Use this guide to get started with your device setup.

Setting up your Headset
The following steps will show you how to
properly setup the software, power up
and plug in your Meta 2.

order to avoid any potential issues with
your headset.

Download the SDK Installer and follow the setup instructions.

Connect the power cord to the wall.

Connect the opposite end of the power cord to the device.
The indicator light on the headset will show that the
headset is on.

Connect the HDMI cable to the graphics card port.
If your display is not working, try switching HDMI ports.

If you experience problems, make sure you are
plugged in to USB 3.0.

To begin, adjust the back buckle and top strap
according to your comfort level.

Two different forehead pads are included for your ergonomic
comfort. Place the headset on your head so that the
forehead pad sits on top of your eyebrows.
Place the back buckle on the base of your skull.

Get to Know Your Meta 2
The headset enables users to interact with 3D
holograms just like real objects, naturally extending
the capabilities of the human brain and hand.

Eye Calibration
Use the Eye Calibration feature to ensure that you see
virtual objects clearly through the headset.
Each user can create different eye calibration proles,
which can be found by clicking on the Meta Utility icon
in the system tray.

Field of View
The Meta 2 device enables you to interact with
holograms within a 90° eld of view.
However, gestures outside of the virtual area
represented in the gure above might not be
detected by your device.

Environment and Surface Mapping
The Meta 2 scans your environment and tracks surfaces,
allowing you to place 3D virtual objects in the space around you.
For the best tracking experience, make sure you initiate the
device in an environment that has uniform lighting and contains
real-world objects.

Hands Interactions
The Meta 2 supports direct object manipulation. To initiate a grab:
1. Move toward the object with your open hand
2. Grab the object by closing your hand
3. Move the object while keeping your hand closed
4. Release the object by opening your hand

The Meta 2 headset also supports mouse interactions.

Cleaning Tips
CAUTION: DO NOT USE ANY LIQUID ON THE VISOR ITSELF
Before you start cleaning your headset, make sure your
headset is unplugged.
Use the included microber carrying bag to wipe off
smudges and ngerprint residue on the visor. For plastic
parts, gently remove smudges with a dry or slightly damp
(water only) microber bag.
