2. Product description
Promovec Electric is the perfect choice if you are looking for an
e-bike for commuting and for casual riding that can increase
your mobility and give you excellent driving pleasure under all
conditions, no matter whether you drive uphill or in a strong
headwind.
Promovec Electric is available in different designs, some of
which come in both a man’s bike and a ladies’ bike. Thanks to
the step-through frame of the ladies’ bikes it is easy to mount
and get off.
The frame is made of aluminum in order to have a rigid and
strong construction as well as to maintain low weight. The motor
is built into the front wheel to obtain the best weight distribution.
The torque of the planetary gear motor is high with a powerful
performance sufficient to take you over longer uphill distances
without problems. Using the 7- or 8-speed gear you can always
find a gear suitable for your speed.
2.1 Frame number
The e-bike is provided with a frame number which can be found
under the crank.

3. Functions/settings
3.1 Battery indicator
The battery indicator is in-
tegrated in the LCD dis-
play on the handlebar. On
the indicator you can see
the approximate battery
level.
Please note that the battery level may vary depending on whether
you drive uphill or downhill.
3.2 Assist function
The assist function has 6 settings. By pressing the assist button
repeatedly you may choose the appropriate assist level.
As it is possible to adjust the assist level to actual need during
the ride, it is up to the driver to decide when help is needed and
how much.
The motor will disconnect at a speed of 24.6 km/h.
3.3 Gear lever
Shift the gear by turning the
gear lever placed in the right
handlebar.
Choose the appropriate gear
according to speed and wish.
The gear lever may vary depending on bicycle model. The above
photo shows the gear lever on Promovec Electric Element.

3.4 Mantling and dismantling of the battery
Turn the battery key (ON/OFF) to open position and take the
battery out of the rack.
Mount the battery again by placing it in the rack and pushing it
forward into position. Then turn the key to lock the battery.
3.5 Mounting of battery charger
Insert the plug of the battery
charger into the battery.
You may charge the battery
while mounted in the e-bike.
You may also choose to dis-
mantle the battery and take it
indoor for recharging

3.6 Driving instructions
The auxiliary engine works as follows:
When the pedals are activated a sensor sends a signal to the elec-
tronic steering (controller) which then starts the motor.
The power of the auxiliary engine is adjusted according to the
chosen assist level. During the ride you may adjust the assist
level according to actual need.
If you drive uphill you may apply full power whereas when you
go downhill you may disconnect the motor.
The electronic steering will automatically disconnect the motor
when you stop pedaling. Likewise the steering will disconnect
the motor when your speed exceeds 24.6 km/h.
4. Highway code
The Promovec Electric e-bike is built according to the guidelines
of the EU standards EN 14764 and EN 15194.
There are no requirements in respect to a driving license, a
license plate or the use of a crash helmet.
When riding in the traffic you must observe the rules which apply
for cyclists. It is strongly recommended that you wear a cycle
helmet.
8
5. Insurance
When it comes to insurance an e-bike falls within the scope of a
conventional bicycle which is normally covered by your family
home insurance.
We do however recommend that you consult your insurance
agent to discuss specific insurance aspects of your e-bike.
6. Battery charger
6.1 Use of battery charger
1. Charging must take place indoors.
2. Turn the key to off position.
3. Put the plug of the charger into the socket of the battery.
4. Put the mains plug (230v) into the power socket and switch
on the charger.
5. The red diode will be on, as long as charging takes place.
6. When the diode changes from red to green, charging is com-
plete and the e-bike is ready.
7. Turn off the charger but do not remove it from the socket un-
til you are going to use the e-bike again.
6.2 Charging
The Promovec Electric e-bike uses maintenance-free Panasonic
Li-ION batteries. Please note, that the battery can be dismantled.
The charging capacity of the battery is only 40% when delivered
from the factory. Before commissioning it is therefore necessary
to charge the battery to full capacity using the enclosed battery
charger (Green diode is on).
9
In order to achieve maximum battery life and range of the e-bike
we recommend that charging takes place in a heated room. By
temperatures below 20ºC prolonged charging time must be ex-
pected, with the result that charging of the battery to full capaci-
ty cannot take place which again leads to reduced driving range.
Please note that the capacity of the battery will decrease when
temperatures fall below 20ºC.
Optimum battery charging conditions are at 20ºC. If the battery
is exposed to direct sunlight the battery life deteriorates consi-
derably.
When the battery is taken indoors for charging, condensation
may occur inside the battery as well as on the outside. Please
therefore do not start charging until the condensation has disap-
peared. The battery contains a printed circuit board that controls
each battery cell. If charging takes place while there is still some
condensation in the battery this printed circuit board may be
damaged.
Memory effect does not occur in Li-ION batteries. It is thus un-
necessary to discharge the battery before starting a recharge.
Charging of the Li-ION battery at many frequent intervals may
prolong the battery life. However, please note that once charging
of the battery has been started you should not discontinue the
process as this may have a negative influence on the battery life.
Rechargeable batteries must always be kept in dry conditions
and dismantled from any equipment.
Do not pull the wires when dismantling the charger from the bat-
tery. Grab hold of the plug and pull it carefully out of the battery.
Never leave the battery in the charger when the charger is off.
10
Never leave your battery in your Promovec Electric e-bike for a
longer period of time.
Please note that the capacity of the battery will weaken over time
and at lower temperatures. The more you use your e-bike the
more the capacity will decrease thereby affecting the range. Over
time the reduced battery performance will also be noticeable
when driving in a hilly countryside. The battery life will normal-
ly allow charging/discharing up to 600 times.
Please also note that periods with low temperatures will influ-
ence the capacity and thus the performance of the battery nega-
tively. This will change when the temperature increases to ap-
prox. 20ºC.
Other parameters of major importance for the performance/
range are user weight, driving manners, terrain, surface and tire
pressure. The user himself/herself may also influence the per-
formance/range depending on how much pedal power is used.
It costs only little to have the charger connected all the time, as
the charger will switch to standby when the battery if charged to
full capacity. However, the charger should not be connected for
more than max. one week. The battery should then be removed
from the charger and charging to full capacity should take place
once a month (full charge = green diode on charger is on).
6.3 Storage for the winter
If you put away your e-bike for a longer period (more than one
month), it will be sufficient to charge the battery once a month.
Before putting the battery away for storage you should make
sure that it is fully charged, as the battery will be damaged by
being left totally or partly discharged for a longer period.
11
6.4 Warning
Do not heat, short, puncture or in any other way damage the
battery.
Do not divide or destroy the battery.
Do not throw the battery into open fire.
Do not lower the battery into water or any other liquid.
When charging the battery only use the enclosed battery
charger.
Do not charge the battery at temperature below 0ºC or above
45ºC.
Do not cover the battery charger.
Disposal of used batteries must take place to companies with
environmental approval or to public recycling centers.

8. Warranty
PRO-MOVEC grants a 24 months warranty on all damage which
is the result of production or material flaws.
However, the warranty on batteries is 6 months in so far as no
self-inflicted harm, e.g. a complete discharge, has been made to
the battery.
These warranty conditions shall only apply as long as the rele-
vant warranty documents are available in their complete and cor-
rect form and are presented to your PRO-MOVEC dealer imme-
diately after ascertainment of the warranty reason.
14
Damage that may occur in consequence of a delayed notification
of the warranty claim is not covered by the warranty. In case a
defect is detected the e-bike must in no circumstances be used
any longer.
PRO-MOVEC guarantees that on the original day of the pur-
chase the product is in perfect condition with regard to material
and manufacture.
Should it however turn out that, in spite of extensive quality con-
trol, defects are found within the warranty period PRO-MOVEC
will rectify (repair or replacement) the defects at no cost.
The warranty does not include repair of defects and damage that
are the result of an accident, improper use, repairs carried out by
an unauthorized repairman, alterations or modifications of the
product, inappropriate storage, incorrect use compared to pre-
scriptions, lack of maintenance or normal wear and tear.
If you should need to invoke the warranty you must take the
product with the duly filled in warranty document and the origi-
nal purchase invoice to your e-bike expert dealer before expiry
of the warranty period.
In case the e-bike must be sent to the dealer by carrier you will
have to carry the costs as well as the risk of damage/loss unless
you have taken out insurance.
If a replacement product is offered within the scope of the war-
ranty, ownership of this product passes at the time of replace-
ment.
The returned product becomes the ownership of PRO-MOVEC
at the time of receipt at our premises.
