode.
EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never
throw rechargeable batteries into fire
or water.
Failure to observe the following warnings
may result in personal injury or property
damage.
WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! If
they come into contact with skin, leaked
or damaged rechargeable batteries
could cause chemical burns; you should therefore
wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such
an event occurs.
Expired or drained rechargeable batteries may
leak chemicals which will damage the product.
Therefore remove the rechargeable battery if the
product will not be used for a long period.
Always use the correct size and recommended type
of rechargeable batteries (see “Technical Data“).

Charging mobile devices
ATTENTION! RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Note: Please consult the product’s instructions for use
for the correct operating voltage of your device before
charging. There is no warranty for damages due to
using the incorrect operating voltage.
Note: The charging process described below reaches
an output voltage / direct current (DC output) of 5 V.
Verify the supply voltage of your mobile device matches
this voltage before use.

mobile device will be charged using the energy
generated.
Note: When charging by crank

some time before the battery voltage is high
enough for mobile devices; this varies by the
product‘s battery power.
Using the radio

scan for a station during playback. The radio will
automatically scan for stations and will pause when
a station with an adequately strong signal is found.
Repeat the above process to scan for another sta-
tion. Use the SCAN + button

stations (frequency range of 87.5 MHz to 108
MHz) or use the SCAN– button

to scan down
for stations (108 MHz to 87.5 MHz).
To adjust the volume while playing the radio, push
the VOL + button

again to turn the radio off.
Note: Please adjust the volume as appropriate
(please be considerate of your immediate sur-
roundings).
Note: If possible, avoid high buildings, basements,
etc. These places may interfere with the radio re-
ception. If possible, keep the product away from in-
duction ovens, fluorescent lights, engines or other
electric devices, since these may affect reception.
Note: If the internal battery charge is too low,
the sound coming from the radio may become
distorted or it may be barely audible.
