Oneida Air Systems AHX000027 Installation guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the instructions for the Oneida Air Systems Gated Tee-Joint Kit AHX000027. This document covers how to assemble and install the kit, including attaching flex-hose, using the blast gate, and wall mounting. It also explains how to use the reducers for different hose sizes. I am ready to answer your questions about this device.
  • What is the purpose of the gasket?
How does the blast gate hold its position?
What should I do if my hose cuff matches the diameter of the reducer?

Attaching Flex-Hose
To help provide a secure and airtight t for your hose, Gasket (D) must
be applied to both ends of the Gated Tee-Joint (A).
Lay out the Gasket around one end of the Gated Tee-Joint and cut where
both ends mate. Peel the backer tape o the Gasket and adhere to one
end of the Gated Tee-Joint. e ends of the Gasket must meet to ensure
an airtight seal. Repeat on other end of the Gated Tee-Joint.
Pull the hose over each end of the Gated Tee-Joint and secure it in place
with the Turn-Key Hose Clamps (E).
Using the Reducers
e Gated Tee-Joint (A) includes two Reducers (B) (C) for connecting
various vacuum hoses to the gated branch. e reducers attach to the
branch using a friction t.
• e branch itself will accept raw 4" ex hose over it, held in place
with a Hose Clamp.
• e 4 to 2-1/2" Reducer (B) will accept any standard 2-1/2" vacuum
hose and assorted cus.
• e 4 to 1-1/2" Reducer (C) will accept any standard 1-1/2" vacuum
hose and assorted cus.
Note: In some rare cases, your hose cu may match the diameter of the
Reducer and will require a hose coupler to join the two ttings together.
Using the Blast Gate
To preserve airow performance, the blast gate should be closed o
when the tool connected to it is not in use.
When opening and closing the blast gate, the plate will hold its position
thanks to the internal magnetic brake.
Note: Your dust collector must always have at least one branch open
during operation to avoid "dead-heading" the system.
Wall-Mounting Instructions
Aer all of your ductwork has been connected and installed, the Tee-
Joint can be directly fastened to the wall for further stability and security.
Using a long bit driver extension for your power drill, insert through the
open gated branch and pre-drill a hole through the protrusion on the
side of the Tee-Joint and into the wall [FIG. 1].
Secure the Tee-Joint in place using a suitable screw, rubber washer, and
at washer to ensure a proper airtight seal within the duct.
Note: e remainder of your ducting should use its own wall-mounts and
not rely on the Tee-Joint for support. You must provide your own wall
mounting hardware.
