NORME DI SICUREZZA GENERALI
I SACCHI DI PLASTICA NON SONO DEI GIOCATTOLI
ATTENZIONE! Pericolo di soffocamento. I sacchi di plastica pre-
senti nell’imballaggio possono provocare soffocamento se infilati
sul capo e devono essere tenuti lontani dai bambini; se non più
riutilizzabili devono essere tagliati e smaltiti nei rifiuti.
La macchina può causare gravi lesioni. Leggete attentamente le istru-
zioni per eseguire correttamente lo spostamento, la messa in servizio,
la manutenzione, l’avviamento e l’arresto della macchina. Prendete
familiarità con tutti i comandi ed il corretto uso della macchina.
1) L’uso della macchina è vietato a bambini e persone non perfetta-
mente a conoscenza delle istruzioni d’uso contenute nel presente
manuale. Leggi e regolamenti locali possono prevedere un’età
minima per l’uso della macchina.
2) Ricordate sempre che nell’area di lavoro l’operatore è responsabile
verso terzi e le loro proprietà per ogni incidente o danni causati
dall’uso della macchina.
3) Lavorate solo durante le ore di buona luminosità o con una illumi-
nazione artificiale corrispondente.
4) Controllate sempre l’efficienza e l’integrità della macchina; se in
cattivo stato, la macchina può causare pericolo per chi la usa.
5) Prima di iniziare a usare la macchina, assicuratevi che i fori di
ventilazione del motore siano liberi e puliteli quando necessario.
6) Assicuratevi sempre che tutte le protezioni siano saldamente
montate e non togliete mai nessun componente della macchina. Non
modificate in alcun modo la configurazione originale della macchina.
7) Travasate con cura il carburante perché è estremamente infiamma-
bile. Non aggiungete mai carburante nel serbatoio quando il motore
è acceso o caldo. Mantenetevi lontani da fonti di calore durante il
rifornimento e non fumate. Se durante il rifornimento versate del
carburante o tracima dal serbatoio del carburante, asciugate con
uno straccio prima di avviare il motore. Non inalare le esalazioni
della benzina perché sono tossiche. Dopo il rifornimento verificate
la chiusura del tappo.
8) Non usate carburanti o liquidi infiammabili per la pulizia della
macchina.
9) Liberate il motore e la marmitta di scarico da ramoscelli, foglie
o da eccesso di carburante e lubrificante al fine di ridurre i rischi
di incendio.
10) Verificate periodicamente il fissaggio delle viti.
11) Non distraetevi e controllate sempre quello che state facendo.
Usate il buon senso. Non usate mai la macchina quando siete
stanchi, sotto l’effetto di farmaci, alcol, o sostanze che possano
alterare i riflessi o la capacità di concentrazione.
12) Limitatevi ad usare la macchina per un periodo non superiore a
30-40 minuti continuativi ed effettuate pause di almeno 10-20 minuti.
Non superate le due ore di lavoro per ogni giornata.
13) Non avviate la macchina in luoghi chiusi o poco ventilati ed in pre-
senza di liquidi, polveri, gas ed altri elementi infiammabili e/o esplosivi.
14) Allontanate dal vostro raggio di lavoro cose persone ed animali
e non lasciate che queste si avvicinino mentre state lavorando.
15) Tenete lontani i bambini dall’area di lavoro.
16) Impedite che altre persone tocchino la macchina.

17) Non utilizzate la macchina se ha il dispositivo di taglio danneggiato o
fortemente usurato.
18) Non tentate di riparare la macchina; nel caso si verificassero
rotture o usure eccessive di parti di essa fatela controllare dal
personale qualificato dei centri di assistenza autorizzati.
19) Indossate sempre abiti aderenti, ma che non Vi impediscano il
libero movimento e calzature con suole anti scivolo.
20) Durante il lavoro indossare sempre occhiali protettivi, guanti
protettivi adeguati e cuffie per protezione acustica.
21) Raccogliete i capelli lunghi e non indossate bracciali o catenine
lunghe perché potrebbero impigliarsi nelle parti mobili della macchina.
22) Assicuratevi sempre che i manici siano puliti e che le leve di
azionamento interruttore si muovano liberamente.
23) Per il trasporto della macchina usate il manico anteriore e coprite
la lama di taglio con le protezioni fornite.
24) Tenetevi sempre ad una distanza di sicurezza dai denti della lama.
25) Non afferrate mai la macchina sulla lama di taglio.
26) Tenete sempre libera da intralci l’area dove lavorate.
27) Usate la macchina con attenzione ed impugnatela sempre con
entrambe le mani. Prima di avviarla e durante l’uso, assicuratevi di
essere in posizione stabile e sicura.
28) Spegnete la macchina e togliete il cappuccio candela quando:
abbandonate la macchina; effettuate qualsiasi tipo di manutenzione o
di pulizia alla macchina; oliate la lama di taglio; in caso di bloccaggio
della lama di taglio prima di asportare l’oggetto causa del bloccaggio.
29) In caso di emergenza, arrestate il funzionamento della macchina
rilasciando le leve di azionamento e spegnetela ponendo l’interruttore
su OFF/ O , mantenendo una presa sicura.
Attenzione! Quando si rilascia la leva dell’acceleratore le lame si
muovono ancora per qualche istante.
30) Quando non la usate riponete la macchina in un luogo asciutto e
lontano dalla portata dei bambini, con la lama protetta dai dispositivi
di protezione.
31) Durante l’uso della macchina, prestate attenzione all’ambiente
circostante e state attenti ai possibili pericoli che non possono
essere percepiti a causa del rumore emesso dalla macchina. Fate
attenzione alle linee aeree dell’elettricità, mantenete una distanza
di almento 10m.
32) Non forzare l’utensile. Esso eseguirà il lavoro meglio ed in modo
più sicuro alla velocità per la quale è stato previsto.
33) Se possibile delimitate l’area di lavoro con dei segnali per la sicurezza
vostra e degli altri.
34) Utilizzate la macchina solo nei modi descritti in queste istruzioni.
35) Non utilizzate la macchina se ci sono componenti danneggiati.
MESSA IN SERVIZIO.
Questo utensile è stata concepito per uso non professionale e non
deve essere utilizzato per lavori pesanti e continuativi o per attività
commerciali. L’utensile deve essere utilizzato solo per potatura di siepi.
Tutte le operazioni descritte devono essere eseguite a macchina ferma
e indossando guanti di protezione.
La macchina può essere fornita con alcuni componenti smontati.
Estraete la macchina ed i componenti forniti smontati dalla confezione
e procedete al loro assemblaggio.
Prima di avviare la macchina, verificate la solidità dell’assemblaggio.
PREPARAZIONE DELLA MISCELA
ATTENZIONE! Il motore funziona esclusivamente con miscela olio-
benzina ottenuto utilizzando olio di tipo per motori a 2 tempi nella
percentuale indicata sul foglio specifiche. Nel caso non si utilizzi
questa miscela il motore si guasterà in modo irreparabile con il
decadimento immediato della garanzia.
ATTENZIONE! Pericolo di incendio ed esplosione. Il carburante e
i suoi vapori sono facilmente infiammabili, fate attenzione a non
versarlo su superfici calde. Operate in un luogo ben ventilato, non
fumate, non avvicinate fiamme libere o oggetti incandescenti.
Utilizzate occhiali di protezione e guanti antiacido. Non ingerite,
non inalate i vapori emessi dal carburante e tenetelo lontano dalla
portata dei bambini. Evitare il contatto con la pelle. In caso di
contatto con gli occhi lavare con abbondante acqua e consultare
un medico.
ATTENZIONE! Non utilizzate la macchina in ambienti con pericolo
di esplosione e/o incendio, in locali chiusi, in presenza di liquidi,
gas, polveri, vapori, acidi ed elementi infiammabili e/o esplosivi.
Non utilizzate la macchina in presenza di fonti incendianti quali
fiamme libere, sigarette, scintille ecc.
Come preparare una miscela olio benzina al 4% di olio (1:25)
Utilizzare per la miscela benzina per automobili senza piombo (ben-
zina verde o eurosuper) con un minimo di 90 ottani e olio per motori
a 2 tempi tipo JASO FC GRADE o ISO EGC GRADE. Utilizzando un
contenitore ed un misurino miscelare in un contenitore resistente
alla benzina 40 cc di olio ogni 1000 cc (1 litro) di benzina. Agitare
bene la miscela prima dell’uso. È consigliabile preparare una quantità
di miscela non superiore a quella necessaria per la lavorazione. Si
consiglia di aggiungere specifici additivi per evitare che la miscela si
deteriori col tempo. Lo stoccaggio della miscela per lunghi periodi
senza l’aggiunta di additivi ne comporta un rapido deterioramento, con
conseguente malfunzionamento del motore e problemi di avviamento.
Conservate i carburanti e l’olio in contenitori omologati , lontano da
fonti di calore e dai raggi solari diretti.
RIFORNIMENTO DELLA MACCHINA
ATTENZIONE! Pericolo di incendio ed esplosione. Effettuare il ri-
fornimento di carburante a macchina spenta. Lasciare raffreddare
la macchina prima di effettuare il rifornimento. Se versato sulla
macchina o sul pavimento, asciugare prima di avviare la macchina.
ATTENZIONE! Il motore 2 tempi deve essere alimentato esclu-
sivamente con una miscela benzina olio con le dosi indicate nel
capitolo precedente.
ATTENZIONE! Ogni operazione deve essere effettuata con il motore
spento e l’interruttore di accensione motore in posizione “stop”
(Fig.A, nr.10).
Prima di aprire il tappo della benzina, per effettuare il rifornimento,
posizionare la macchina su di una superficie piana con il tappo
rivolto verso l’alto. Aprire il tappo (Fig.A, nr.18) svitandolo e riempire
il serbatoio senza farlo tracimare, fissare bene il tappo.
AVVIAMENTO DEL MOTORE
ATTENZIONE! Prima di procedere all’avviamento del motore verificare
che nel serbatoio ci sia una quantità sufficiente di carburante.
La macchina è dotata di frizione centrifuga, con il motore al minimo
(non accelerato) la lama non si muove. Per fermare il movimento degli
organi di taglio è sufficiente rilasciare l’acceleratore (8) in modo che
il motore raggiunga il regime di minimo. Il comando dell’accelera-
tore è dotato di una leva di blocco (9) atto ad impedire l’avviamento
involontario della lama.
ATTENZIONE! In fase di avviamento con motore freddo la lama
potrebbe mettersi in moto.
Avviamento a motore freddo (fig. A):
1. Spostare l’interruttore di accensione/spegnimento (10) in posizione
“ON” ”I”.

2. Adescare il circuito del carburante azionando 10 volte la pompa
di adescamento(24); il circuito è adescato quando si vede il liquido
carburante nella pompa, se necessario azionare ancora la pompa.
3. Spostare il comando aria (12) in posizione “close”
4.Posizionare la macchina in modo stabile verificando con attenzione
che il dispositivo di taglio sia lontano da qualsiasi oggetto o persona.
5.Con una mano afferrare la maniglia di avviamento (20) e con l’altra
afferrare l’impugnatura posteriore (7) premendo contemporanea-
mente la leva di sblocco (9) e la leva acceleratore (8).
6. Mantenendo premuto a fondo l’acceleratore, tirare lentamente
la maniglia di avviamento fino a trovare resistenza e poi tirare ener-
gicamente con un colpo deciso; ripetere tale operazione finchè il
motore non accenna ad avviarsi (si sentono i primi scoppi).
7. Spostare il comando aria (12) in posizione “open” e ripetere
ora l’avviamento mantenendo premuto a fondo l’acceleratore fino
al completo avvio del motore.
8. Rilasciare l’acceleratore e mantenere il motore acceso al minimo
per almeno 30 secondi prima di utilizzare la macchina.
9. Il tagliasiepi è ora pronto all’uso.
Procedura in caso di motore ingolfato:
L’ingolfamento è un eccessivo accumulo di carburante nel motore
che non ne permette l’avviamento.
ATTENZIONE! Pericolo di incendio ed esplosione. Lasciare raf-
freddare la macchina prima di effettuare il rifornimento o qualsiasi
intervento di manutenzione. Effettuare il rifornimento di carburante
a macchina spenta. Se versato sulla macchina o sul pavimento,
asciugare prima di avviare la macchina.
ATTENZIONE! Ogni operazione deve essere effettuata con il motore
spento e l’interruttore di accensione motore in posizione “stop”
(Fig.A, nr.10).
- Svuotare il serbatoio
- Azionare 10 volte la pompa (24) per svuotare il circuito di adescamento
- Togliere la candela
- Rovesciare la macchina (con il foro candela rivolto verso il basso)
su di un recipiente e tirare più volte la maniglia di avviamento (20)
per far fuoriuscire dal cilindro la miscela in eccesso; ripetere l’ope-
razione fino al completo svuotamento del motore.
- Rimontare la candela, procedere dal capitolo RIFORNIMENTO DEL-
LA MACCHINA e avviamento a motore caldo, se necessario, uti-
lizzare successivamente la procedura avviamento a motore freddo.
Avviamento a motore caldo:
1. Spostare l’interruttore accensione spegnimento (fig.A nr.10) in
posizione “ I ”/ ON
2.Posizionare a terra la macchina in modo stabile verificando con
attenzione che il dispositivo di taglio sia lontano da qualsiasi oggetto
o persona.
3. Spostare il comando aria (fig.a nr.12) in posizione “open ”
4. Mantenere ferma la macchina seguendo le indicazioni della figura C
5. Tirare in modo deciso la maniglia di avviamento (fig.A nr.20), fino
all’avviamento del motore, senza rilasciarla di scatto.
Nota bene: Con il motore caldo non chiudere l’aria.
SPEGNIMENTO DEL MOTORE
1. Rilasciare la leva dell’ accelleratore (nr.8) in modo che il motore
torni al regime di minimo e l’organo di taglio si fermi.
2. Posizionare il pulsante spegnimento motore (nr.10) su “O” / STOP.
RODAGGIO
Per le prime 20 ore di funzionamento, non utilizzare la macchina a
pieno carico per lunghi periodi e non fare girare il motore a vuoto al
massimo dei giri.
CARBURAZIONE
Attenzione: per una corretta carburazione della macchina man-
tenere frequentemente pulito il filtro aria( fig.A, 16) seguendo le
istruzioni riportate nel capitolo manutenzione e pulizia.
La carburazione è già regolata correttamente in fabbrica e non deve
essere registrata.
In caso di difetti di carburazione pulire il filtro dell’aria o far verificare
da un centro assistenza la macchina.
Nota bene: La carburazione può variare in funzione delle condizioni
meteo e/o dell’altitudine.
REGOLAZIONE DEL REGIME MINIMO DEL MOTORE
La vite del minimo è regolata in modo ottimale dal costruttore.
Con motore al minimo ( 3000 min-1, circa) le lame non devono
muoversi.
Per la registrazione del regime minimo rivolgetevi ad un centro as-
sistenza autorizzato.
USO
Attenzione per la vostra sicurezza :
Non smontare o manomettere le protezioni della macchina.
Non accendete la macchina se le protezioni risultano danneggiate.
Verificate sempre che le lame siano integre e sufficientemente affilate.
Usate la macchina correttamente utilizzando entrambe le impu-
gnature (fig. E)
Se la lama rimane bloccata all’interno della siepe, spegnete la
macchina prima di liberarla; non forzare la lama.
I corpi estranei devono essere rimossi dalla siepe prima di iniziare
l’operazione di taglio.
IMPUGNATURE :
Per agevolare le operazioni di taglio l’impugnatura posteriore ( fig.A
nr. 7) può essere ruotata di 45°/90° a destra o a sinistra rispetto alla
posizione centrale.
Procedura:
- Spegnere la macchina.
- Premere la leva di sblocco (fig.D nr.1) per liberare il movimento
dell’impugnatura (non premere la leva dell’acceleratore fig.D nr.2
durante questa operazione)
- Ruotate l’impugnatura e fate innestare nuovamente la leva di
sblocco .
- Assicuratevi che l’impugnatura sia ben ferma.
Per motivi di sicurezza, durante lo spostamento della maniglia non
è possibile accelerare.
CONSIGLI E TECNICHE DI TAGLIO:
- Si ottiene un taglio migliore avanzando lentamente e cercando di
inclinare leggermente la lama verso il basso nella direzione di taglio .
- Tagliate la siepe iniziando dai lati, lasciando la parte superiore per
ultima.
- Per ottenere un’altezza omogenea della siepe, si consiglia di tendere
un filo di riferimento e tagliare i rami che sporgono dal filo.
- Per tagliasiepi a singola lama, cioè con dentatura solo da un lato
lama, si consiglia di tagliare sempre dal basso verso l’alto
- Per tagliasiepi a doppia lama è possibile tagliare dal basso verso
l’alto e viceversa usando entrambi i lati della lama, praticando
movimenti a semicerchio.
- Rispettare il livello minimo di carburante indicato nel serbatoio.

MANUTENZIONE E PULIZIA
ATTENZIONE! Ogni operazione indicata di seguito deve essere ef-
fettuata con il motore spento e il cappuccio della candela staccato.
ATTENZIONE! In caso di dubbi consultare un centro assistenza
autorizzato.
ATTENZIONE! Per interventi non contemplati di seguito consultare
un centro assistenza autorizzato.
Abbiate cura della vostra macchina e pulitela regolarmente, vi garan-
tirete una perfetta efficienza ed una lunga durata della stessa.
Pulite la macchina con una spazzola morbida o un panno.
Non spruzzate o bagnate d’acqua la macchina.
Non usate sostanze infiammabili, detergenti o solventi vari, potreste
rovinare irrimediabilmente la macchina. Le parti in plastica sono
aggredibili da agenti chimici.
Lubrificazione e ingrassaggio:
-Alla fine di ogni utilizzo è necessario mettere qualche goccia d’olio
sulle lame e metterle in moto per qualche secondo in modo da
distribuire l’olio .
-Periodicamente (circa ogni 20 ore di lavoro) rifornire di grasso la
scatola ingranaggi attraverso i fori di ingrassaggio (Fig.F nr.1), usan-
do una pistola apposita acquistabile presso i negozi specializzati .
Filtro dell’aria (Fig.G)
Controllare ogni 20 ore il filtro dell’aria. Pulire frequentemente, even-
tualmente sostituire.
Nel caso di utilizzo in ambienti polverosi ridurre gli intervalli di pulizia.
Procedura:
1 Togliere il coperchio del filtro aria (Fig.G, nr.1)
2 Togliere l’elemento filtrante (Fig.G, nr.2) .
3 Lavarlo con acqua e sapone e risciacquarlo perfettamente.
4 Lasciarlo asciugare.
5 Rimettere al suo posto il filtro e richiudere il coperchio.
Candela (Fig.A nr.21 )
Controllare ogni 20 ore di funzionamento eventualmente sostituire.
Per il tipo di candela vedere i dati tecnici.
Procedura :
1 Togliere il cappuccio e svitare la candela con l’apposita chiave.
2 Esaminare la candela e nel caso fossero presenti residui carboniosi
eliminarli con una spazzola metallica. Se l’elettrodo fosse ecces-
sivamente usurato o l’isolante danneggiato, sostituire la candela.
3 Misurare la distanza tra gli elettrodi, deve essere compresa tra 0,6
e 0,7 mm (Fig.A)
4 Riavvitare la candela a mano.
5 Fissare tramite apposita chiave per circa ¼ di giro con candela
usata, di circa ½ giro con candela nuova.
RICERCA GUASTI
Il motore non parte:
- l’interruttore accensione motore è in posizione stop: portarlo su
“ I “/ ON
- Non c’è miscela nel serbatoio: rifornire.
- C’è sporco o acqua nel serbatoio del carburante: svuotarlo e pulirlo.
- La candela non fa scintille: è sporca usurata o difettosa, pulirla o
sostituirla.
- Il filtro dell’aria è ostruito: pulirlo
- La marmitta è intasata: rivolgersi ad un centro assistenza autorizzato.
- Altro: rivolgersi ad un centro di assistenza autorizzato.
Il motore parte e poi si spegne:
- Carico applicato eccessivo: ridurre il carico sugli organi di taglio.
- La candela è difettosa: sostituirla.
- Non è stata utilizzata miscela olio benzina provocando gravi danni
al motore.
- Far verificare la macchina presso un centro di assistenza autorizzato.
Attenzione questo tipo di danno non è coperto dalla garanzia.
- Il filtro dell’aria è ostruito: pulirlo
- Il filtro dell’aria è sporco : lavarlo seguendo le relative istruzioni.

Controllare se qualche dente tagliente risulta danneggiato ed impedi-

GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
PLASTIC BAGS ARE NOT TOYS
WARNING! Risk of suffocation. Plastic bags can cause suffocation, if
included in the package stuck on the head and must be kept away from
children, if not more reusable must be cut and disposed of in the trash.
The machine can cause serious injury. Carefully read the instruc-
tions in order to move, commission, maintain, start and stop the
machine correctly. Become familiar with all the controls and the
correct use of the machine.
1) This machine must not be used by children or any persons not
fully aware of the instructions for use contained in this manual.
Local laws and regulations may establish a minimum age for use
of the machine.
2) Always remember that the machine operator is responsible for
third parties and their property in the working area, and will be held
liable for all accidents and damage caused by use of the machine.
3) Only work during daylight hours or with sufficient artificial lighting.
4) Always check the efficiency and integrity of the machine; if it is
not in good operating conditions, the machine can pose a hazard
to those operating it.
5) Before starting to use the machine, ensure that the engine ventila-
tion holes are free and clean them whenever necessary.
6) Always ensure that all the guards are assembled firmly and never
remove any of the machine components. Do not modify the original
configuration of the machine in any way.
7) Transfer the fuel carefully as it is extremely inflammable. Never add
fuel to the tank when the engine is switched on or hot. Stay far away
from heat sources when refuelling and do not smoke. If you spill any
fuel or there is any overflow of fuel from the tank during refuelling,
dry with a cloth before starting the engine. Do not inhale the petrol
fumes as they are toxic. After refueling, make sure to close the cap.
8) Do not use fuels or inflammable liquids for cleaning the machine.
9) Free the engine and exhaust from twigs, leaves or any excess of
fuel and lubricant in order to reduce any fire risk.
10) Periodically check that the screws are tight.
11) Do not allow yourself to be distracted and always pay attention
to what you are doing. Use your common sense. Never use the
machine when you are tired or under the effect of drugs, alcohol or
substances that can affect your reflexes or ability to concentrate.
12) Limit your use of the machine to a period of no more than 30-40
minutes at a time and have breaks of at least 10-20 minutes. Do
not exceed two hours of work per day.
13) Do not use the tool in closed or poorly ventilated areas or in the
presence of flammable and/or explosive liquids, powders, gasses
or anything else of this kind.
14) Keep a safe distance from property, people and animals and do
not allow them to approach while you are working.
15) Keep children away from the work area.
16) Prevent other people from touching the machine.
17) Do not use the machine if the cutting device is damaged or
badly worn.
18) Do not attempt to repair the machine. Should there be any
breakages or excessive wear of any parts of it, have it checked by
qualified staff in authorised service centres.
19) Always wear tight fitting clothes, but which do not prevent free
movement and shoes with non-slip soles.

20) Whilst working always wear protective goggles, suitable protective
gloves and headphones for sound protection.
21) Tie long hair back and do not wear bracelets or long necklaces
as they could get tangled in the moving parts of the machine.
22) Always ensure that the handles are clean and the switch control
levers can move freely.
23) For transporting the machine use the front handle and cover the
cutting blade with the guards provided.
24) Always stay at a safe distance from the blade teeth.
25) Never grab the machine by the cutting blade.
26) Always keep the work area free from obstacles.
27) Use the machine carefully and always hold it with both hands.
Before starting it and during use, ensure that you are in a stable
and safe position.
28) Switch off the machine and remove the spark plug cap when: you
leave the machine; you are doing any type of maintenance or cleaning
on the machine; you are oiling the cutting blade; or before removing
the object causing a blockage should the cutting blade get blocked.
29) In case of emergency, stop the machine by releasing the control
levers and switch it off putting the switch in the OFF/O position,
keeping tight hold.
Warning! When the accelerator lever is released, the blades carry
on moving for a few seconds.
30) When you are not using the machine, put it away in a dry place
out of the reach of children, with the blade protected using the
protection devices.
31) Whilst using the machine, be aware of the surrounding envi-
ronment and take care of any possible dangers that may not have
been observed due to the noise made by the machine. Pay attention
to overhead electricity, keep a distance of at least 10m.
32) Do not force the tool. It will carry out the job better and more safely
at the intended speed.
33) If possible, mark off the work area with markers for your safety
and the safety of others.
34) Only use this machine in the way described in these instructions.
35) Do not use the machine if there are any damaged components.
STARTING UP
This tool was designed for non-professional use and must not be
used for heavy duty or continuous jobs or for commercial activities.
The tool must only be used for trimming hedges.
All the operations described must be carried out with the machine
stopped and wearing protective gloves.
The machine may be supplied with some loose components. Take
the machine and the loose components out of the packaging and
proceed to assemble them.
Make sure that the machine is solidly assembled before starting it.
PREPARING THE MIXTURE
WARNING! The engine works exclusively with an oil-petrol mixtu-
re obtaining using oil for 2 strokes engines in the percentage
indicated on the specification sheet. If this mixture is not used
irreparable damage will be caused to the engine with immediate
loss of warranty.
WARNING! Risk of fire and explosion. The fuel and its fumes are
highly inflammable. Do not pour the fuel onto hot surfaces. Work
in a well ventilated area, do not smoke and keep away from naked
flames and incandescent objects. Use protective eyewear and anti-
acid heavy duty gloves. Do not swallow, do not inhale the fumes
given off by the fuel and keep it out of the reach of children. Avoid
contact with the skin. In case of contact with the eyes wash with
water and seek medical advice.
WARNING! Do not use the machine in areas with a risk of explosion
and/or fire, in indoor areas or in the presence of inflammable and/
or explosive liquids, gases, powders, vapours, acids or elements.
Do not use the machine in the presence of incendiary sources such
as naked flames, cigarettes, sparks, etc.
How to prepare a petrol-oil mixture with 4% oil (1:25)
For the mixture use unleaded car petrol for (green or eurosuper) with
a minimum of 90 octanes and oil for two-stroke engines type JASO
FC GRADE or ISO EGC GRADE. Using a container and a measurer in
a petrol-resistant container mix 40 cc of oil for every 1000 cc (1litre)
of petrol. Shake the mixture well before use. It is advisable only to
prepare the quantity of mixture necessary for the task in hand. It is
advisable to add specific additives in order to prevent the mixture
deteriorating over time. The storage of the mixture for long periods
without the addition of additives leads to quick deterioration, with
the consequent malfunctioning of the engine and starting problems.
Keep fuels and the oil in homologated containers, away from heat
and direct sunlight.
REFUELLING THE MACHINE
WARNING! Risk of fire and explosion. Refuel when the machine
is switched off. Let the machine cool before refuelling. If the fuel
has splashed onto the machine or floor, dry it up before starting
the machine.
WARNING! A two-stroke engine must be powered exclusively with a
petrol oil mixture with the doses indicated in the previous chapter.
WARNING! Any refuelling must be carried out with the engine
switched off and the engine ignition switch in the “stop” position
(Fig.A, no.10).
Before opening the petrol cap, for refuelling, place the machine on a
flat surface with the cap facing upwards. Open the cap (Fig.A, no.18)
by unscrewing it and fill up the tank without allowing it to overflow
and make sure the cap is firmly secured.
STARTING THE ENGINE
PLEASE NOTE! Before starting the engine check that the tank is
suitably full.
The machine is equipped with a centrifugal clutch, so with the engine
at minimum speed (not accelerating) the blade does not turn. In order
to stop the cutting device rotation it is enough to release the accelera-
tor (8) so that the engine slows to minimum speed. The accelerator
control is equipped with a safety lock-off lever (9) that aims to block
involuntary starting of the blade.
WARNING! The blade could begin moving during start-up with a
cold engine.
Starting a cold engine (fig. A):
1. Move the switch on / off switch (10) to “ON” position “I”.
2. Prime the fuel circuit 10 times by operating the priming pump (24),
the circuit is primed when you see the liquid fuel in the pump, if
necessary still operate the pump.
3. Move the air control (12) to “close”
4.Place the camera in a stable manner by checking carefully that the
cutting device is away from any object or person.
5.With a hand grasp the starter handle (20) and with the other hand
grasp the rear handle (7) while pressing the release lever (9) and
the throttle lever (8).
6 While holding down the accelerator, slowly pull the starter grip until
feeling some resistance and then pull briskly with a blow; repeat this
operation until the engine hints to start (you can hear the first bursts).

7 Move the air control (12) in “open” position and repeat the start-
up operation by holding down the accelerator until the complete
startup of the engine.
8 Release the throttle and keep the engine running at idle speed for
at least 30 seconds before using the machine.
9 The hedge trimmer is now ready for use.
Procedure in case of flooded engine:
The flooding is an excessive accumulation of fuel in the engine that
does not allow the start-up.
WARNING! Risk of fire and explosion. Allow machine to cool before
refueling or any maintenance. Perform refueling machine off. If spilled
on the machine or on the floor to dry before starting the machine.
WARNING! Each operation must be carried out with the engine off
and the ignition switch in the engine “stop” position (Fig, nr.10).
- Empty the tank
- Operate the pump 10 times (24) to drain the priming
- Remove the spark plug
- Spilling the machine (with the spark plug hole facing down) onto
a container and repeatedly pull the starter handle (20) to eject the
mixture from the cylinder in excess; repeat the operation until the
complete emptying of the engine.
- Replace the spark plug, proceed to section FILLING MACHINE and
warm starting, if necessary, use the following procedure to start
the engine cold.
Hot engine start-up:
1. Move the ON/OFF switch (fig.A no.10) into the “I”/ON position.
2. Position the machine on the ground so that it is stable, carefully
checking that the cutting device is far from any objects or people.
3. Move the air control (Fig. A no.12) into the “open” position.
4. Keep the machine still following the indications in figure C.
5. Pull the start handle firmly (Fig.A no.20), to start the engine, without
releasing it with a jerk.
Please note: Do not close the air when the engine is hot.
SWITCHING OFF THE ENGINE
1. Release the accelerator lever (no.8) so that the engine returns to
minimum speed and the cutting device stops.
2. Shift the engine off switch (no.10) to “O” /STOP.
BREAKING IN
Do not use the machine on full load for extended periods for the first
20 hours of use and do not allow the machine to function idly at full
throttle.
CARBURATION
Caution! For correct carbuation of the machine keep the air filter
clean frequently (Fig.A, 16) following the instructions shown in
the maintenance and cleaning chapter.
The carburation has already been correctly adjusted in the factory
and does not need to be set.
In case of carburation faults, clean the air filter or have the machine
checked at a customer service centre.
Please note: The carburation can vary according to climatic conditions
and/or altitude.
ADJUSTING THE MINIMUM ENGINE SPEED
The minimum screw is adjusted optimally by the manufacturer.
With the engine at minimum speed (about 3,000 rpm), the blades
must not move.
For recording the minimum speed, contact an authorised service centre.
USE
For your safety:
Do not disassemble or tamper with the machine guards.
Do not switch on the machine if the guards are damaged.
Always check that the blades are integral and sufficiently sharpened.
Use the machine correctly using both handgrips (Fig.E).
If the blade gets stuck in the hedge, switch off the machine before
freeing it; do not force the blade.
Foreign bodies must be removed from the hedge before the cutting
operation begins.
HAND GRIPS:
To make the cutting operations easier the rear hand grip (Fig.A no. 7) can
be turned through 45°/90° to the right or left from the central position.
Procedure:
- Turn off the machine.
- Press the release lever (Fig.D no.1) to free the movement of the
hand grip (do not press the accelerator lever Fig.D no.2 during this
operation).
-Turn the hand grip and trigger the release lever again.
- Ensure that the hand grip is firm.
For safety reasons, whilst moving the handle it is not possible to
accelerate.
CUTTING ADVICE AND TECHNIQUES:
- A better cut is obtained by moving forwards slowly and trying to
keep the blade slightly sloping downwards in the cutting direction.
- Cut the hedge starting from the sides, leaving the top part to the end.
- To obtain a uniform height for the hedge, it is recommended to use
a reference wire and cut the branches that stick out from the wire.
- For single blade hedge cutters it is recommended always to cut in
an upwards direction.
- For double blade hedge cutters, it is possible to cut upwards and
downwards using both sides of the blade, making semi-circle
movements.
- Respect the minimum level of fuel indicated on the tank.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
WARNING! All operations indicated below must be carried out
with the engine switched off and the spark plug wire unplugged.
WARNING! If in doubt, contact an authorised service centre.
WARNING! For operations not considered below please seek advice
from an authorised service centre.
Take care of your machine and clean it regularly to ensure that it
remains perfectly efficient and has a long lifetime.
Clean the machine with a soft brush or cloth.
Do not spray or wet the machine with water.
Do not use inflammable substances, detergents or solvents as these
may damage the machine beyond repair. The plastic parts can easily
be damaged by chemical agents.
Lubrication and greasing:
- After every use it is advisable to add a few drops of oil to the blades
and make them move for a few seconds so that the oil is distributed.
- Periodically (about every 20 hours of work) refill the gearbox with
grease through the greasing holes (Fig.F no.1), using the pistol that
can be bought in specialist shops.
Air filter (Fig.G)
Check the air filter every 20 hours. Clean frequently. If necessary,
replace.
In case of use in dusty areas clean more regularly.

Procedure:
1. Remove the air filter cover (Fig.G no.1).
2 Remove the filter element (Fig.G, no.2).
3 Wash it with soap and water and rinse completely.
4 Leave to dry.
5 Put the filter back in place and close the cover.
Spark plug (Fig.A no.21)
Check every 20 hours of operation, replace if necessary.
For the spark plug type, check the technical information.
Procedure:
1. Remove the pipette and unscrew the spark plug with the correct
spanner.
2. Check the spark plug and in case of carbon residue remove with a
metal brush. Replace the spark plug if the electrode is excessively
worn or the insulation is damaged.
3. Measure the distance between the electrodes: it should be between
0.6 and 0.7 mm (Fig.A).
4. Return the spark plug to its place by hand.
5. Secure a used spark plug with around ¼ turn of the spanner, and
a new one with around ½ turn of the spanner.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The engine does not start:
- The on/off switch is in the “stop” position. Turn it to “I” / ON
- There is no fuel mixture in the tank: fill it up.
- There is dirt or water in the fuel tank: clean it.
- The new spark plug does not spark: it is dirty, worn or defective,
clean or replace it.
- The air filter is clogged: clean it.
- The exhaust muffler is obstructed: contact an authorised service
centre.
- Other: contact an authorised service centre.
The engine starts then stops:
- Excessive electric load: reduce the load on the cutting device.
- The spark plug is damaged: replace it.
- An oil petrol mixture has not been used, hence causing serious
damage to the engine.
- Have the machine checked at an authorised service centre. Warning:
damage due to this kind of negligence is not covered by the warranty.
- The air filter is clogged: clean it.
- The air filter is dirty: wash it following the instructions provided.
- The exhaust muffler is obstructed: contact an authorised service
centre.
- Other: contact an authorised service centre.
The blade does not turn, it jams or rattles:
Check if any of the teeth are damaged and obstructing the blade’s
movement: Try to repair the damaged tooth using a file or abrasive
stone.
The blades overheat excessively:
- Add a few drops of oil to the blades.
- Refill the gearbox with grease.
STORAGE
WARNING! Hot surfaces. Some parts of the machine may stay hot
for several hours after it has been switched off. Wait for it to cool
down completely before storing it.
WARNING! Make sure that the storage place is not damp and dusty.
1. Remove all the fuel from the tank.
2. Pour a few drops of engine oil into the spark plug hole and put the
engine in the compression position.
3. Add a few drops of oil to the blades.
4. Assemble the blade guard.
5. Put the machine back in a firm, safe position, out of the reach of
children.
DEMOLITION
In order to protect the environment, proceed according to the local
laws in force.
WARNING! Before demolition totally empty the fuel tank; to be
carried out in an open area.
Do not throw the packaging into the rubbish bins (garbage cans) but
take to a recycling bin.
When the machine is no longer usable or reparable, dismantle the
various parts for differentiated refuse collection.
All the plastic components bear an acronym identifying the materials
they are made from.
This can be used when recycling them in the future.
Do not dispose of used oil with domestic waste, but take it to the
special Collection Centres.
WARRANTY
The product is protected by law against non-compliance with the de-
clared characteristics provided it is used only in the manner described
in the instructions, it has not been tampered with in any way, it has
been stored properly, has been repaired by authorized and, where
applicable, have been used only original spare parts.
In the case of industrial or professional use or when using such a
guarantee is valid for 12 months.
To issue a claim under warranty you must present proof of purchase
to your dealer or authorized service center.
