TheEM712multibeamechosounderiscapableofmeetingallrelevantsurveystandards.
Thesystemcongurationcanbetailoredtotheuserrequirements,allowingforchoiceof
beamwidthsaswellastransmissionmodes.Theminimumacquisitiondepthisfromless
than3mbelowitstransducers,andthemaximumacquisitiondepthisupto3600m.
TheEM712replacestheEM710.EM712isbuiltwithnew,stateofthearttechnology.
Byincreasingthefrequencyrangefrom70-100kHzto40-100kHz,therange
performanceisgreatlyimproved.Thetransmittransducerarraysarethesame,whilethe
receivearrayshasgotabuiltinpreamplier.Thepreamplierreducestheelectronicself
noiseandthisgivesextendedrangecapabilityaslongastheexternalnoise(shipsnoise,
ownoise,sea-state)islow.TheEM712receivercanbeconguredfor0.5°,using
tworeceivermodules.ForupgradefromEM710toEM712,theTXandRXframes
plusthetransmitarray(s)canbereused.
Acrosstrackcoverage(swathwidth)isupto5.5timeswaterdepthandthemaximum
achievabledepthis3600m.Thesoundingdensityisveryhigh,allowingeventhevery
demandingLINZspecialordersurveyspecicationforobjectdetectiontobemetinfull.
