safety, usage, and disposal. Before using the product, please

The following warning types are used in these operating instructions:
This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to
potential injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that
follow this symbol to avoid possible injury and death.
WARNING indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.

Safety instructions
This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance.
This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may
result in personal injury and property damage.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are
present, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
WARNING – As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts
are electrically live even when they are turned off.
1. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not immerse mo-
tor body, cord or electrical plug of this hand blender in water
or other liquid.
2. Unplug the appliance from outlet when not in use, before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
3. Remove the plug from the outlet in event of operating
malfunctions.
4. Avoid contact with moving parts.
5. Do not let the cord hang over edge of table or counter.
6. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
7. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other
utensils away from beaters during operation to reduce the
risk of injury to persons or damage to the mixer.
8. Remove beaters from mixer before cleaning.
9. To disconnect the power cord, always pull the plug from the
outlet; do not pull the power cord itself.

10. Ensure that the power cord does not become wet or damp
during use. Route the cord in such a way that it cannot be
crushed or damaged.
11. If the appliance, the power cord or the plug are damaged,
arrange for them to be repaired by Customer Services to
avoid the risk of injury.
12. Do not use the appliance outdoors or operate where aerosol
(spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
13. Never touch the appliance, the power cord or the plug with
wet hands.
14. Do not kink or crush the power cord, and route the cord so
that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
15. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the
power cord around the appliance, and protect it from being
damaged.
16. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged
in.
17. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord
or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance
to a service center for examination and repair.
18. Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance
yourself. This can lead to risks and also invalidates the
warranty. Defective appliances should be repaired by
authorized specialists only.
19. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water.
Unplug it immediately.

20. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described
in this manual. The use of attachments not recommended or
sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or
injury.
21. Never drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.

► The appliance and its connecting cord must be kept away
from children.
► The appliance should always be disconnected from the power
supply when unattended and before assembly, disassembly,
or cleaning.
► Never touch the whisks or kneading hooks when the appliance
is in use. Do not dangle long hair, scarves or the like over the
mixing attachments.
► Never attempt to fit attachments with differing functions at the
same time.
► Do not touch moving parts of the appliance; always wait for
them to come to a complete stop. Risk of injury!
► Always check the appliance and all parts for signs of visible
damage before use. Safety can only be ensured if the appli-
ance is in flawless condition.

► Never use the appliance if parts are damaged, defective or
missing. Doing so will increase the risk of accidents.
► This hand mixer is a multipurpose appliance, whereby the hook
creates maximum rating. Other recommended attachments my
draw significantly less power.
► Have all repairs carried out by trained personnel. If required,
contact our service partner responsible for your country.

Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, there is only one way
this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet. If the plug does
not completely fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the
plug in any way.
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for mixing and kneading
dough, stirring liquids (e.g. fruit juices) and whipping cream. It
is only suitable for processing food. This appliance is intended
solely for use in private households. Do not use it for commercial
purposes.

RISK OF SUFFOCATION!
Packaging materials should not be used as a toy. There is a risk of
suffocation.
1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instruc-
tions from the box.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section
entitled "Cleaning".
Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible
damage. If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as
a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the
customer service hotline (see “3 year limited warranty” section).

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during
transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their
environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore
recyclable.
Recycling conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of
waste generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no
longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
Note the marking on the different packaging materials and
separate them as necessary. The packaging materials are marked
with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following
meanings: 1–7: Plastics, 20–22: Paper and cardboard, 80–98:
Composites.

Short time duty (maximum load)
Short time duty indicates how long an appliance can be operated
without the motor overheating and sustaining damage. After the
appliance has been operated for this duration of time, turn it off
until the motor has cooled down.

Operation
Kneading and whisking
RISK OF INJURY!
Never use containers made from glass or other easily breakable
materials. These containers may get damaged and cause injuries.
PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not operate the mixer continuously for longer than 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, take a break to allow the appliance to cool
down.
Never knead dough containing more than 12 oz (350 g) of flour
with this appliance! Larger quantities of flour may result in over-
loading the appliance!
If necessary, divide dough with higher flour quantities into several
portions and knead them one after the other. However, do not ex-
ceed the specified short time duty (maximum load) of 10 minutes.

mixing light dough/batter
Kneading hook
for kneading thicker dough
2) Push the whisks or the kneading hooks into the slots
until they click audibly into place and sit firmly.

3) Insert the power plug into a power socket.
4) To start operating the appliance, move the speed switch to
the desired speed setting. You can select between 5 speed
settings and also use the Turbo button (see section on
"Speed levels").
5) Press the tool-release button to release the whisks or the
kneading hooks .
For safety reasons, the whisks and kneading hooks can
only be released if the speed switch is set to the position "0".
Cleaning
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Always remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning
the appliance! There is a risk of electric shock!
Never immerse the hand set in water or other liquids!
■ Clean the hand set containing the motor only with a damp
cloth and, if necessary, with a mild detergent.
■ The whisks and the kneading hooks can be cleaned
under running water or in warm water with detergent. Dry all
parts thoroughly after cleaning.
We recommend cleaning the attachments directly after use.
This removes food residue and reduces the risk of bacterial
contamination.

The whisks and the kneading hooks can also be
cleaned in the dishwasher.
Storage
■ Store the cleaned appliance in a clean, dust-free, and dry
location.
Disposal
Electrical appliances may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical appliance,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable in
your state. This will ensure that old electrical devices are recycled
and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum. Additional infor-
mation about disposal is available on the Internet at www.epa.gov.
Appendix
Recipe
Simple sponge cake
Ingredients
3 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of sunflower oil
1 cup of mineral water
1 packet of vanilla sugar
1 packet of baking powder
4 eggs
1 pinch of salt
1) Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar and
a pinch of salt in a container that is suitable for mixing.

2) Add the eggs, mineral water and oil, then mix everything
into a smooth dough.
3) Grease a sponge cake pan and add the dough.
4) Preheat the oven to 400–435 °F (200–225 °C) (convection)
and bake the cake for approx. 40–45 minutes.
3 year limited warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
▯ Improper use or transport;
▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing
screws etc.)
Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under
this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation
or exclusion may not apply to you.
What is the period of coverage and warranty
resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase.
At our discretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.
